Well I for one am glad for the Delay! 2 Days of double XP and Cash! Update done today! this falls on 2 work days and Friday Night (nuff said) if we get Update tomorrow or Saturday we at least have it over some of the weekend!!

In a battle field that was all about chocking the UK supply lines! Not attacking a Surface Battle fleet. The Admiral you were talking about is Dönitz and he said this as he new the German navy stood no chance in beating the RN in a Open conventional surface action. German surface ships were only effective as a fleet in being! There ability to get to sea for a short period of time and attack a convoy before The RN could get surface units in to the area! The only counter to a Fleet in being was to Blockade there location (as the RN did against the French in Napolionic Wars) But the threat to a loitering Fleet from Bombers and Subs stops this. There are many account of Subs hitting and Sinking Large surface Warship ships. But almost all of these were chance encounters. Not in a battle where a ships is closed up at action station and aware there was or may be a submarine close by

Deep subs cant launch Torpedoes.... They need to be at periscope Depth You do realise that the main and most effective counter to Submarines at Periscope Depth in WW2 was aircraft. Most Sub attacks were conducted on the surface. Try sneaking through the enemy lines to get to the carrier at the back at a top speed of 7 knots in the 20 mins this game lasts.. Its not till tier 8+ that you may start seeing subs with underwater speed greater the 10 Knots.

Yep nature of the game face a ship +2 you will struggle. A tier 6 BB in a atier 8 game rely need to try and keep other ships close by! But BB's need to try and defend them selves instead of crying on the forums all the time.

to add to this!! If there are Ships of tier 6+ in the games, any CV captain that charged his planes in to the enemy spawn point ASAP is a Fool as you can be certain almost non of you planes will return as the enemy is congregated together and there AA will Pulverise the aircraft. Warspite is probably the best Anti AA BB in the game at tier 6. Fantastic Rudder shift and Short hull makes it ease to avoid some if not most/all the torpedoes shot at you much of the time and its AA is very very strong! especially if you use commander and Modules to Upgrade AA. I think the main Issue with BB players Don't want to spend commander XP and or modules on AA defence. I don't kill many planes with my Warspite! the reason The CV capatin approaches me 1 time! Then goes to find easer targets. BBs on the hole complain about CV but do nothing to protect them selves. More BB players take AA mod 2 and Advanced fire trainng Captain skill! most CV's will pick other targets

Steering Mod ! agree not needed! But Mod 2 20% rudder shift is great avoiding those short range Torp drops when in a knife fight with another DD .

I went with 1 sit awareness 2 Last stand 3 Super attendant 4 Survivability expert (over 18000 HP ona tier 7 DD, whats not to love) 5 Concealment expert As well as helping invis for guns it means you have over 1km to play with to invis for Torps makes it a lot easer 16-18 skill points! any thing that helps the guns One of my primary roles in a DD is to find and take out enemy DD's for this Concealment and Hitpoints is rely important! Even my Fubuki is kitted as a gun boat!!! LOL squealed like a school girl at a boy band concert last week (some forum members can confirm as I was on team speak) when I beat a 1/2 to 2/3 health tier 10 Gearing in a gun fight!! in said Fubuki

Mmmm no the AA is a huge advantage! Manual Drop is the skill of dropping torps as close as possible to the ship to give them time to arm and as little manoeuvring time as possible for BB. forcing a Good CV player to drop torps further away to save his aircraft! is a big advantage to the Texas over the New York. As the Bb commander has more time to manuver. Also the AA will have a huge impact on dive bombers!!! You know the prominent attack plane for USN CV's

Not sure i agree with this! i did not buy the grem Purly Because at the time i did not plan to play Russian Ships.. I dont see how being second in gun boat and second in Torps Ability ever made he the weakest DD. She was always the Most balanced and best all rounder of the bunch. On topic Premium ships (especially LOW tier ones) Need to be balanced below there same tier compatriots. As we can make the assumption of there often being High Skill point commanders placed in them.
