Real issue of the meta - Carriers got shitty controls.
Loran_Battle replied to Kazomir's topic in General Discussion
To be honest. You word out exactly how I feel about CVs at the moment. I never understood how they didn't focus on really balancing and fixing CV during CBT (then again, I think they had a fixed timetable of crapping out the game ASAP regardless of bugs/issues found). It has always felt like a poorly thought out thing that they grudgingly had to add. I was looking forward to CVs, because I like the class itself and they look cool. But eventually I barely ever play them... Mostly because of the bad interface and bugs. Anyone still seriously playing CV has my sympathy. You get shat on by about everyone for playing it (and called names), cause nobody bothers to figure out how to counter CVs. Even if we nerf them to the point where they would not do anything anymore, that will not change. There always has to be a scapegoat. -
Which has been posted about 10 times already in this thread (and many others). But he ignores it.
-
Zapata, you are not listening to anybody here. Seriously... It has been explained to you quite a few times what was happening, but you have refused to learn from it. Again: Learn. The. Game. Mechanics.
-
I miss manuals. There often was a lot of background stories in it as well. Talking about tutorials. They could do simple ones to explain the spotting mechanics. The basics are really not that difficult.
-
I will repeat myself: GO READ SOME MORE ON THIS FORUM. Stop posting. Start learning about the game's mechanics. THEN come back to us how DDs can be invisible closer then 5-6km. I am telling you right now. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. Christ. And to also reply to the post in another thread you made. Smokescreens work both ways. A DD in a smokescreen CANNOT detect you. ugh, I've long ago lost my patience on this forum. People REALLY need to learn game mechanics before they start spilling out [edited].
-
Tip: read around at the forums first. You might find that whatever you have to say has been said about a billion times before. This IS an arcade game! Get that in your head. oh btw. realism. - BBs cant hit anything anymore (nor can anyone else) - CVs are the only relevant class, rest is only there to protect it - torps cannot necessarily be seen anymore - no instant repair or heal. - battles take a minimum of a few hours to days need I go on?
-
Actually, I am usually quite apprehensive about allied Tirpitz players near me... For some reason a lot of players in general think that torping something 20km away is sure to be usefull regardless the ship they are in.
-
Did you mean to quote me? If so, read my post again.
-
I am fairly certain that not that many people have the Bismarck yet, because it isn't out that long. I do not agree with you that we can compare the popularity just on the basis of the torpedoes. One is a premium ship that has been available for a year or so, the other is a tier 8 ship that you need to grind out, which will take time. In any case. Those few BBs that have torpedoes (Scharn, Gnei and Tirp) have only 6km range with them. If you play smart, you will not get within this range. If you do, you can still avoid them or only take 1 (or maybe this is something weird that I do?). Going that close to another BB is really a last resort anyways.

Some thoughts in the 1st year of this game.
Loran_Battle replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
Not another thread... When will it stop! All I read here was "I have no clue how this game works and refuse to learn its mechanics. I also only want to whine about realism when it suits me." Maybe we need another gamemode where only BBs can join. And they can have a realistic hit percentage on their main guns . I would like to see the whine that comes out of that, it might be more amusing than this constant crap all year long. -
The economics of the Prinz Eugen cammo
Loran_Battle replied to BadGene616's topic in General Discussion
200 games is too much in my opinion. For me at least. My most played ship is the Tirpitz with 86.... games... yes... and that is from someone who played 2600+ games... So 200 games will probably not happen soon. Don't get me wrong, I love the looks of the camo and I wish I'd had the choice between either one of them upon buying. But I'm not going to put down 3k gold to a ship that is already quite expensive, just to have +10% credits and a nice camo. On the Texas it was already a bit of a stretch, but that was compensated by the pure fun to be had with it.- 4 replies

Have you read the forums lately? It is exactly as predicted long ago during CBT. Every class will be whined about by BB players. After the CVs and DDs got nerfed, not it is the cruisers turn! After that, we begin the cycle again, with CVs obviously. BBs are underpowered I tell you!
-
I've got over 2500 games and only this weekend bought the Yamato, my first tier 10. I've got premium and my average xp is quite decent (I guess). I'm just not really in a rush to get all the tier 10 ships. It will happen eventually anyways (and I won't play them much anyways probably). Then again, I have all the other lines op to tier 8 or 9, except the german BBs (tier 5 there). So that might have an influence as well

Wargaming...skill based..matchmaking...now!
Loran_Battle replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in General Discussion
Well, I just had a tirpitz in my team that just started complaining that the tirpitz is so much worse than the bismarck. He proceeded to move to the back of the map and basically beached himself there and didn't do anything. Can we please get a special 'skill' matchmaking for these kind of people? -
Right one is indeed random, while the left one is generated the same, but with an added rule that a point cannot be next to another one. Point is, RNG will produce streaks. But humans usually think that it means the RNG is bad. I'm not saying I don't get annoyed by it though. Sometimes it feels like the game is completely against you.
-
Actually if an RNG generator does not produce any streaks, it might not be that good. On the other hand if streaks are all you get, it is not that good either. It is REALLY hard to tell if something is truly random for a human brain. Since we look for correlation in everything. Which one of the following is truly random, without any correlation?
-
Can I get your BBs? mine just sit behind islands doing nothing or sit at the edge of the map in epicentre (god I hate that mode).
-
I often come online seeing a message from a friend he send the night before, asking if I'm online. He has seen me as online, but I am most certainly not. So it is possible.... As Tyrendian says though: it depends wholly on the mood of the chat system.
-
Well. Since the chat system is still not working properly at all and has not changed or fixed in over 1.5 years (since beginning of CBT). I wouldn't count on it. BUT, your idea isn't bad. It would be nice to have that. Meanwhile I'm just waiting untill WG finally fixes the many problems with the chat system.

Wargaming...skill based..matchmaking...now!
Loran_Battle replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in General Discussion
Skilled matchmaking is not a good idea. If all things are equal in a match, then the chances of either team winning is 50%. Therefore everyone tends towards 50% winrate. Except when you are still learning and your skills are increasing. But there is an upper limit to this. That being said: I myself hate matches where it is extremely one-sided. But I don't think we can really do anything about it. As for winrate being completely random... errr..... Ok, guess I'm really lucky then -
minimap settings resetting every game
Loran_Battle replied to Loran_Battle's topic in General Discussion
I've got 135+ ships... Dear god why do they make us do this... edit... well I guess for those who want different info on certain ships... still annoying for me though :p -
So, though I kinda don't want to make a thread about it, I still want to ask. Anybody else have to keep enabling all the extra setting on the minimap after every game? No mods, except for the official one since today. And I had the problem earllier as well. Might try uninstalling it later to be sure. Just curious if anybody else has the same problem and/or a solution.

Home built (several upgrades already) Antec 700? case (not sure, its 10 years old by now, nothing in it is from the original rig, except the DVD/blueray thingy) CPU: i7 875k @4.05 GHz (currently 3.6GHz though, since there is a heatwave going on).CPU Cooler: ZALMAN CNPS 10X ExtremeRAM: 16 Gb DDR3 (Crucial Ballistics 2x8Gb) 900 MHz CL6-5-5-12 (auto settings, might change it a bit)Motherboard: EVGA P55 FTW 200Videocard: EVGA GTX980 FTW 4Gb HDD: 3x Samsung F1? 1 TB + a few other HDDs, total of about 8Tb... OS: windows 10 home edition 64bitMouse: Razor DeathAdderKeyboard: Razor DeathStalkerHeadset: Logitech G35 monitors: Samsung 32" TV/monitor combo as a second screen. Main screen is a 32" TV that was my grandma's. Its a philips TV thats all I know... Normally runs the game at max settings (except AA) on about 50-60 fps. So I'm fine. Bottleneck for this game is mostly the lack of a SSD and the older CPU. But it runs most games near max settings.
