It’s not just the bordeline OP thing, it’s the playstyle that is the problem. Creating a borderline OP ship which requires little effort due to a unique combination of properties is what upsets people here. If HE spam would be super difficult to achieve ppl would be ok with the RN ships.

Well the use DCP has certain limitations. The consequences are more passive games as you pretty much can’t move in the open as two times three fires are not DCPable. So yea, all you got is more stale boring camping behind islands. And that’s EXACTLY what this game needs in high tiers - more exciting camping. To your point: YES these threads do serve a purpose. It took some uproar to convince WG they delivers crap on GZ - it is very valid to express ones opinion on the RN BBs as well so WG can finally fix them. @wilkatis_LV you won’t convince anyone here that your precious Monq is a positive addition to the game for said reasons. OP or not - it’s toxic for the meta

Funny how some fanboys still scream “don’t nerf my monqueror” It is pisspoor game design to create a line that doesn’t require any sort of skill but is on the other hand highly rewarding the idiots playing them. HE is not skill dependent and just RNG / point and click roughly toward the enemy and wait for RNG to hit (dispersion) and start fires. Angle? Distance? Where to hit? Totally irrelevant. A game for braindead monkeys. My problem isn’t even they Monq is OP but the toxic and braindead playstyle these ships brought to the game.

Ja auf den unteren Rängen ist sie absolut ausreichend. Hab ein paar Spiele bis R10 gemacht und als Gegner meist Bismarcks und DDs gehabt. Da ist sie mit ihren Amagi Kanonen halt super und eine schöne Überraschung bei CVs. Aber klar, Amagi ist halt einen Hauch stärker durche die Panzerung und das Sigma

Gunboats. But I am a history buff so the Soviet fantasy fleet is rather unattractive to me. The ships are pretty good though, like small cruisers with railguns and without citadel. Playing them from time to time but not in a rush. Have fun

Nice :-) Can you maybe indicate what outfit you are looking for? I guess Hiei at T5 is probably an early config? Same for Yamashiro? And is Harima the 6x2 30cm Dreadnought? And in what configuration / year? Owari at T9 might be an issue as her sister is already a T8 prem.

Als Kapitän-Build habe ich bei 10pts: 1: PM 2: LS 3: extra HP (SE) 4: CE Ich möchte für 12.7cm Kanonen bauen. Was ist mit den übrigen 9 pts am sinnvollsten aus eurer Sicht? 1) BFT, Torpedoreload und SI 2) BFT, Torpreload, AR, Priority Target 3)...irgendwas anderes?

I think you are bringing up multiple important points here: 1) T8 Cruisers in particular struggle at the moment due to a lack of clear role, vulnerability and limited striking power 2) their special abilities (like DefAA) isn’t much needed due to increasing versatility of BB and DD class. So they don’t really have a point of existence. I wouldn’t appreciate more smoke as the maps are quite smoked up already and I don’t like the passive game that comes with it (other than for DDs). I rather think there are two logical consequences: 1) reduce citadels on cruiser to slightly reduce the excessive vulnerability. The overboarding firepower and increasing accuracy of higher tier BBs is a problem that needs to be met with either reducing the former or reducing the cruisers citadel. In parallel it would be good to enlarge the citadels on BBs to make BB vs BB fights great again. 2) cut down harshly the versatility on BBs and DDs to force ppl into combined forces thinking. Ideally the only versatile class would be the cruiser.

Ja sicher gibt es im Dogfight bessere Spezialisten aber die Vielseitigkeit, Hydro und die dicken Knarren machen schon irgendwie Laune.

:-) In der Tat, Geschmäcker sind verschieden. Zur Pen kann ich f_nordisk Pen Diagramme empfehlen. Daran siehst du sehr gut die Unterschiede. Klar, Overmatch ist nach wie vor eine Stärke aber mittlerweile sind es halt schon vier im Club. Aber ich mag sie schon auch, so ist es nicht.

1) PEN ist die schlechteste auf T6 (Mutsu ist einen Tick weniger schlecht aber auch mies) Klar, Überlebensfähig ist ihre Stärke und Long Range AA mit dem beknackten B Rumpf auch (warum zum Eimer gerade Long Range AA eine Deutsche Spezialität sein soll verstehe wer will). Klare Schwächen sind die 8 Rohre mit schlechter Genauigkeit und mieser PEN. Sicher, schlecht ist sie nicht aber halt eher unspannend und auf mit der Kombi 4x2 + schlechte Genauigkeit wesentlich weniger komfortabel als eine 5 oder 6x2 Konfig (z.B. König) oder eine genaue 4x2 wie Nagato mit der IJN Disperson + 2.0 Sigma

Die 128mm Flak ist in der Tat die einzige deutsche Kanone, die annähernd die Bezeichnung „DP“ verdient. DPs waren weder in der RM noch KM besonders hoch in der Prio.

Hmm. Also “eines der besten” ist schwer relativ. Die T6er liegen alle ziemlich nah beieinander. Es gibt relativ starke Spezialisten (Dunkerque mit ihren Railguns und über-pen, Mutsu mit den dicken Vorachlaghammern, Fuso die Gießkanne, mit der man nicht mal zielen muss) da ist Bayern halt irgendwie unspektakulär. Klar, Turtleback ist schön aber sie ist eher ein unauffälliger Vertreter der 6er BBs würde ich sagen.

Awesom, so our border-huggers can at least team-torp their own spawn.... Nah, Torps are nice for damage peaks in close combat but the guns are what makes the battleship. If they buff her it should be sigma (or for me because I like fireworks the Secondaries).

@DerNackteWahnsinn Schönes Schiff! Und ich weiß, es geht um das Schiffchen-Bauen aber ich schaue unwillkürlich immer auf den Zweck. Und da bist du bei deinem Schiff tatsächlich eher schon beim O-Klasse Konzept. Diese überarmierten Monsterkreuzer, die als Teil einer Taskforce Geleitzüge zusammenschießen sollten. Da sie aber groß und mies gepanzert waren, wurden sie scherzhaft „Ohne-Panzer-Quatsch“ getauft, Eine Alliteration auf ihre vorläufigen Baunummern O, P, Q. Mit anderen Worten, dem Konzept eines großen, teuren Schiffes mit starker Feuerkraft gegen alles bis Kreuzergrösse aber ohne wirklichen Schutz stand man bereits damals skeptisch gegenüber. Durchaus etwas, was es bei der Auslegung deines Schiffes wenigstens zu bedenken gibt. Ansonsten bin ich aber sehr gespannt, wie sich dein Schiff weiterentwickelt!

Your guess it was it confirmed by WG? I don’t think FreeXP ships are a regular thingy but more of an ad-hoc possibility if the need arises (ppl accumulating truck loads of FreeXP and have no sink for it or if there is an uproar about Nelson not being in the branch). My bet would be no FreeXP ship at all.
