Issue for me is that - just returning from almost half a year break - realized that the high tier meta didn’t improve. It’s even worse in my opinion - too much of everything and WAY to campy and passive. Whoever dares to peak out behind an island gets blobbed hard. And as DD you get constant radar’d and blobbed. And for this environment WG tries to sell me a ship...? I think I pass and wish everyone the best of luck and fun. But not for me.

TL;DR: high tier meta is boring so put it somewhere else? Not that I disagree but that’s not a reason.

So she is indeed inbound? Not a huge surprise but but sure how I feel about these ships. I am normally for putting this type in into the T10 CA spot but I am not interested in Alaska and Kronstadt the slightest. Let’s see.

Well yes sure. What I meant was that the absolute differences in capabilities as pretty small at that tier compared to higher tiers. All ships do mostly the same.

Ich finde es hochinteressant, wie sich hier alle - 4 Seiten lang - über die Unmöglichkeit der Asashio aufregen. Ich habe sie mir mal aus Neugier gekauft und angetestet. Bei Licht betrachtet finde ich sie verhältnismäßig unspektakulär: - ja die Torps sind schnell aber man torpediert damit trotzdem auf die gleiche Distanz wie mit 12km Aalen. Lustiger Nebeneffekt sind da eher Zufallstreffer auf hinten abpimmelnde BBs, die noch nicht einmal aufgeklärt sind - Teamorientiert? Aus meiner Sicht trifft das Gegenteil von dem, was hier behauptet wird zu. Sie ist auf Teamarbeit mit Kreuzern angewiesen weil sie typisch IJN DD im Nahkampf anderen DDs unterlegen ist. Aber das ist doch bei den Silberfischen auch so? Problematisch hier ist mehr der Kampf gegen Kreuzer (die derzeit alle Radar zu haben scheinen und zahlreich auftreten), da braucht man BB Deckungsfeuer - bloß sind die meist völlig out of Position (daher wäre es schön, wenn die Aale wenigstens auch Kreuzer treffen könnten) - gute Tarnung. Davon lebt sie. Man muss relativ nah ran, am Kreuzerschirm vorbei um in eine gute Schussposition auf die dicken Eimer zu gelangen. Und dann Radar.... naja aber das ist halt auch nicht anders als bei anderen anti-Dickschiff DDs (IJN) In sofern finde ich die Hysterie etwas seltsam. Klar kann man damit zu Spielbeginn mal eine glückliche Salve in den gegnerischen Spawnbereich jagen aber es erfordert schon gute Mapkenntnis und viel Glück und das ist es eigentlich auch schon. Ich habe eher das Gefühl, dass das Flamu Video hier die Meinung stark beeinflusst statt eigene Erfahrung.

Kümmert nicht - glaube ich eher nicht. Die Schlachtkreuzer sind schon ein beliebter Baum unter Schiffsenthusiasten denke ich und WG weiß das. Fand den ersten Wurf der Stats mit Ausnahme des Concealments aber auch schon sehr gut.

Damit enttäuscht du mich überhaupt nicht :-) Finde diese Art Fred allerdings immer irgendwie bisschen überflüssig und sich stark wiederholend. Einer sagt „Bismarck = stronk!“, der nächste Dödel posted das immer gleiche Bingo-Bild (haha war vor 200 Jahren mal witzig) und dann plätschert die Sinn- und inhaltsleere Diskussion ihrem absehbaren Ende entgegen. Deswegen fahre ich jetzt mit meinem (sehr alten) Diesel über die (böse Nazi-) Autobahn zum Flughafen und dann mit dem (ebenfalls alten) Großraumjet in die Ski-Ferien (im Sommer) #Vote for close

And it’s not like anyone cared. She was a fun little ship and probably will stay one. Now Bellophone is at least equal if not better but the differences at T3 are really not the large so who cares. I like that South Carolina and Kawachi get something though. But the real biggy is Ashitaka :-) SOOO looking forward to receive proper shells for her :-)

WOOOOOOHOOOO!!!! That is great & swift news! This change sounds exactly like what this beauty needs! Hope these Ashitaka changes make it to live (and while they sound powerful we need to consider she faces T9 and has 1.8 vs Nagato’s 2.0 Sigma + the mentioned pronounced vulnerability). Thank you guys - you certainly made my day!! Ashitaka-hype intensifies :-)

There should be a second BB line for Germany but it should be the Battlecruisers. We already have an assortment of H-Class ships and even souped up H-Classes. For me that’s plenty to be honest - would love to see some real / non-fantasy ships though.

Thank you for your support and a very warm welcome! Unfortunately there is no automatic transfer from the Mikasa-Society (which I indeed also signed up for and inspired this thread & group) into this group. However you are signed up now - great to have you on board!

While it might give you an idea the T7 Version is different in some key aspects. First and foremost the matchmaking. Plus she has better firing range and much better handling, i.e. ruddershift. She actually feels quite alright compared to the old A-Hull. Downside of the rebalancing is the T7 25mm bow armor which seems to be endless long and she lost the plane (which is a non-issue as the range got buffed to an absolutely sufficient level). What stayed the same is the poor citadel protection and the Type 88 shells. So - I get she is not popular everywhere and I am not against joking but note that there are people who really like the ship as such. And it would be a pity of she would remain in the A-crap-aka corner any longer! EDIT: funny forum software changing bad nicknames

Yes she seems unexplainable unpopular. I do have her and like her - but her two main weaknesses in combination are just harsh and I admit I didn’t play her as much as I would like to. Tbh I think she really doesn’t need that much at all to make her MUCH more fun. However I am glad you already like her as she is right now.

Good points as always VC! I would be against manoeuvrability quality of live changes as it would totally contradict her enormous size - which you kinda feel at the moment. You have a point about survivability but it is really kind of extreme - almost every hit from a BB goes straight to the citadel. I am not against that but it could be slightly toned down as one of the options. Accuracy is actually already decent - I think she gets the tight-at-range IJN pattern with 1.8 Sigma and with 10 guns it feels good. Issue is more the constant shattering. Which - again is fine against T6-8 but especially T9 which you see quite often is harsh. Long story short: I agree that the (in my opinion needed buff) should be indeed applied on the striking power side. That’ll leave her with a strong character. I would gladly take accuracy (Sigma) but as said, the most benefit would be a little more penetration.

She is beautiful but she indeed struggles a bit. If WG would buff either the AP shells (for me preferable as it would even more pronounce her BC role - just in more capable) or alternatively her citadel protection (which is really really bad) it would absolutely suffice. Seriously - she is actually a pretty good representation of what the AMAGIs would have been. Lots of firepower for their time and awful protection. She likely just would have exploded on first contact with the enemy. For the game that is a bit of an issue though. Quite honest - she feels more like a T6 despite her on paper impressive artillery. Hence my request for a little buff

Mich glaube „Talent“ braucht man nicht. Das meiste kommt mit der Übung. T4 is übrigens zum Üben in sofern netter, als dass du maximal T5 siehst. Falls du einen Tipp möchtest - spiel einfach auf den unteren Stufen und probiere ein bisschen herum. Verschiedene Schiffe, wechsle mal zwischen AP und HE, probiere mal weiter nach vorn, mal mehr kn der Mitte, usw. Dann fällt der Groschen meist schnell - WOWS ist eigentlich ein ziemlich simples Spiel. Und im Lowtier stört das Rumprobieren niemanden :-) Viel Spaß und Mast und Schotbruch
