Fumny you mention this. I find it to be the exact opposite way around. The CV is much closer now to the ships and the team. Yes the air cover currently only works by dropping a fighter squad in front of the enemy strike but there seems to be much more interaction now. Also when playing as a normal ship you deal a lot more with planes. In the past I ignored CVs unless they were coming for me. Even that had this huge impact into didn’t feel like they are there and if just annoying and without counterplay. Such as being perma spotted in your DD the whole game. Or being crossdropped by 100 torps. Apart from that the CVs never felt like being a part of the game. That is totally changed in the rework. They can’t do the above any more but are still powerful and feel a lot more present and as part of the game. And you can’t call Flak a mini game. It is just a better visualization of AA power. There’s a slight chance you can dodge some bubbles which is kind of fun but AA ships just lay a barrage of clouds you can’t avoid (such as Wurst-er). -

How is the rest of the game not repetitive...? Especially the RTS part? Don’t get your point sorry. However there is hiding behind islands now I thought so actually that is different to the old version? -

Punkt ist halt: vier haben bereits vier Zerstörer mit Heissdampf (die Z1934) aber wir wissen, dass wir zum Diesel wollen. Daher würde ich auf unsern beiden Testschiffen für Diesel plädieren, sowie die „richtige“ Turmaufstellung testen. Daher sind Zwillinge da eine gute Idee, Frage bleibt halt ob wir lieber A-X-Y oder A-B-X nehmen. Da bin ich unschlüssig. Klar kommt dann sowas wie 33/34kn bei raus. Dullman‘s Zerstörer soll 33,5km machen. Das ist zwar nicht toll aber als Führungsschiff für Torpedoboote evtl trotzdem ok. Und hätte das Schiff dann nicht auch gute Ausdauer beim „sprinten“ wenn man die 33kn als solches bezeichnen kann? -

Now you can even aim at specific parts of the ships with DBs. I find dive bombers extremely fun now! TBs feel a bit weaker than in the old version and Rockets are just HE shotguns. But I think in general it is nice to have these different plane types. -

Agree that balancing isn’t finalized yet. Also agree that taking control of the CV anytime needs to be implemented in the next iteration. Furthermore would like to see the planes to be a bit more agile tbh. Maybe not much but a little. However - my biggest complaint are the fighters. I don’t like it at all. I agree with your CV catapult fighter / CAP consumable against CV sniping. But do you have a good suggestion how fighters could be implemented better ? -

Ein Gedanke hatte ich zum 2.000t Zerstörer noch: wenn unser neuer Eskalations-Zerstörer Diesel bekommen soll, wäre es dann nicht schlauer die Vorstufe auch mit Dieseln auszurüsten auch wenn wir da evtl Leistungseinbußen hinnehmen müssten ? -

Ja klar, und je kleiner desto mehr Speed verlierst du in der Welle. Wobei, sagtest du nicht Parchim-Klasse? Die wäre ja schon noch eine Zacken leichter als der 1.500t Zerstörer. Wie war das denn auf vergleichbaren Schiffen, wie den ganzen kleinen Englischen Typen vor der Tribal? Z.B. Den G-Class oder so? -

Also a couple of suggestions from me: 1) option to switch between CV and squadron control during flight (was proposed a couple of times herearwady). That would solve also triggering DCP, DFAA, etc 2) Create incentive to keep planes alive. I would much rather have a limited hangar capacity. When deplaned a slow re-plane mode could kick in so you are still able to do something - but less easy and should still force you to keep planes alive. This would be similar to assembling reserve planes on a real carrier. This should take time and reduce the squadron size 3) fighters: I would suggest to at least test the CAP around the CV. Meaning a squadron of catapult fighters which can fend of strikes around the carrier and its close vicinity. Instead of having this ability on squadron level. Still also other mechanics should be thought about here -

@Crysantos - as you asked about feedback, here is mine: first impression is very positive. I think WG is on the right track. GOOD: - immersion - finally ! - interaction between CV/planes and ships much increased - Flak dodging is a lot more fun than it sounds - visuals - drops are pretty skill based rather than RNG UNSURE: - feels like constantly en route to target area as planes at T6 die so easily. Hence you strike once or twice and switch back to CV. Better would be more staying power over the target area and to punish airplane losses harder. At the same time planes should be less easy to shoot down - plane control feels indeed a little sluggish - to be at least discussed BAD/NEEDS CHANGES: - manual control of CV. Currently only possible when no planes are up - that needs to be available at any time, same for activation of DCP and such - fighters. Plain awful. You drop fighters into the path of the enemy strike and the fighters shred the enemy strike. Plain wrong. Either the fighters should only defend the area of the CV like a “Combat Air Patrol” or it should be something totally different. The current iteration isn’t fun at all unfortunately -

I wouldn’t be against planes fighting planes but I doubt it’s gonna happen as WG wants to heavily push the ship - plane interaction. Which is exactly what this rework. Haven’t fully made up my mind but the current fighter mechanics are really bad. So yes, very positive direction but fighters and control of CV need to change -

My first Impression: Very positive! Not perfect but on the Right track. PLUS: Immersion - feels far less detached more interaction between ships and planes dropping Looks Pretty Player skill rewarding and very Little RNGish evading the Flak bubbles is a lot more fun than it sounds (I know the Concept sounds awkward but it is Kind of funy to Play) visuals+ to be improved (in my opinion): Option to Change to CV also while planes are up in the air through a simple button, eg. "1" Same for DCP and such, you should be able to take Control of the CV any time and not Abandon the squadron Fighters I don't LIKE at all. You just call them somewhere in the path of the enemy Squadron and they shred the strike. The mechnics are not fun. I would either propose a consumable "Combat Air Patrol" that patrols close to the carrier or something totally different. the current model isn't nice in my opinion no reward to Keep planes ALife. yes there is a cooldown and such but it could be more pronounced That are very first impressions though - but first and foremost: it seems a lot of fun to Play! -

UPDATE: habe im Results Fred mal den „neuen“ Antrieb des Schlachtkreuzers auf den Stand gebracht. Bei der Gelegenheit ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich bei der „Friedrich der Große“ die 4x2 15cm L/55 unterschlagen hatte - ist jetzt korrigiert EDIT: plus Daten des 1.500t Zerstörers hinzugefügt. Außerdem hat das Torpedoboot 1936 jetzt auf Wunsch einiger hier ein Spiegelheck wie das TB1923/24 EDIT 2: @Walther_K_Nehring hat die "Friedrich der Große" das gleiche Arrangement? würde sich ja evtl. anbieten? Dann hätte sie nochmal 10.000 PS max mehr unter der Haube? -

Usually you can’t “just angle and rush the Gralinstad” because she will not be alone and you can’t get close enough. HE Spam is the only way and not a real good one. However the original question was whether there is still a reason to play Moskva? -
