I also do it but it feels soooo dumb to bomb water as a workaround for mechanics! Give us a choice how many planes we want to take to the sky would be a start

Was wäre wenn...? Wilson's Warplan

@Graf_Orlok / @Walther_K_Nehring / @Dullman84 Yr voting zum Englischen Kompromiss pls? -
Don’t take Enterprise as an example. She’s OP compared to other CVs - yes. But she isn’t the one scale to go by Don’t you see a problem with that? Predrop everything (silly workaround) and go kamikaze (silly mechanics)? Do you find that enjoyable? See the difference is: as a BB there is no problem with risking some HP. You can heal back a lot and overall the class is extremely forgiving and still give relatively high rewards for the effort you put in. In a CV your ship HP is completely irrelevant unless it drops below 1 HP. All you care about is your planes’ HP really. And there is little left to play with after the changes. It used to be but not anymore. Now in a BB you have a lot to play with (large pool, Heal, etc). Big difference.
-
That is a joke right? Playing BBs is much more forgiving, needs minimal effort and skill and gives medium or more rewards. From a “forgiving-ness” perspective it is probably BB > CA/CV > DD
-
You have a certain amount of planes and a regeneration sure. However saying there is no risk because your ship parks behind an island is wrong. The planes are at risk at any time and are not “endless” as some claim here. It is simple math. The planes are your way to take part in the battle and they are at tremendous risk.
-
Your posts don’t deserve much more than that sadly No planes are not the weapons. The CV is different in that you control two avatars. One is rather passive (the ship) and one is active (the squadron). The HP of the squadron is all you have to take any action in the battle, scouting, striking. Sure. There are no “real” risks in a video game. The only “risks” are “return to port” or “not take part in the battle without your planes”. Both mean - you are not taking part in the match (one just takes longer).
-
err nope
-
About the fact that planes Need to bring themselves into AA auras to attack whereas DDs have some flexibility there and have no automatic melting aura against them. The CV is different as you Control two Units rather than one. You are Right that you are usually not at Risk to be sent to port immediately but with each and every attack you Risk to continue to take part in the battle. Which is unique among the four classes. Hence I don't agree with the "no-risk" part. It's certainly different. I am not decided on the reward part either. Wut?
-
…. yes and plane weapons don't reach out the same way as DD weapons do, no? What makes you think this? I see the "Risk" part for CV a Little different I guess (and also the reward part)
-
The AA change in 0.8.5 had the effect that there are very few ways to mitigate plane losses. You can’t use the squadron HP anymore - yes you can use some few exploits but that should be it? Your analogy with the radar isn’t really good though. While radar can suck when in a DD there are ways how one can deal with it. A better analogy would be if secondary guns would melt your DD via Aura from 15km away.

Interessant. Geht mir tatsächlich genauso. Eigentlich reizt mich das Schiff aber meine Laune hier Geld zu lassen statt bei meinem Weinhändler hält sich gerade in deutlich überschaubaren Grenzen. Naja uns hetzt ja keiner

Blue sky, sunny and a fresh breeze.

You probably know as good as I do that this statement doesn’t reflect the effect of AA. See the problem isn’t necessary only the absolute power level of a CV but that these changes changed CV play towards a pretty brainless kamikaze mini game. All incentives to preserve the planes, play with the Heal and the squadron HP which made the rework initially good from an idea perspective is consumed now by a dull numbers counter. X sec in Aura B kills Y planes automatically. You don’t really need to play it out as all results are predetermined upfront. It is incredibly dull
-
a) I don’t think I told anyone to “just dodge” b) CVs aren’t even my favourite class - I like all four and play all four (with DDs and CVs probably more recently and cruiser a little less as I find them increasingly boring in play style) c) my feelings are quite ok right now - Cheers :-) d) for my simple mind the world is always easy. You deliver something of value you get money for it. Or: you f* up and you clean up. Sh* happens. So if WG isn’t capable of delivering a balanced CV experience they need to fix it but they need to give players who don’t want to be part of that bumpy journey the option to opt out. Afterwards: clean slate
-
See that’s not a bad start. Image they release ALL premium DDs at once and afterwards give all other ships radar. Next they restore full AP pens on your DDs and make secondary gun range on all ships much better and give them amazing accuracy. All of that after stating “Balans is done”. Now - would you appreciate it? PS they may buff a certain captain perk to allow you 5 extra HP per tier - which is a huge game changer if a cruiser or B.B. volley takes 3/4 of your health regardless. Sounds like a good way to approach this?
-
That is correct my dude
-
Mate you joking? How is AA surface ships’ business? Do ships fire their AA at each other in any way? AA is exclusively CV “balancing”
-
Your point was that there is no reason for a refund as you denied my point that they were sold under completely different assumptions and conditions. Nothing to do with putting words in your mouth. And I am currently not arguing about general balance but about the significant discrepancy between “as sold” and now. Hence my request. Which btw would end these discussions as you are either on board or call it a day and have fun woth your worthless dubloons.
-
Because you are denying a significant difference between the state when they were announced “balanced” and sold and now and in 0.8.7
-
Which is ok - at least it is what it is. But after multiple fundamental changes they should give players the choice if they want to continue on this journey
-
So was speed for Graf Zeppelin Don’t try to talk you out if that. We are not speaking about some meta changes but about the difference between the state when WG announced “Premium CVs balanced and ready to be sold” and today and 0.8.7. Precisely Except from: aircraft speed, boost characteristics, AA, AA, AA buttons, AA (essentially reverse adjusting HP), floodings, etc I am wondering if you try to be funny or if you are indeed dead serious on this...? That is unfortunately not what comes out of your posts but I would appreciate that
-
I am interested in overall class balance. Certainly we disagree on where we are with that but that is only one part of the discussion and I am not going to rediscuss all of that right now. Point is: if the environment and rules for a premium get changed to a degree where it is significantly different they should offer refund - idem Kutuzov.
-
I do see how certain opinions lead to very situational conclusions. And yes I dismiss these in case they are double standard. Btw I got a refund option offered after the smoke fire changed for Kutuzov. And your opinion is very one sided so my interest indeed declined a little I admit
-
Sorry dude that is just Hater BS. Of course the changes to stealth fire brought balance as well that’s what they did it. Still if fundamentally changed the experience hence why they offered the refunds. And btw I even kept Kutuzov - but it was a conscious decision not just a dishonest ripoff And that is the big difference. WG isn’t playing it smart if they try to do the ripoff as it costs ultimately a lot of trust. And what do they lose? Freaking worthless doubloons nobody has a use for anyway. WG is playing it the worst possible way - hence why I have this little hint/suggestion: do it smart
-
Eventhough they are not - it doesn’t even matter. If you change the game you need to keep the trust. Pretty simple as trust is what spends money. Why do you think the backed down from uptiering GC? Not because of balance but because trust in premiums not butchered weighs heavier than the needed balance. Your comment just shows that you simply dislike CVs and doesn’t add anything to the actual problem
