World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

You already know that I am not Agree that this would an “easy-to-implement” improvement. easier than player controlled fighters - however how could these work in the current 2d movement?

World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

Not really. It just sucked As said I just started around that time and the removal made CV Play beyond dumb and lame. However I will not enter any general CV discussion here. I am more interested in what you think about OP’s proposal and specifically about fighters? These are pretty garbage as is and I am sure you have an opinion on how to make a fighter model within the known setting? Just buffing doesn’t seem like a big gain

World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

And see who is coming with averages finally On a more serious note: I started with RTS CVs just before they removed manual drops from T4+5. If Rework Hosho outperforms RTS Hosho on average I would account that to Accessibility and the influx of camping (longer battles?) into low tiers

Hosho torp nerf.... what about it

Tend to disagree here. Spotting isn’t an issue on small T4 maps. It was more the constant harassment without much to put up against it. And people tend to be not very experienced and panic in the face of that chip damage. I don’t think you should restrict the lowest tiers at all. But starting the CVs at T5 or 6 would help probably

World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

I agree some fighter action would be nice. The OP’s proposal was to simply buff them but I don’t think this would bring any benefit honestly. Manual fighters would be nice - maybe even replace rocket planes with manual controlled fighters?

World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

This statement is so ridiculously wrong and off topic that it hurts. RTS Hosho was vastly more broken than anything we know today. It was as bad as they removed half of the controls but even with silly autodrops it clubbed anything at will. It would be better discuss the proposal at hand - this general Blabla should go into the sticky thread/bin. Btw does anyone know the results of the spotting tests WG performed internally? Apart from a strange test setup I mean?

Like playing T1 in a divi..?

Hosho torp nerf.... what about it

Yep - the best way would be to start CVs only at T5. You could almost uptier the pre-Nerf Hosho to T5 although T7s would be harsh. And honestly I don’t think WG is going to do that anyway. Old Hosho only had TBs and Fighters - that would be also an option. Give T4 CVs only two rather than three strike squadrons. Eg. Just Torps and RFs or so. Dunno

Hosho torp nerf.... what about it

It will make a difference. It’s been like that initially and everyone was joking about how lame and boring T4 CVs are. But guess what - T3+4 AA is equally lame so it was an equilibrium of uselessness. And as WG refused to put CVs at T5+++ that is the only reasonable way. Not ideal but better and a good step

    General Submarines related discussions

I think WG is right by taking the time with the subs. A lot of feedback from the past couple of rounds was incorporated in the following iteration. I still think a lot needs to change before Subs could enter Randoms - eg. remove pinging and infinite diving specifically. But the good part: it’s not rushed out half backed (yet)

    Was wäre wenn...? Wilson's Warplan

World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

While that looks like it’s as true as it is sad I think the big garbage bin thread was only put in place because the non-constructive discussion was so loud and did not allow for any reasonable exchange of thoughts

I think it is not so much about AA but more about creating non-stop action and reduce the idle time en route instead. But yea I would appreciate if losses would matter and could on the other hand be avoided. I don’t like spammy mechanics

VF? You count the one time consumable on Shokaku 27 times...? You could count them as one squadron of - six? But no matter how - these are not 27 planes my dude So TBs and DBs are about the same as said - give or take. Now - RFs are about the same as fighter bevor - and if you want you can add a squadron on top. That would be 30/30/40 vs (27+6)/30/37 Counting every single consumable fighter is intentionally misleading

World of Warships balancing the CV rework proposal:

That is exactly what would help here - a more constructive discussion

    General CV related discussions.

Although the question would be how to count a one time consumable in this case. Probably the number in a fighter squadron once or so. Well not really. An attack squadron has at least 3 wings - a lot of times even more. The only time you could broadly compare the scenarios could be if you only attack with the last wing or with the last two.

“Practically” is exactly the point - that is not the case as I just put up the calculation. It is more or less similar to the RTS deck numbers with an odd duck here and there (Hosho) Which is also fine. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Regardless I wanted to correct the common misconception on “infinite” planes which is a nice fairytale but not much more than that.
  24. 1MajorKoenig

    General CV related discussions.

Eventhough rework fighters are not part of your deck — add them if you want. Doesn’t change the overall picture No the difference is in RTS you can keep reserves out of AA and only put the attack wings at risk. That is impossible in the rework. And you receive additional casualties which you have no control over And I see you try to derail. Point is: numbers of planes isn’t significantly different or „infinite“. Yes some small deck CVs benefit from this model but overall it’s broadly comparable within a typical match duration.
