So? That's the whole point of Gamescom.... promoting the game to people that have not played it. Be glad they're not on your team in randoms
-
Yeah the apology for telling the entire playerbase they do not have the skill to properly play the ship is missing. That is the last bit that needs to be adressed. Apart from that, I'm quite content with the statement, altough we all know they won't change the policies, no matter how often they promise us they will

I posted this in the big thread, but I'm gonna leave it here as well because it's appropriate to the announcement. Also I'd like to add a "Thank you" to @Tuccy for staying up late on a Saturday night after some rough Gamescom days to put the announcement up here. ____________________________________________________________________________________ I'm quite content with the statement they released now. However, I think there are two things missing. Practical: let's say somebody bought the top bundle, spent some or even all doubloons on whatever, and is now asking for a refund. What will happen? I mean, it's logical that the ship will be removed, as well as any doubloons still unused, but what about all the already spent stuff from the bundle? The signals, doubloons, the modifications, the consumables, premium time and so on...... Another thing that bothers me is about the apology itself. The things that are written there are fine, however I'm bothered by something that's not written there. I'm talking about the first statement we received via mouth of @Kandly(and in no way am I implying those were her words!). That statement was a fancy way of saying "the ship is fine, you all need to l2p". It also admitted that the ship was not what they wanted it to be (torpedo bombers will be added once new deep torps are ready) and that they were charging us money for an unfinished product. While that statement and the statement we have now are sort of contradicting each other on that point, I can live with that. They said they shouldn't have released Graf Zeppelin and that they're sorry, for me that's enough regarding that part. However, there is no apology for telling the whole EU server (and indirectly all other servers as well) that we lack the skill to make the ship work. I didn't even buy Graf Zeppelin and I feel insulted by that statement. Now, what I'd like regarding those two points. The first is quite easy. Make a nice statement about the way the refunds will be handled. I'm not blaming it's absence, since it't still quite early and it may not be all that concrete yet. But some more information about the practical way the refunds will work would be appreciated. Regarding the second point, I'd like a statement from somebody from EU (you know, the people that started this mess in the first place) with an apology for insulting everybody's playing skills. iChase got (initially) removed from the CC program because he was critical about persons. The person from WG that wrote that text (I'm assuming @Kandly was only the messenger here) was critical about persons as well..... Not saying that guy has actually to get fired, but that statement is the last sting for me that should get taken away. As I said, I'm rather content with the apology statement we have now. It's just that I feel these two things are missing.

It was good to know we had somebody to talk to, and you even came back to us with information. I hope you realise that all the rage was not directed at you, but that we were merely sending the messenger back with a return message for the people in charge. I don't remember who, but somebody said "the only Community Manager that has some balls, is a girl" and that's the truth Thank you for jumping on this mess and taking the beating for the team. I hope we didn't beat you too hard and that you will recover well ;) -
Graff Zeppelin has been removed from the shop

How is giving less rewards for harder missions during the exact same event evidence of working faster? And yes, you actually are a crazy person. None of these quotes has anything to do with unequal treatment between servers. You are completely missing the point of this discussion. This discussion is about Graf Zeppelin. That ship was equally rubbish across all servers (well, except for RU because they didn't get it). It was available across all non RU servers. It was equally priced and bundled. It was pulled from all shops at the same time. Nobody in this whole drama has ever complained about server disparity. You are the first in days to bring that up. Now, if you want to discuss unequal (or in your opinion equal) treatment of servers, by all means go ahead. But do it in the appropriate threads please. Nothing here had anything to do with that until you brought it up. -

No it was too bad to be released there. They had the October Revolution But hey, they treat all servers equally -
Graff Zeppelin has been removed from the shop
Bellegar replied to philjd's topic in General Discussion
No we are not. We are trying to be negative to all of WG. Graf Zeppelin was not a mistake. This drama did not happen because some clumsy person pressed the wrong button. There were news articles about it. @Tuccy and @Ev1n announced it in the Gamescom interview. NA and SEA also put it in the shop, even after the statement about a mistake was made and already debunked by @Kandly. This drama was not a mistake. This was an intentional decision to make players pay 50 euros for an unfinished alpha test ship. They hoped the Gamescom hype would make them get away with it. How wrong they were...... And that answer is obviously a blatant lie. They do not treat all servers equally, but we have other threads for that. -

Wasn't Saturday the last Gamescom day? -
So they pulled the ship from all the shops and deleted the portal articles. Whatever their statement is going to be, by doing this they have made the most important statement possible...... they proved iChase was right and they were wrong to remove him from the CC program

Don't forget the apology the rest of the players deserve for being insulted like this. Markus Schill will have to make another minion write him a nice letter he can put on the portal again -

Graf Zeppelin is an insult to paying customers
Bellegar replied to Ishiro32's topic in General Discussion
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a statement at all and they'll just try to ignore everything that happened in the last few days. They'll fail, because we won't let them ignore it, but I think they're gonna try. And WG EU being careful when responding? You so silly I do truly hope they get it right. As I mentioned before, at this point we'd need a very sincere apology from Markus Schill, or even better, the person(s) responsible for pushing the release through, and a refund for every poor soul that bought this turd of a ship. And of course they should tell us what they're gonna do with the ship now that they admitted it's unfit for selling. It's also pulled from NA and SEA btw. So something is happening...... As they proved right now the work on weekends (even very late on Saturday night), I'm expecting a statement tomorrow instead of Monday.... Very curious what they'll have to say -
Graf Zeppelin is an insult to paying customers
Bellegar replied to Ishiro32's topic in General Discussion
This company is soooo stupid. Either it is a mistake, in which case they are stupid that they make such a mistake. Or it's an intentional release (it does seem that way given the guy in the video says so), in which case they are not only stupid, but also showing huge disrespect to us players. "Gamescom is happening, push out Graf Zeppelin quickly to make some easy money during the Gamescom hype" "But it's not ready yet" "who cares, we need the money and the players won't find out anyways". Just how retarded do they think we are? @Kandly, thanks again for stepping in and taking the beating for the team. Looking forward for more information, but either option is very very bad. May I suggest firing the guy (or girl) responsible and dragging fan favourite Markus Schill out here again to make a public apology to every single player that his team is too retarded to make a proper release and let him personally offer a refund to every poor sod that fell into this trap and bought Graf Zeppelin. -
Oh dear god. Get off your high horse! And who do you think you are to tell anybody how to play a game and what to strive for? Last time I checked I was sane enough to make my own decisions in life, so something as trivial as gaming should be fine. The sole purpose of playing a game if for FUN (well, unless you play it competitively, but randoms are not very competitive). If fun for you means playing T10, please go ahead. But why is it such a problem if people have more fun playing lower tiers? Some people dislike the passive gameplay in high tiers, and instead like the more fast paced chaos in lower tiers. (and don't come here yelling "waah this is not true waah you insulted the holy tier waah I know all waah you are unworthy if you play low tiers waah waah waah". T10 games last longer than T5 games, period) T10 may be the top of the line, but that does not mean everybody should strive for T10 ships. The only thing people should strive for in a game, is fun. I have fun playing T5-8. More T7 lately since T8 MM can be very annoying. What's wrong with that? My T8 ships get dragged up into T10 games often enough so I know for a fact T10 is more campy/passive. Of course there are also very nice games, just as some T4 games can be very campy as well. But GENERALLY speaking, higher tiers are more passive because more people are waiting for the enemy to make a mistake. Me not playing T10 is not a lack of skill, it's the lack of fun I have in that tier. I CAN get to T10, but I don't WANT to. Are you able to get that? Or are you really so thick headed that you cannot understand people have different experiences of fun than you? Edit: and as @Deckeru_Maiku said, having T10 ships is no indication of skill whatsoever. If he plays enough games, even a bot with 30% winrate would eventually gather enough xp to play T10

soontm you will be able to mount 2 flags on IJN ships You 'only' have to complete the miscellaneous section of the Yamamoto campaign

Wasn't that the one for King of the Seas, a clan battle event?
-
I agree. For once WG had some very sensible mission design. Three relatively easy missions for the main reward, and another two more demanding missions to give some die-hard people a little extra reward. You should see the last two missions as a nice bonus if you do manage to complete them, as you already have the main reward. And this is coming from one of most vocal WG criticasters.... But I believe one may only complain when things are bad if one is fair enough to also be up front about it when things are good. And in this case I think they did a good job with these missions set(s)

I'm going to Gamescom and last year I wasted a lot of (play)time filling in my email. I couldn't find the @ for the life of me. Sooo.... this year I decided I want to go prepared. So, could any of you Germans tell me how to type an @ on a typical German keyboard?

Free Bonus Code for Marblehead and 7 Days of Premium Time
Bellegar replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
Well to be completely fair, we don't NEED Marblehead as well I understand what you mean though. I still think a week of premium time is worth enough to keep the code though, especially in holiday season when people might have a week off. I think if I got the code twice, I would keep it as well, arguing to myself that I 'need' the 7 days of premium time. Very useful to stock up free xp a bit faster before Nelson gets released And yes, I'm cursing my luck and RNGsus as well. I'm even throwing in Murphy and Karma just for the hell of it -
I'm not sure if everybody is aware of this, but @Tuccy kinda confirmed British BBs at Gamescom Of course, this does not confirm the actual release to be during/at Gamescom, but it does confirm regular Joes can play them there and that they will most probably will be in their final versions at that time and will most probably be released very close to Gamescom.

Won't those be rebinded automatically to the same key position whatever the letter? And thanks gents! This will save me some time searching (or asking an embarrassing question )
