I applaud everybody who uses the search function instead of opening new threads, but is this really the case here? The necromancer didn't even ask a question but really only revived the thread

Is it possible for the Missouri to come back in the future?
Bellegar replied to Renegade334_S7's topic in General Discussion
Yes we are. The previous patch note said : Seeing as 0.7.0 is now in public test, it will be January update, which means 0.7.1 will arive end of February with 0.7.2 likely hitting halfway/end of March. So as of now, you have approximately 2 - 2,5 months to grind Missouri, then she will be gone. -
Work? Patience? From what foul dimension did you spew forth? The power of the Holy Ocean compells you demon! There shall be no patience, the hype is too intense

Is it possible for the Missouri to come back in the future?
Bellegar replied to Renegade334_S7's topic in General Discussion
I don't think Missouri will be back. WG has stated a number of times that, in hindsight, they think it was way too cheap. Giving her a higher price might be a nice solution, but people will complain about the inflation. Besides, knowing WG, they'll just throw such a sensible idea in the bin before even discussing it I'm sorry OP, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. I just don't see it happening -
Musashi will cost 92... nope! 750k freePex !
Bellegar replied to PseudoMi's topic in General Discussion
Less than what I expected. I expected her to cost over a million Free XP after all WG's statements that Missouri was way too cheap under the new economy (due to Free XP flags and camos mostly). Still, not worth it IMO. But that's why they're gonna remove Missouri, so bad Musashi is the only option in the long run for newer players. I guess because they never had the opportunity to buy Missouri they will be happy with Musashi? -
The armament mod 0, (or whatever it's called.... the Katori thingy) would do wonders already. This ship does not need a main battery buff, it needs secondary buff

No they are not the same. The Naval Tour requires you to ACT. Signing up for the lotery is not enough, you have to actually DO something in addition. That's probably the big difference here. Welllllll..... there's also the Soviet Navy flag vs Imperial German Navy flag issue..... (no please don't start that discussion here, I'm only trolling WG lawyers, I agree with Tyrendian) btw, sorry for doublepost

Yay The Netherlands is included for once Usually we're out for some reason (at least with similar Blizzard contests...... maybe Blizzard just hates us? ) For the excluded people: I'm sorry you're not in But as much as I like bashing WG, this is not the time unfortunately. It's more about bashing your own government for making those "online lottery" laws. I agree it's a shame not everybody is included, but I'm not sure if it's even possible to include every country (within EU). Looking at other lotteries, I guess not. As some people already stated, in some countries only registred companies can hold these lotteries, whatever the prize.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

I think they should be fine. I must be really careful with my wording here, but generally speaking, there's much less sting between European nations than there is over China. Also, with the upcoming flag customisation tool, it shouldn't be an issue at all, since everybody could just pick the flag they like best. -

That's not what I meant. What I meant was that I hope that ROC will stop its claims for China mainland while PRC will stop its claims for Taiwan, thus enabling the 'regional' government of Taiwan (the ROC government according to them) declare independance without the risk of armed conflict with PRC. That's what I meant, not reintegration with PRC/China mainland. I agree that would be a very very bad idea. -

Thanks And I certainly hope so. Especially for both Chinas, but also a bit for the rest of the world Try reading it all again, this isn't about any flag. This is about history, territorial claims and a bad statement form WG -

Well @Kartoffelmos beat me to it. But yes, in the original article WG named both Chinas China and then went on to name Taiwan an independant nation. (first 2 photos on this link https://m.weibo.cn/status/4174839554679231) While everybody is free to acknowledge either PRC or ROC, acknowledging both is against the OCP (gotta love all the abbreviations ), which isn't breaking a law by itself, but more of an international agreement. Going against it does not sit well with a lot of people. After the Chinese civil war, there were two parties claiming control over some location both called China, and which used to be the territory on which the Chinese Empire was located. To make sure everybody was relating to the proper 'things' with the proper terms, practically everybody agreed to call that territory China (including the island known as Taiwan, which formally is a district of geographical China). Both the PRC and the ROC also agreed to this. To further simplify things, everybody agreed to just talk to one Chinese republic. Whether that would be PRC or ROC was up for each individual nation to decide. Most of them went with the most powerful at the time: the PRC. You are right that there is no actual law against calling Taiwan (or ROC) an independant state. However, if you do that while based in a country that recognises PRC as independant state, you are undermining your own government and you are going against a LOT of international diplomatic agreements. That's no crime, but it definately is frowned upon. So the article by WG made two distinct mistakes. It recognised both PRC and ROC as independant nations at the same time, thus going against OCP. Second is that it clamed there is an independant state based in Taiwan, which, even according to ROC, is untrue. The nation in question would be ROC, but the island Taiwan is still a district of China (geographical). If one would recognise ROC as an independant state, then that state would embody the whole of China, including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau for example. The official capital of ROC is Nanjing, located on mainland China. Taipei, often regarded as capital Taiwan, is only a temporary capital of ROC as long as PRC 'occupies large territories of ROC'. The validity of this statement of course depends on which China you chose to recognise. Lastly, at one point in time both republics agreed to stop banging each others head in. They both wanted control over all China (they both believe they are the rightful government and the other are rebels), but at the same time they both knew that was not going to happen without armed conflict. ROC knew very well it would lose a war with PRC, and PRC knew very well every international body would judge harshly on picking up arms against ROC. So yes, they regard each other as 'occupiers of my territory', but at the same time give each other enough breating room to function as two seperate nations. Which does not mean they are two seperate nations. It also means that other nations are free to acknowledge either of them, but not both. It also means that switching sides will cause a diplomatic war with the former ally, which would be unwise especially if that means going to war with PRC. Even economic santions from PRC are bad since, as they say, everything nowadays is "made in China". Fun fact (and the final point I will make now ), companies cannot do business with both republics. KLM for example (I'm Dutch, don't blame me for bringing a Duch example into this), can do business with PRC under it's own brand. If you fly to Shanghai, the plane will say KLM on the tail. However, the previous paragraph also means they, as a consequense of flying to PRC, cannot fly to ROC. This is a problem if you want to make money, because people will still want to fly to Taipei. So they created another company, a sister company if you like, KLM Asia which can then operate to ROC (and every other nation not being PRC). And this is a problem for all companies wanting to make money in that region. They have been loostening up lately, but I know for a fact that in the past, you could not fly directly from PRC to ROC or vice versa. You would first go to Malaysia (or another nearby country, Japan was used a lot as well) and then fly on to the other republic with another airline. I must admit I don't know how they handle security on the 'new' mainland/Taiwan flights, since it would technically be a domestic flight, but domestic within two different nations (PRC and ROC). It's still very messy, but they're getting somewhere And yes, ROC's claim over 'all China' has been diminishing over time, just like PRC's claim to "use all means nessecary" if Taiwan (the regional government of Taiwan, not ROC this time, although they're the same to PRC ) declared independance. Edit: and of course I have been ninja'd some more while writing this huge wall of text -

Hold on I'm gonna assume you f*cked up your quote and you didn't mean to imply I have actually said that. @44smok look at the links he posted. Those are NOT independant nations. What you think is irrelevant, functioning like an independant state does not make it one. If you think otherwise, you're an uneducated ignoramus and I'm very glad you're not involved in worldwide politics or diplomatic relations. I'm starting to think even Trump would be more competent than you, since he was smart enough not to say anything about both Chinas (yet......) -

So Scotlandis an independant state? And Flanders too? Even something like Texas? The fact that something has institutions flags and military does not make it an independant state. We shouldn't pretend it's otherwise. -

This is untrue and statements like this is exactly what got WG into this mess. There is only one China. It's a geographical location that encompasses (amongst others) mainland China and the island known as Taiwan, which officially is a district of China (similar to Hong Kong and Macau). The governing body of China however, is up for debate. Two different 'entities' claim to be the rightful 'sovereign' of China: The People's Republic of China and The Republic of China. The "China" in both of these 'nations' is the exact same thing: the geographical location. In short, according to PROC, they govern both mainland China and Taiwan and according to ROC, they also govern both mainland China and Taiwan. Both agree on the fact that Taiwan is a district within China. They just disagree on which entity governs China. And most other nations chose the way of economics, and only recognise PROC as a nation. Good luck finding a nation that recognises ROC as an independant state. -

Thanks Tuccy, a fair explanation. And I realise the 'custom flags solution' is still a bit hot from the press, so you can't give much more information than you did now. I would also like to quote @AkosJaccik, for I fully agree with what he said and I think he might have a very good solution the the whole flag issue. Could you pass this suggestion on to the devs and let them at least discuss it? -

Lol naah I'm only a nobody from The Netherlands But these geopolitical 'weirdnesses' tend to interest me so I may know a bit more than a regular Western European Well that's true of course. But I cannot help but wonder, why only apologize on the Asian forum? As you can see by the letter the embassy in the UK got (or apparently got), there are annoyed people in Europe, and possibly NA, too. Why not offer an apology on the same medium that made the mistake? And we think you focus on flags because the vast majority of that statement is about flags, so our focus is not really surprising. Still untrue, but not surprising. And then again, why change the flags anyway? There never was a (major) problem with Lo Yang and Anshan. So why suddenly change it? And why change ALL flags? Indonesia and Korea are not the issue here. You're actively using the flags as a solution to a breach of international politics. The only way to not use the flags as a scapegoat is to delete that part of the 'apology' and make a proper one. Also, that new tool for customizing flags.... will it be applicable only to Pan Asia tech tree or also for other trees? For example, can I fanally put the proper flag on Imperial German ships? And Weimar Republic ships? Edit: second ninja of the evening..... I really should type faster Edit 2: Not attacking you personally here Tuccy. I realise you probably have nothing to do with this and are only here to clean up the mess. And I have to admit you're not doing such a bad job at all ;) -

No, nobody has a problem with any flag. WG is just trying to silence the diplomatic drama with this 'solution', which will not solve anything because WG have recognised Taiwan as a diplomatic entity (nation) different from China, thus abandoning the internationally recognised 'One China' Policy -

The flag is not the issue. The issue is that WG EU and WG NA set the terms "Republic of China" and "Taiwan" equal, which they are not. That was only a slight mistake. They made it all worse by stating Taiwan is a nation. WG have now unleashed a diplomatic war between all kinds of China. They really want to see the world burn, and this half baked attempt to silence it by removing the flags will not solve anything since the flag was never the issue. You should read the thread on Asian forums. Apparently, an official complaint was filed to the Chinese embassy (People's Republic) in the UK and to the British ministry of foreign affairs to put diplomatic pressure on WG to right their wrongs. The whole "China vs China" debate is a hornet's nest, this could really escalate badly if this is not handled well. The Asia forum thread: https://forum.worldofwarships.asia/topic/28881-regarding-our-stance-on-the-political-geography-of-asia/ And this is what it's all about: https://m.weibo.cn/status/4174839554679231 Edit: damn ninja'd by @Verdius Yeah, that's the message I was talking about. This is not about something trivial (by comparison) as the IJN flag. This is much much worse -
