I agree, the first impression is definately good. It's not as grindy as Kamikaze R or (especially) GNB. It's not competitive as Clash of the Elements. You can buy the stuff you want/customised rewards. And sensible missions/requirements. I've enjoyed all the other events as well, but this one really does look good. Is WG actually learning? Or, even more shocking, is WG actually listening to us?

"3 battles bottom tier = 4th guaranteed top tier" rule

I think this applied to Ships too. I believe they stated this back in the old days of CBT. -
Speculation: Operation gives clues about CV rework?
Bellegar replied to Xevious_Red's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, completely off topic, but I have to finally get this off my chest.... I have always thought your avatar was hypnotizing. But omfg your new (is it new? Anyway, I noticed it just now) signature gif is just awful. You sir, are an evil man I was always afraid to look at your avatar because it might hypnotise me, but I just spend waaaay too much time looking at your signature. I think I've seen the whole thing 2 or 3 times. Please change it. I beg you. My sanity is at stake here -
I'm seconding the wish to complete them in Clan Battles too. I don't understand why that's excluded. It's not some kind of easy mode where it's far too easy to farm the missions

You so silly You're talking to gamers here. We're not known to be a particularly healthy group of people But yeah, if it's weekend during the day (morning or afternoon) I need coffee (but that's unrelated to gaming.... I need coffee whatever I'm doing), if it's in the evening (like clan battles) I park a bottle of whisky and a glass near the pc. The empiness of the bottle afterwards is directly related to the winrate Depending on the quality of the teams, that bottle might be almost empty (don't tell my clan I always play Clan Battles drunk.... they might kick me )

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Bellegar replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
So? Back then Oil, Coal and Steel didn't exist. Now we have: - Credits - Doubloons - Ship XP - Free XP - Commander XP - Elite Commander XP - Oil - Steel - Coal - Molybdenium - Saltpeter - Brass Seems a bit much no? If they at least would transfer the Age of Empires 2 cheat codes here, at least we would have some extra humour. I still believe "rock on" for a stone code is just utterly brilliant -

Yeah we clearly need more recources in this game When did this game turn from naval combat into resource collection? I thought I was playing a WW2 naval combat game, not Age of Empires (I would love a good new AoE, but that's another story ). -
Hood VS Nelson VS Warspite, Captain trainer!
Bellegar replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
Amen to that. Enemy Shokaku in all chat after losing pretty much all his squadrons in a few seconds over my Hood: "oh" "so that's what Hood does" I laughed way too hard at that. Poor guy -
Why using oil as a gauge to determine how much coal/steel a player should get is quite a poor method & strategy.
Bellegar replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Hey, I never said it would be effective, I merely pointed out an opportunity ;) I've been lurking these forums for ages, I know there are people with loads of disposable income willing to spend on the game. I mean, there was a guy that spend a few hundred euros on the French containers just to get all of those missions. There are people that spend hundreds of euros on premium ships and/or premium time. There are people that spend hundereds of euros on the Christmas container sale. There might as well be people that are willing to spend hundreds of euros on coal, especially now that MrConway stated on the portal that this won't be possible in the (foreseeable) future. -

Alright, thanks for your answer. I am very sceptical about this. Not that I don't believe what you're saying, but more that I find it hard that this is still an issue after all these years. It's not that nobody ever pointed this out to you But, based on the improved forum presence, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. But for god's sake, actually start improving your internal communication then! Because this mistake or whatever you want to call it is really dumb. As for the change itself, I don't agree with WG's standpoint on this, but at least I can understand your reasoning of "it's a ship discount, not doubloons". -

I also agree that it's a bad idea to use a Clan only resource (oil) as a measurement of the amount of headstart people will be getting for a widely available currency. If you make something available to everybody, make everybody benefit, not just the people that are in clans. To all people not currently in clans, I feel sorry for you. My deepest sympathies in these dark times of shafting. A teeny tiny heads-up to people wanting to spend real money on coal.... You get oil for containers.... every container. In other words, if you buy a package of containers from the premium shop, you'll get oil for them if you do it quickly enough. After the update, it will be exchanged to coal. As such, you're basically buying coal with money, something that @MrConway stated in the comments below the news article, will not be possible in the future. -
Premium Shop has over a dozen additional ships just added back to buy!
Bellegar replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
hehe at least one of them was free, and another cost only Free XP. And I've owned Warspite since closed beta, so that was kinda free too. Yay I'm not doing too bad anymore. Pfew, that was close. Good job rectifying my own spending habits -

No, more like while telling him to get the out of my way so I could get into cover and live to fight another day instead of going poof -

While I do not agree with the decision to change the compensation policy, I have to say that the solution to this is very nice! Also a nice gesture to give us another small opportunity to benefit from the 'old' policy. Being my usual critical self though, I have one question.... If this was already implemented in May (although unplanned), why are you only telling us now? I mean, when did you find out it was implemented too early, and why didn't you announce the changes at that time? Don't get me wrong, I think your solution for this is very fair. But I didn't forget the past communication mishaps, and I'm just wondering why you didn't inform us (and changed the terms of service) immediately when you found out the change was implemented prematurely. Edit: and to end on a positive note... Yes, you are definately improving your communications. We get a lot more (helpful) forum presence from you guys than in the past. I hope you remember how critical I was about that, and realise how much that means coming from me ;) I always like to point out the unfair and even (in my opinion at least) stupid things, but I'm also a strong advocate for 'credit where credit is due'. And it's definately due in this case (the world wide implementation of the same Collector's Club is a good example), so here's the credit: -

Bellegar replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
That's because Takru has Hags Also, just had a game with @AnotherDuck (and @PointyHairedJedi, but I'm not sure he's active on the forums) on the enemy team. He did well, came top of the team with a High Caliber. I sucked and came second to last Friendly Richelieu sandwiched my poor Queen Elizabeth between himself and an island, broadside to an enemy Bismarck and North Carolina. I have never seen health vaporate so quickly Still, watching the game was intense, since it was pretty close until the end. Shame our low hp teammates wouldn't hold their fire to survive (we held 3 caps, points were equal at that time). Ah well, all in all an amusing game. And received just enough xp to unlock King George V Edit: btw, you should all tell @AnotherDuck how he's such a famous forumite.... he'll like that -

I just hope this means the server hamsters will be on strike less often. France is a nice country, but my god the strikes -
This made more sense than the opening post I think he means that he wants to see his progress in a battle? Like "you need x amount of damage to complete this mission for 500k damage" On second thought... after reading his other posts, it doesn't seem like he means that :/

Well, the forum doesn't have a Dutch section either.... does that mean I can write Dutch in this section? btw, listen to @Allied_Winter, that man always gives good advice.

That sounds a lot like equal treatment across all servers Well, if it truly happens as you say, that would be very good news indeed

Guys, possible noob question.... If it says mission expiration date 11-06, does that mean you can still complete it on the 11th? Or should you complete it before the 11th? I seem to remember the missions used to expire at 7.00h in the morning, but I'm not sure anymore. Usually I don't bother because I complete them early enough, but now with such a short time, it might be interesting to plan stuff around -
"As good as it gets": 250% (PERCENT) extra for top 3 in the team... Implementation fail
Bellegar replied to NicramDuel's topic in General Discussion
Yes, but not every single time. After enough 'mistakes' in news articles/mission descriptions/events, it's no longer a mistake, but just poor management/proofreading/incompetence/malpractice/stupidity. Damn, I had to think really hard about that one. No WG, that does not say anything about my memory. That says something about the amount of f*ckups you keep producing. Don't forget the Secret Santa Shafting of an entire server! (with the cencoring of the whole forum to go with it)
