Not true, they only banned the PROMOTION of mods with SWASTIKAS on their forums. IJN flags can still be promoted on the forums. You can still make a mod that gives swastikas in the game, you just can't promote it on the forums (or other WG owned stuff). However I fully agree that their double standards regarding symbols are just completely retarded. "let's ban some symbols that all nations officially agree are fine, but let's allow some symbols that are actually banned by law in some nations"

It get's even weirder once you realise that the Rising Sun flag is not banned in any country in the world (that's right, even both Chinas and Koreas do not ban the Rising Sun flag), but the Hammer and Sickle flags and symbols are actually banned by law in quite a few eastern European countries. But that's a discussion for another thread. I've stated before that I think the IGN flag has a place in this game. I personally would also be fine with Nazi flags, but I could understand WG being hesitant about those, even after this change of policy by the Germans (well done Germans for being sensible )

I believe there was a list somewhere in a dark closed off section of the forums with the different meanings of all the different 'soon's. Like Tuccy soon, Sub_Octavian soon, soontm, MrConway soon and so on... back in those days probably Ectar soon as well @Tuccy, @MrConway, what happened to that list? Is it still available somewhere?

I think it's better to leave it @robihr. That exact same thing has been explained to him around 20 times by 3 or 4 different people and he still refuses to get it. He even tries to generalise everybody disagreeing with him as ignorant, nonsense spewing old men afraid of change. You try to sweep all argements against you from the table with this nice paragraph, but it's just filled with hypocrisy. I say "I want the thing to shut down if I press close, not minimise to task tray", you say "they're unwilling to make a new click elsewhere". That's true, but you refuse to acknowledge that as an argument. Instead you dismiss it as nonsense. It's not nonsense, it's one of the reasons I don't want to use the WGC. Same thing with the intrusive ads. Same with the excessive use of resources. Same thing with everything else we've explained multiple times to you. I'm completely fine with you being fine with this WGC. By all means, use it. But you refuse to accept the fact that people disagree with you. You refuse to accept the reasons of people not needing this WGC. Instead you insult them as being ignorant and opposed to change. All while you yourself are the one who is so narrowminded that he cannot accept that some people have a different point of view. And this is the last I will say on this matter. You don't seem to understand what I'm telling you. Therefore I'll let @44smok talk for me. He says the same I already said, but maybe his use of different words or grammar makes you understand it this time. Correct, it makes it bloatware for me. Everybody has different desires and wishes. That's why it's stupid of WG to force this new launcher on us. They should leave the choice. At best. Haha true. But I had to be very clear and black and white with that guy. For a serious answer, I agree with @Tubit101. There are many ways to minimise the amount of useless stuff. One of them is banning bloatware disguised as launchers from your system. The issue here is not really that it uses more as it should. The main issue here (at least for me!) is that it uses more than the current, viable, alternative. This launcher is not an upgrade, it's a downgrade (for me, as I do not need/want it's other functions). I do not want all the new stuff it does, but it still uses resources for all that new stuff. Or it makes me take action to stop it from doing all that new stuff. Even if the new launcher could do everything the old one does, it uses more resources for it and it makes my life more complicated for it. That's what's wrong with this thing. If you don't need the new functions (which I don't), then this thing is nothing more than a downgrade. Even worse, it's a downgrade that WG is forcing me to use. And I don't like that. I don't like that at all. Edit: and before somebody comes crying "give it a try before complaining", I did. I tried it because I wanted to give World of Warplanes 2.0 a go. I actually liked what they did to that game. But not enough to make me cope with that monstrocity they call a game center.

The old launcher only does this for a few seconds until you launch the game. After that, it's gone. It will not do anything. It will not use any resources. It's dead. It ceased to exist. It is an ex-executable.

This would actually be a very good idea. I've completed the thing, but an anniversary should be at it's core a celebration. And so it makes sense to give people the chance to complete some old collections (yes, I'm even stretching it beyond just last year's anniversary collection).

*sigh* come on, it's really simple. Definition of bloatware: "software whose usefulness is reduced because of the excessive disk space and memory it requires". EXCESSIVE DISK SPACE AND MEMORY EXCESSIVE Definition of excessive: "more than is necessary, normal, or desirable; immoderate". If something uses 1 kb more that it should/than what's necessary, that makes it excessive use of RAM. Scroll back up, and that excessive use of RAM makes that 'something' bloatware. And it DOES use more than the previous version, because this new version keeps running after launching the game and because it refuses to exit when I press close. I have to manually move my mouse to the task tray (which I hate and never use), find the program, right click on it and click again to close it. MANUALLY. While we invented computers and software to do stuff for us If I tell a program to close, I want that crap to close. For your malware part, it's too hot to argue. I don't want to reiterate what some others have already said (I wouldn't be able to say it better anyway). I disagreed with practically everything you said (though I like the way you argue, you're a good discussion partner!), but I have to give credit where it's due. No, a process that uses more RAM than it should is bloatware. Whether that be 1 kb or 1 gb does not matter. Too much is too much. No, software that does stuff for no apparent reason or valid explanation is malware. You quoted these definitions yourself

Because you HAVE to use it. Randoms not important? Ah I see. So you don't care about all your special economic signal flags and camos you put on your ship to ease the XP grind and to collect the maximum amount of Free XP or commander XP. Well some people do. You can't grind ships in Clan Battles and Ranked (well you can grind 1 tier in ranked), so you have to grind them somewhere. As long as detonations are everywhere, the flags are important everywhere.

And people like that are exactly the reason why I hide my stats. Not because I'm bad. Not because I'm ashamed. Not because I believe it's none of your business. But because of people that cry "waah stats are the most important thing in the world waah you have only 53% winrate waah I will throw this game because the team is too bad waah waah" I'm not saying stats are completely irrelevant. They show your achievements and can offer insights in how to improve. But please, there are more important things in this game, let alone in the world, than some winrate or average damage stat

Oooooh this takes me back... I bought it when it first came out, and I've been using it during every Tirpitz sale since then. You can even help the enemy in thinking you're an idiot by saying in all chat "wait, this BB has torpedoes? Oo" or "what does this 2 key do?" or something similar. Come on @Aotearas, give the guy a break. Yes it's a hoax. Yes it's old. Yes, it has been posted on the EU forums before (I've seen it and I don't follow US forums or Shipcomrade). But he clearly didn't know that, and he tried the search function, but couldn't find it (whether that's his mistake or the search function's, I'm not judging. Can't be bothered to test the search myself really). I agree he shouldn't have posted it, but come on, the guy made a mistake and said he just wanted to share something he thought was interesting. Just smile at his ignorance for noticing it only 2 months late and move along. At the very least you have to admit it's worthy of praise he used the search function. That is just too rare around here.

HEY!! I always play this game with alcohol. I need it to cope with random internet people, especially since I mostly play in the weekends. But now it has become a habit, and I'm also playing Clan Battles with a bottle of whisky at hand (no, I'm NOT an addict!)

I have only ever seen 1 Graf Zeppelin. It gave my Montana my only Clear Sky ever (and right before they split that achievement as well, so the timing was perfect ) Even though I'm a big hater of the "it's rare so it's ok" argument, I think there's no use in bothering in this case. CVs are getting their rework, everything about them will change. We just have to wait and see what happens to them later. Until then, just shrug it off and move on to the next game.
