  1. Definately first world problems, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who's bothered by this. My ocd really does not like those patches

    Anniversary Event

Campaign? There's a campaign that gives anniversary containers? What did I miss?

    So, got to Rank 15...

Well then, again, that's not what you said. Instead of saying "drop back a few tiers to gain more experience" you said "as long as you don't have a T10 you're bad and don't belong in competitive play". While you made it clear by now that's not what you meant, it is what you said, and what started this whole argument. (and to your credit, yes, you did state that you didn't want to insult or trashtalk him, I noticed that) So I guess next time try to say what you actually mean, would have saved us this argument BTW, I do agree with your sentiment (now that I understand it). Whenever people ask for advice why they're failing/sucking/being bad in high tiers, my usual reply is to tell them to drop back to the mid tiers (4/5/6) to gather some more experience. But I'm also one of the strong believers of 'free will'. If somebody wants to play Hermelin to gather enough Free XP to buy a Conqueror and play ranked with it, in my opinion that's fine. It's still a very bad idea of course, and I would advise against it, but if somebody really wants to, that has to be fine. You simply cannot blame a player for using the tools provided to him. Instead, we must blame WG for providing the tools. Or in this example, for providing the possibility to gather Free XP on Hermelin to guy a Conqueror and play ranked with it. We just can't blame people for using what they're given. You just can't. It's simply human nature to use tools (in the broadest sense of the word) to their best advantage, where the best advantage depends on what you want to achieve, which again depends on the targets of the player. For some that might be highest possible winrate, for some that might be rushing to T10 as fast as possible, for some that might just be relaxing and having fun. I also made some strong statements regarding player learning and experience when they released those French BB missions. I have a strong opinion on how people should learn this game, but at the same time you cannot blame people for using what's made available to them.

    So, got to Rank 15...

Ooohhhh so you were actually talking about the stats of the OP?? Well that's not what you said. While I agree you did not say only good players have T10 (that was a small case of "putting words in your mouth" from my part), you did say that "as long as you don't have at least 1 T10 ship, you should not play any form of competitive". So you did say that people without T10 ships cannot be good players. If you were just about the OP specifically, you could have said "listen OP, I don't want to insult you, but I recommend going back a few tiers to learn the game better". That sounds way nicer and is more constructive than saying "anyone without T10 ships should not play competitive because they're bad players". One of them is true, the other is a lie. I'll let you make a guess which one is which.... And you don't need T10 ships to know how boring T10 gameplay is (to some people), T8 gets uptiered enough to give you a good idea.

    So, got to Rank 15...

Your point? Nobody here is complaining about the rewards. People are complaining that ranked has completely ended for them after a few games.
  6. Bellegar

    So, got to Rank 15...

Yeah, because only good players have T10 ships. And no player can possibly be good at the game if he decided to not grind to T10 because he dislikes the high tier gameplay

    Future of the pirate flag

Hmm strange, that's something I would usually have noticed.... Oh well, I guess I finally have a proper excuse to grind my way up to rank 1 this season. Anyway, thanks for the info guys, I really had no recollection of this

    Future of the pirate flag

I missed that somehow, which is weird, as I try to collect them all (exept the overprice bundles flags). What did we have to do for it? I seem to remember it was a lot more accessible on NA?
  9. Because they didn't bother with the different Pan Asia voices as well. (at least to my knowledge, please correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't played them).

Some interesting info around the world

I don't have any pictures (sorry), but Conway confirmed on Wednesday that Blyskawica will transfer to the Pan European tree and that, as such, the commander will be usable on the other ships in that 'nation'. And I can't remember if it already made it on here (it probably did), but he also mentioned that all Clan base buildings will be destroyed when the new base gets released. The oil will be given back to the clan, so you can decide which buildings to erect first. He also said there will be buildings that increase Free XP, coal and steel gain (maybe even more, but he went too fast with the German for me there ) The anniversary collection is also not the only thing that's happening. There will be more (keep an eye on the portal), and there will also be a susprise for long time players (that's the phrase he used, not players with many battles or anything, but long time players. Take from it what you want)
  12. Praise the lord Hallelujah!! I might have to start setting some money aside for real (looking at you T-61) Dutch ships. And Austria-Hungary is cool too. It's just a bit sad that this means we won't be having dedicated captains and voices for those nations (unless WG changes the way they handle these of course). And I'm also of the opinion that it's weird that you have to own a ship before you can change it's flag. It's probably a UI issue (they don't want a huge list with every single ship somewhere), but this way it's just weird. Maybe add the a toggle option to make the historical flag default? You could still select the 'tech tree flag' manually, but it would be a great help for us who don't own all the ships (but do see them ingame).

Thanks to WG for GO NAVY! event!

I liked the event. Free stuff is always welcome and I got a load of coal. Only thing that I didn't really like was the competitive part. It's not that I dislike it, but I don't think it adds anything. In that regard, I liked the concept of Kamikaze R and GNB better, where the whole community could work together for a single goal. The whole point and token thingy could remain exactly the same as it was now, you just need to add a reward at the end that's worth grinding for (yes, that could even be 12 camos, as long as you don't sell it as a big secret )

Nueve de Julio in operation Hermes

No it isn't. You are confusing real life with the game. There are two distinct ships in the game: - There is Boise, a US cruiser - There is Nueve de Julio, a Pan American cruiser Operation Hermes is limited to French, Soviet, US and British ships. As such, Boise can be used (US ship) and Nueve cannot be used (not a US ship). Or are all the Pan Asia clone ships suddenly also US ships?
  15. I'm not sure how far you want to go back in history, but there have been quite some changes Occupied by the French, occupied by the Spanish, occupied by the Habsburgers, marrying into the British royal family, 7 provinces, 12 provinces, closing off seas to make lakes, erecting provinces out of these newly created lakes, letting the Belgians go to do their own stuff, occupied by the Germans... I know this was completely not your point But I chuckled a bit at those two sentences, and decided "why the hell not, I might as well post something" Also, being Dutch, thank you for not calling my country "Holland"

    New Bonus Code

Did it ever occur to you that they read this topic just now? Did it ever occur to you that not everybody lingers on the forums every single day? Did it ever occur to you that it's acutally better for forum clutter to revive old threads than create new ones? Did it ever occur to you that this thread might still be valid? No? Then think for once before you spew your sh*t against people who thank somebody for providing them with a bonus code. I'm not even going to ask you to come down from your high horse. Just stay on the horse and use it to ride off, that would actually be way better for the atmosphere on these forums. @Teufelswerk_72, please don't let this one guy scare you off the forums after your first post. There are also actually nice people here
  17. I've switched to Resources (occasionally still pick signals out of habit.... yes muscle memory is a thing for me ) The other stuff in the resources container is actually useful (no more ramming flags ), and the coal is stockpiling for Salem.
  18. What?! "SkybuckFlying" and "played very well" in the same sentence? Oh dear, and I thought I had seen it all
  19. What's even worse was that said Moskva said over discord "I can't show broadside to that Des Moines, he will rape me". Somebody else said he would be fine, so he pushed anyway and well... you noticed how it ended But I liked that little clusterf*ck over there. So many ships so close to eachother was fun
  20. Met @Allied_Winter and his clan in a clan battle earlier tonight. We won (yay!), but you guys gave me a good run for my money (if you don't remember the game, it was the game on Tears of the Cruiser where you in a Des Moines and a Moskva rushed the south cap against me in my Monty)
  21. Did you spend if after the event started? Or on the night before? Because that might explain it. Otherwise, I would guess it's ticket time for you
  22. Oh yes I do (in fact, by now it might be so long ago that you may have no idea what I'm talking about...) But I also have enough honour to admit that things have definately improved in that regard I never thought I would ever say this to you, but I fully agree with you on this one! I mean, guys wtf. You are about to spend ~80 euros worth of doubloons. How the is that not a reason to make perfectly sure that what you're about to do is within the time frame of the event? I know WG (EU) has a habit of announcing events after they've started, but come on, that doesn't mean you can just assume that this will always be the case. You were able to click the button in advance, that's very handy as you won't have to remember to click it when the event starts. You can just go ingame and spend your doubloons. You guys can consider yourselves very lucky that WG was generous enough to still grant you the ship. I'm happy for you, but you didn't really deserve it. Next time you're about to spend 25k doubloons, make sure you read the event announcement properly ffs Of course I understand mistakes happen. I've often not read event announcements properly myself as well. But come on, you're spending €80 on this! How can you not check?! Edit: oh and btw, I do agree that WG should be more transparent in their 'credition times'. Yes it's too early for tickets as long as it's not Saturday yet, but I do think "Friday" is not enough of an estimation. And yes, I also agree that WG doesn't learn this, because we had the exact same discussion with GNB (amongst others).
  23. I agree, and that's why I think we should not request any nazi symbols in the game. Call me devil's advocate or a diplomat, but I believe it's about choosing your battles. Let WG have their political correctness with nazi symbolism and be satisfied with IGN symbolism. No, that isn't perfect, but at least it's better than what we have now. Negotiations are a matter of compromising, of giving and taking. And I really see this topic as negotiations between us, history buffs, and WG and their symbolism policies. However ok some of us might be with them (I'm perfectly fine with swastikas in game myself), nazi stuff is just that tiny bit more sensitive, at least in Europe. Obviously the average Asian will care much more about Japanese stuff, that's just logical. But I do believe there is still no reason to exclude the IGN flag from the game. There are no objections to that flag or the symbols on it (as is the case with the IJN flag, but as this topic is called "IGN flag", I think we should leave that aside. Again, a matter of choosing battles and progressing slowly with one issue at a time. I really am becoming a diplomat, aren't I... not bad huh, for a senseless engineer ). And who knows what may happen with pissing off countries. WG also thought Pan Asia DDs would be fine, but their "Taiwan is a nation" and "two Chinas" policies were very close to biting them in the @ss at that time. There were certainly enough people pissed off to get embassies involved, and WG had to release some very political statements just to save their skin.
  24. By promotion I mean exactly what I said, and what you describe. You are not allowed to promote mods including swastikas on the forums. That's why they removed them. You are allowed to use mods including swastikas in the game. And please, the fact that I know the rules does not mean I agree with them!
