I've played the tier 5, 6 and 8 and I really liked them. In my opinion, they are exactly what every other BB line should have been: good armour when angled, devastaging accuracy when close range, and insane turret angles (at least the T5 and 6). I was also pleasantly surprised by the quick rudder shift time. Yeah, turret traverse is a pain (exept the T9 and 10, which is just insane, it rotates at twice the speed as the puny guns on Gemlin ), but the Soviet special commander with Expert Marksman does help a lot. But I might be biased by playing the unbuffed version of Warspite a lot. But with that rudder shift you don't turn the turrets, you turn the sip

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Bellegar replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
It's Serb. It's always Serb. The Serb is eternal, just like fire and damnation. In fact, being eternal is not the only thing those things have in common...... -
I do think that it's annoying that the "combat missions" tab does not go to combat missions, but instead forces me to first see the events page and then click on combat missions. I'm clicking on combat missions because I want to see the combat missions, not the stupid event page I really liked the old option of clicking directly on the tab (combat missions, events or personal assignments) that I wanted to see. Or I have gone completely blind and/or mad and am missing some obvious option to have it as it once was

Could you at least also post a link to the "soon dictionary" that's buried somewhere on the oldest parts of the forums?
-
That's not the only thing that explains. Now that I know you're Irish, a lot of pieces suddenly fall into place (all based on shameless stereotypes of course )

Wait, you studied Dutch ships? You really keep amazing me with your study choices And for the rest of your post.... interesting read!

[new AA mechanics] about the non-overlapping auras
Bellegar replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Yeah I know. But there's a difference between making mistakes (Jingles) and beind an idiot (flying planes through AA bursts and being surprised the planes die). I fully agree btw that community contributors primarily provide entertainment. But come on, there has to be some understanding of basic game mechanics. -
[new AA mechanics] about the non-overlapping auras
Bellegar replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
How? Why? Wat? That guy goes on and on to say AA is OP and planes need a buff. Yeah, if you see AA 'clouds' as collectibles then yes, your planes will die. Oh my [edited]god. The black AA 'clouds' are not pokemon, you're not meant to catch them all. He ignores a fighter blob and flies straight through CV AA clouds while moaning that his planes die too quick. YOU DON'T SAY And that is a community contributor, isn't he supposed to know the game? Seeing he's making money with it and all that? Oh dear, my faith in the community has taken a really big hit here. -
Don't worry, this thread is so epic it cannot be resurrected enough

Ah so they did implement that across all game modes. I think that's a good change. Turns out you were right @DFens_666 ;)

In randoms? Idunno. I've been away from the game for a few months and haven't been hit by friendlies since coming back. I do remember them removing it from Operations/Scenarios, but again I don't know about randoms. Could very well be the case (would be a good decision imo )
-
I'm not going that far, but I won't evade friendly torps if it puts me on a course I don't want to be on. And I simply refuse to use damage control on friendly flooding. My game's generally ruined anyway, I'll just let the flooding tick and get the idiot more friendly damage.
-
"Did I hear something?" - killing a friendly ship while casually ramming it Yes, I did that. Even worse, it was in Clan Battles
-
It is ALWAYS the fault of the torping ship if a friendly eats a torp. Yes, even if the torping ship is Flambass. And no, vigilance should not warn me for the idiocy of my teammates. Either make that a general perk for everybody, or, even better, give a warning to the teammate for the idiocy he is about to commit.

Remember that decreasing a ship's HP to 0 does not nessecarily mean the ship is sunk. Depleting a ship's HP does simply mean the ship is considered unable to continue combat. HP is just an arbitrary value representing a ships resistance to damage taken. Get it to 0 and the ship has suffered so much damage it is rendered unable to fight in any way. And that does kinda translate well to ramming. I mean, look at those pictures posted above. I think we can assume that those ships are considered unable to continue combat. Yes, the ship might not have sunk, but it is still a sitting duck and a total loss. And that's exactly what's represented ingame by having 0 HP on your ship. But because that looks silly, WG made a nice explosion and sinking animation when that happens.

I don't know what to think of this.... It's clearly true, but I don't know whether to laugh, cry, be angry, get agitated or get depressed. So many conflicting emotions. I must remember this when people start complaining again that I'm an emotionless robot Oh and I totally want that character on my ships btw Make it happen @MrConway @Crysantos

are new mex and colo the wrong way round in the tech tree?
Bellegar replied to SkollUlfr's topic in General Discussion
You spelled Trolorado incorrectly. And to actually contribute something: yes, it's all about the calibre of the guns. I played mine a long time ago, when it was still the Open Beta turd, but the calibre of the guns is definately an improvement. And nowadays T7 matchmaking is a lot more gentle than T6 -
How long did these codes work? 10 minutes?
-
Yeah I also used full secondary build in the early days on Warpspite. But maybe Jingles did some timetravel and took manual secondaries with him from the future.... but just forgot to click on the ship to start firing I dunno, I don't have any other sensible explanation
-
Aaah yes, the days that nobody really knew what the was going on. The days that the US BB line didn't exist and we all thought Warspite had stupidly short range Good times, those good old days Edit: Omg look at this Jingles video from when Warspite was released! Just look at the state of the game at that time Nostalgia everywhere

No no no, you've got it all wrong. Clearly the OP is the only sane person here, all the rest of the world are idiots.

My reports are mostly limited to afk people (not 1 minute, but usually still afk after I die since I notice only then. In general I give them 5 minutes to load into game) and people being holes in chat. I only really report people for bad play if they throw away the game while the entire team is screaming in chat what they have to do to win. On the other hand, I will always compliment forumites (if I notice them ), I always compliment DDs laying smoke for others, and I often compliment people being nice in chat or offering advice/help/whatever (we sometimes talk about balance, gameplay, who knows. A few days ago I made a Bismarck remark in my Hood, and ended up having a nice conversation with 2 enemies and 1 teammate (the Bismarck guy). I tend to compliment those people for good manners). And if I'm playing my secondary specced German BBs and just had a really cool brawl with an enemy, I often compliment them as well. Edit: I forgot to mention the people announcing sonar and radar usage in chat. I compliment them as well (and I also do it myself)

Well, no to be honest. They acted quick to tell us they were right and we just sucked in the ship (at gamescom). When the shitstorm grew even bigger because of that, they were very quick to react and pull the ship from sales. But the actual rework (the proper fix) took ages. So yeah, they reacted fast in admitting that they screwed up (and you're right, they do deserve some credit there), but the actual remedy is what took them so long. And that's mainly what I meant. And now letting the cynic in me speak: I wouldn't bet on them not letting the playerbase suffer for months only to collect data. In the past I would, but they have completely lost my trust in that regard. For me it's best case scenario that they act fast and remove or revert it, but I don't think that will happen. I think it will be too much of admitting their failure to them to do that. But trust me, I never hoped to be so wrong! Probably the 12k games Hermelin player that finally moved to T2 after they took away AP shells from T1 ships
