Can Jean Bart 100mm Guns go over 19mm Pen?
Bellegar replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
Just point your sexy a$$ to the enemy and blap away Is IFHE worth it in the Frenchies? I'm using the same captain for Jean Bart, Bourgogne and the silver T9 and T10 when I finish the Richelieu grind. -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Bellegar replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
This is so on point you should get your PHD if you made this into a thesis I don't get this company. It's just like @Exocet6951 said, they say one thing, they do the complete opposite. "we want players to play more low tiers." while at the same time "we completely ignore low tiers and only release T9 and T10 premiums" Well I have to slap someone I want my Friesland! Of course we'll get Siegfried, they've always released German stuff at Gamescom, but idunno, no reason to not also release Friesland. Especially since they cost different resources and were announced at the same time. -

I'm at Gamescom on Thursday. I promise I'll slap @MrConway if Friesland's not released at Gamescom -
You failed. I stopped reading as soon as I spotted those moronic statements.

This is nonsense, we don't hate you. We hate your ships.

Not just this forum, the entire internet. And I've seen some stupid things on the internet
-
Yes, but there is the thing when you are your own friend through the recruitment thingy. I'm not sure how they would handle this, so it's safest to just tag @Crysantos and @MrConway here and get an official answer. Granted, they're both busy preparing for Gamescom, so I wouldn't expect a quick answer. Maybe summoning @Tuccy will help, but I'm not sure if he's still doing Warships stuff or if he transferred to Tanks

Camo on the california looks wrong, pls fix
Bellegar replied to The_Shungite_Wizard's topic in General Discussion
Looks like a Trolorado with New Mexico guns. Given I still have nightmares from the initial Trolorado grind, nope not buying this turd -
My god you're quick @Egoleter

Aaaah so that is your problem Seriously though, looks like we had all this discussion to agree with each other after all, because I kinda agree with everything you've said in this post Looks like the only difference remain then is that you rage preemptively, where I tend to wait a bit until I actually know they screw(ed) up subs (granted, it may then very well be too late already). In case you didn't notice btw, I actually edited my previous post to answer your two questions after all ;)
-
You know, this is where we agree. Where we disagree is that you (among others) rage against the inclusion of subs, whereas I rage (or rather, will rage when more gameplay info comes out) against WG's lack of balance. I did read your other post btw, the long one. It's a good one, but I don't think there's anything I can reply to that I haven't said already. But thought I'd say it here so you don't think my lack of response is a lack of interest Edit: Sorry, I can actually respond to the questions you asked me directly Point a is the 'idunno' answer I gave before. Depends on the features WG gives them I guess. But I can see subs taking the role of stealth torp ships away (to certain extend) from DDs, which will get sub hunter features in return for example. Point b: well do we really need anything? Does the game need Italian ships? Does the game need a Pan-Europe navy? Not really. Players may need Italian ships (don't get me wrong here, I'm very happy they're finally coming. Was about damn time), but the game doesn't. In fact, you could argue that the game was the most balanced in closed beta when there were only two nations, with a grand total of only two lines per class. We also don't need subs. Or carriers. But that doesn't mean that they're unwanted. The Italian navy isn't unwanted. It's all about the implementation. And that is where I will rage. As soon as WG releases any information regarding gameplay or balance that indicates it will be a clusterfvck (because we must be honest, we don't know yet. We just assume so based on track record), then I will rage against the dying of the light. I will rage with all the might I have in me. And I will tell you this: I will not pull up with another live server test like the CV rework was. If they do that crap again, I'm out. Unbalanced subs in random battles on the live server will be the last straw that will make me quit this game I've enjoyed so much since closed beta.
-
I know. But I've said it before, as long as they're given interesting gameplay and proper balance, they will be fine. Same goes for CVs. Now what that interesting gameplay will be, I don't know. Well to be honest, I'm too lazy to do WG's work and design a sub concept that works well All I'm saying is that CVs and subs CAN be made a good addition to the game through of proper balance and gameplay. Just probably not by WG I think it's just too early to scream the world is going to end with subs in WOWS. That's all
-
To be honest, I don't know, neither do I care. That depends on the gameplay and role WG gives them. I thought they worked well in the halloween event, but that was because that event was tailored to them. The "what is the actual difference of DDs and submarines" is part of "WG's balancing" for me. Some objectives might shift from DDs to subs, as DDs will get the added objective of killing subs.

Gamescon Mission Stage 3 broken - Or just me being dumb (it is likely!)
Bellegar replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Lol there's a reason the "Interesting info" thread used to be "from RU" -
Alright, sorry I thought you meant you were speaking for me, since Episparh quoted me specifically in the comment you answered In that case, I think I might actually agree with you Even though I still believe every new class is interesting content in essence. I'm just sceptical for the way WG will balance and implement said new classes. That said, I do think subs are not needed per se. Guess I'm kind of indifferent to their addition. But I'm not indifferent to the fvckfest WG will create when they do implement unbalanced subs in random games on live server (something we all know will happen eventually)
-
Because it's more content, offering a differing gameplay experience from the other classes. The same reasons why CVs are a great addition to the game. HOWEVER, you should read everything I say, and not just that one sentence. All this is true on one condiction: that WG actually manages to balance them properly. And that one condition is why CVs in their current state are NOT a great addition to the game. So yes, provided that WG balances subs well and they're fun to play, yes, they're a great addition to the game. Any more stupid questions? You should really read my posts before pretending you're in any way able to answer for me.
-
I realise your post may be mostly tongue-in-cheek, but you're missing one other important option... Anti-WG: Subs are fine and balancable in essence, but given the track record we can only assume WG screws it all up I for one don't mind subs, I think they can be a great addition to the game. However there is one prerequisite: they (and all the other ships) must be balanced properly. And if there is one thing WG has shown us in the past, it is that they do not know how to balance properly.

The problem is, they are doing the exact opposite of what they're saying. As you said, they're obviously scared of running out of content (hence pooping out content faster than rabbits reproduce). But at the same time, they keep running events that give out T8 ships, thus making people NOT play their game. They keep adding content at faster and faster rates to prevent people from not playing the game anymore, and then they add events where you get high tier ships without playing the game. If we had to grind our T8, we would play the game. Now we don't. Now we play the T8, grind to T10 and get bored again. That process of grinding 3 tiers takes much shorter than grinding the entire line. NTC is a good example of this. They don't want to encourage midtier play (there are easier solutions). They just want to grab as much money as they can from the bored second-time-grind people that want the shiny Ohio. If you think about it.... right now we have events permanently. As soon as one ends, the next is announced. Events used to be special. There was a whole year of nothing special between Kamikaze R and Grand Naval Battles. People would return to the game for the event. People would go out of their way to complete the event. Not now. Now people think "meh, I've been burned out, I'll just skip this event".

I've been saying this for years now. Forumites are the people that care the most about a game. That's a simple fact since they chose to spend more of their time discussing the game. The amount of synicism, distrust and (previously) complete anger and the feeling of discrimination felt among the most loyal part of the playerbase must mean something is horribly horribly wrong. You should see the things I've written here during the dark days of server inequality. But that was all out of passion for this game. I want it to do good. That's why it's so frustrating to see a developer throw it all away.

No he won the Ring contest. It was a contest among CCs where they were given a special mission and told to complete it, put a funny commentary over it and put it on youtube. They (CCs) would then vote on the best CC video. Winner would be included in the game as a captain, and Jingles won the event with quite the lead. Also, those earlier statements were 2 million subscribers ;)

While I don't mind subs in principle, we all know WG is going to fvck it all up. They've barely managed to balance CV rework, and they're already taking on the next mission impossible. How on earth do they think they're going to balance a completely new class? They will have to rebalance each and every single ship already in the game to help it cope with subs (depthcharges or whatever), while at the same time making subs viable either through lightning fast speed, DD in smoke detection range or Kitakami-esque torp strength

Don't forget Albany, which came even befor Emden. That one was the only properly free ship, as you only had to enter the bonus code ALBANY. Don't know about Warspite and Gallant. Marblehead, Smith and Tachibana were 'buyable' rewards for the Grand Naval Battles event tokens. I don't remember exactly, but I also believe Vampire was some kind of mission. And Texas has been given out on numerous occasions.

But don't you know? As soon as you hit rank 10 you stop playing. Only way to preserve your sanity.

I like the concept of Epicenter, but I think the points add up too quickly. There's no time at all to have a proper comeback if you lose the first skirmish. It also is just a campfest with bowtanking ships sitting besides islands while DDs fight for the inner ring. I prefer standard battle over epicenter. In standard battle you have the dynamics of flanks, where epicenter forces a complete center campfest onto you.
