    There is a limit on how accurate your drops can be. The issue isn't how accurate the drop can be but making the enemy ship deal with multiple points of attack and a DD has it very easy on dodging single point of attack runs.

    Given how torpedo drops work I can assure you that if sneaky "speshul" DD goes around to chase after CV it will have NO PROBLEM at all to kill you unless someone helps you because hammer and anvil torpedo run tactics are gone and all CV attacks are easy as [edited]to dodge with a DD

    God damm it, they really butchered any kind of skill gameplay in fighters and they are really wanting to make it clear that they consciously and meticulously destroyed that part of CV gameplay. I'm feeling utterly disgusted

    So basically it will be literally impossible to play carriers solo given how drops, SPECIALLY torpedo bomber drops because having a team mate to division with will be indispensable if you ever want to do hammer and anvil tactics. Basically, prepare for full, 3 CVs, unicum divisions dominating the game.

    LMAO, APM Starcraft skillz, holly hell @Sub_Octavian what are you smoking? Your own engine can't handle more than 1-2 clicks per sec because higher APM is bugged

  15. My memory might fail me but there was DFAA since Alpha. The problem was mainly that AA was way weaker on those days so the only way to reliably wipe out an enemy CV strike was with overlapping AA bubbles instead of nowadays when a single AA specced BB can stop it. Then, when OBT finally kicked off, the AA values were buffed, then buffed again and finally the focus of high damage AA went from mid range AA to long range AA

  17. This kind of posts make me crack my resolve. I know it will be awful, I know it will be a horrible piece of oversimplification and potato catering since a long time ago but it still hurts
  18. Even with deck parking only the very last RN CV designs had a somewhat comparable air group to USN ones. And even so they didn't reach those numbers. From a historical point of view the RN carriers should be tough as nails and have way more survivability than any competition but basing their national flavor on that would be as memetic as current Graf Spee with hydro. Overall I have no idea what kind of national flavour they are going to apply to the british CVs other that they may actually be broken given our experience with the BB line. Also, WG did these couple of vids about british carrier planes so there is it too.
  19. If we didn't have this CV rework on the horizon I'd be hyped as [edited]for the reveal of those icons but as things stand now I cannot get hyped about some ships I may not like to play at leas, as much as I enjoy playing carriers with the current system. Just, show the gameplay already WG ffs

    I very much doubt that given that WG killed the spanish forum they have any intentions of doing anything beyond some premiums. Even latinamerican countries got ships before the spanish lmao.

I dunno what is going to trigger the funnier reaction from a part of the playerbase: - WG putting that ugly flag with Europe in white at the flag for the pan European tree - WG using the historical naval ensign of the Austrian empire - WG using the Austro-Hungarian flag Either way, rage will ensue. Although, it will be definetly funnier the reaction of a certain supertester if the spanish ships get inside this pan-european tree
  23. During a Q&A the devs straight recognized that Shimakaze is not only the most played tier X destroer in the game, it's also the one that attracts EDIT players the most. They are so aware of it that they refuse to remove the 20km torpedo option because they know with certainty, both from surveys and in game data, that those are the choice of the mentally challenged payerbase that compose the majority of Shimakaze players. I'm guessing that they want to make these players to move out of the Shima but in true WG fashion they are afraid of angering the potato field and they take roundabout ways to make people consider grinding other lines (and make them spend money on free exp, premium time and such). These roundabout ways come from making other lines more appealing but, in the meantime, the capable Shima players are victims of this surrealist behaviour from the devs.

    Anyone feel the Zao is in need of a buff

    Well, being a long time player of this game I was rather baffled at WG's decision to make Zao unable to torp from stealth when the torp travelling distances were nerfed across all japanese cruisers. Old Myoko at tier VIII could stealth torp, new Mogami at tier VIII can stealth torp, Ibuki can stealth torp... yet Zao broke that progression and was given rather useless torps despite being the fastest in the game. Yeah, it can be argued that Zao's torpedo buff was unneccesary but I find it the logical thing that the ship should have had since that time when torpedo range was nerfed. Then again, when Zao was introduced, the overmatch mechanics hadn't been added so a Zao could bowtank BB AP, Invisifire was a thing and the smoke changes weren't in place. So yeah, it can be argued too that the tactical possibilities and strenghts of Zao had been reduced since its introduction back in the Alpha and those 12 km torps gave the ship some of its lost strenght after so many global changes on game mechanics. Those torps also give an incentive for Zao players to make the most of its sinergy with the ship's strenght and get closer to the enemy lines.
  25. Remember when we laughed at the thought of RN BBs having only HE when they released the RN CL line and it had only AP? Be careful of what you laugh about now, it may become reality in the future.
