  1. How did they organize this tournament?

First daily win differences between servers

They wouldn't meet such reactions if they were actually honest with and caring about this comunity.
  3. I dunno man. I still find the Ibuki an upgrade to the Myoko and the Mogami. It's a cruiser that needs you to stay out of sight with the invisible trick while doing damage safely from a distance. It's actually the first cruiser that can attack from the back of a BB which makes you a less atractive target in the enemy line if they spot you, an if they don't they won't be able to do anything to you. Was playing recently in PT a match in which I was alone in a flank against a Des Moines, an Izumo and a Yamato. Poor Izumo was receiving salvo after salvo while I was completely invisible and slowly retiring to keep myself out of spotting range. That is the main strenght of the Ibuki and Zao takes that even further with great alpha, pen, shell speed, arc and armor which make her suitable for front line duty too. PD: The very low concealment will actually make you spot most DDs before they spot you if your scout plane hover over then.
  4. Yeah, believe it or not it resist CAs and DDs shelling better. It's not like it will magically stop 406 mm shells from doing massive damage you know? for that you need to dodge. The whole 155 mm guns craze I find it superficial. It's useful against below average players because they can't for the life of then manouver to stop eating the full salvo but if you manouver and make the higher alpha and shell speed of the 203 mm guns work you'll be able to win, and let's not forget that Ibuki's 203 mm can citadel cruisers with AP even on max range, somethin the 155 mm can't. That is true. Which gets compensated by the higher armor and the repair ability. Look Zao has 5k less health than Des Moines but even with Des Moines high RoF a Zao should be able to kill a Des Moines due to the combination of better armor and better guns. Don't blame people for only being able to spam away HE without having the skill to citadel other cruisers or going YOLO and die without using even one charge of the health potion. PD: Aaand you forgot that you can get 9,7km concealment range on the Ibuki with 19km max range on her guns. That pretty much makes her invisible while shooting if no ship is closer than 13,7 km from you.
  5. I would love this too but with which ships? I seriously can't imagine how WG would fill an IJN or USN line with interesting ships of this class.
  6. It can be easily baited though and with the low level of coordination in pubs in a group with 2 CAs both of then will activate then at the same which would leave the whole group vulnerable to attack for 3 minutes. Even if the AA barrage was used effectively to stop one of the CVs attack in a match with 2 CVs in one team the other one can follow suit and make a devastanting strike without the group being able to stop it. But you don't go after BBs in that situation, you go after the CAs which won't be able to recover from the few torps that will hit then. Even from a 3 squad stacked attack if only 3 or 4 torps hit they will seriously cripple any CA except the tier X Zao and Des Moines.
  7. If CVs could only exploit to great effect those lone wolfs... the problem comes too when a CV is top tier and can attack a group of 3 or 4 ships together without losing a single plane. Even if there is a CA using the panic button some of the torps will hit and the damage will be done. And let's not mention if the panic button is on cooldown
  8. Yep, you've played a lot of classes but not very effectively judging by your average damage and winrate. This is what I was refering to when playing seriously other classes. Also, calm down, I'm not insulting you.
  9. Is it that big the difference bettwen winrate of IJN CAs and USN CAs? Can I take a look at those statistics?
  10. You are talking from a CV player point of view but I assure you that everything that makes stuff tougher in the higher tiers, specially battle groups, are done in detriment to the enjoyment of two other classes: CAs and DDs and to a lesser extent BBs too. Truth be told, players feel like the CV is a big bad wolf out there to kill then and being at the mercy of a completely unreachable and untouchable class that can one shot you with minimal effort if you make a mistake doesn't feel good. When any other class faces any other class you can be confident on your own skills that will take you out of that pinch but when you are surroundered by DB and TB you can only pray for the CV to be a bad player or you'll get heavily damaged. I'd recomend some empathy and playing other classes seriously too.
  11. Stop posting cropped screenshots and start linking the profiles already Hannibalurg otherwise it won't suffice as prove for your point.
  12. Those mistakes are very common in normal matches. Even so, the cover from CAs doesn't last forever and a good and patient CV can strike when and wherever he wants without constraints specially if it's top tier in a match. He'll also be able to take advantage of enemy distractions or mistakes much more effectively thanks to not being limited by the RNG of shells or the low speed of ship based torpedoes. I'm looking forward to ranked matches precisely because a CV will be much more restrained by the teamplay that the mode calls for, the short but intense duration of the match and that there will only be one CV per side maximum.
  13. Right now IJN CAs are outperforming USN CAs simply because they can dish out more damage. If this game rewarded plane kills and aerial cover better USN CAs would still have lower damage overall but they'd be compensated by plane kills: Cleveland, Baltimore and Des Moines are plane raping machines after all. About your encounters with Mogami, I think it has much more to do with how you engage an enemy ship: different situations make you have the advantage or not. It's true though that a Mogami with 155 mm is a fearsome oponent on short range but on long range it becomes easier. This comes from a player that prefer the 203 mm guns in the Mogami.
  14. Uhmm... ok The few times I used it it didn't do much to the enemy squadrons. Of course, nothing in any MMO can carry a whole match alone, but being the CV the most flexible class and the only one that can reliably oneshot any class in the game its impact is felt much more than any other class in the game in the great majority of matches. That is carrying a team. If this game had proper teamplay rewards it wouldn't be a problem: Like in a lot of RPG a carrier would be the dealer while other players would fulfill other role like tank or rogue but sadly the rewards aren't in place for other "classes" fo feel satisfied by trying to do teamplay. About your second point, of course, the odd game has a DD, a CA or a BB as the deciding factor but those are much more less frequent than when it is the CV.
  15. I was one shotting NC and such with 2 TB stacked using Midway during the PT. Not completely sure about how this works but the few times I used it I found it very underwhelming. A CV can carry a game if it drags long enough for doing sufficient sorties to wreck the enemy key ships and flanks thanks to the onmipresence planes give then in battle.
  16. It's not irrelevant, USN cruisers are less prone to be citadeled by other cruisers and DD guns deal less damage to then compared to the IJN cruisers. I'm not completely sure but I think they also absorb damage better from BB shells when not hit on the citadel. About why devs didn't nerf HE chance, I suppose they want cruisers actually have a chance at attacking all of the different classes effectively, you know, Jack of all trades master of none.
  17. It's not only AA though. They've got better turret rotation and with the exception of Pensacola better armor. IJN cruisers are glass cannon until you reach Zao which has a very good armor and armor scheme.
  18. You should know very well that Ibuki is sturdier and can perform the invisible cruiser trick while Myoko and Mogami can't.
  19. Well, at least I can say I'm such a mediocre CV player that with me, the enemy team won't have to fear being roflstomped each match so I guess that's one less CV in higher tiers to care about...

    New record in WOWS?

My best was 7 kills with the Iwaki Alpha. Was during the CBT though.

    Clan Kudos: UK Based

Could be worse. Could be like my fellow countrymen that decided to name their clan "Armada Invencible" referencing the most embarrasing and motifying episode of the spanish naval military in its history. And what it's worse is that they didn't name it ironically...

No more Mods after Patch 4.1 ?

Indeed, it's my personal position based in the actions of some of the supertesters and how they have reacted.
  24. OVanBruce

No more Mods after Patch 4.1 ?

Because devs can't react by shuting down harmful mods as they come right? Mods are the field of creativity, they rely on loose rules to make great stuff so this treatment will kill the bigger part of the modding comunity. Censorship and control is what WG is offering to then and nobody likes that. WG will probably make then sign some kind of stupid agreement that no one in their right mind will want to follow. Some of the legitimate modders like Tsukotaku are already turning their atention to other games. I suppose WG wants pet modders. The truth is that it doesn't exist and there has never been any statement about implementing a proper anti-cheat system. I don't care about their words mainly because they haven't said anything and in this world that position equals indiference. Oh please, It's clear at least for me some of you were lying and confounding people here in Tsukotaku's thread. I don't believe your words in this subject nor the words of any of the supertesters one bit. I don't care if you did what you did in Tsu's thread was due to the NDA or personal initiative.
  25. Thanks Donkey, you are doing God's work
