All of this is nice and good, and I'm enjoying the Königsberg like a kid on Christmas but are they really this good? I mean, on random battles we fight average Joe and average Joe happily shows its broadside, spams HE all the time and can't aim. Against someone who knows its game you'll have hard angles, feints, etc. and for those moments you'll need to use HE even against DDs.

It's not cheap, it's basic CV tactic, specially for IJN CVs. If you are using 0,1,2 it's actually better to connect 1 or 2 torps that cause flooding and after being repaired launch your DB: 2 fires deal more damage than flooding and with 12 DB launched over him it's almost guaranteed you'll get 2 fires going and very likely you get 3, 4 if you are lucky.

Until Königsberg german cruisers are truly crap. Free exp the Karlsruhe, won't deny it. Got the Königsberg, got 2 confederate already in just 2 hours of play. That's why I have faith in further tiers if we keep these railguns.

I'd say use the 1 fighter, 1 torp bomber set-up but you need to learn how to use the strafe ability of the fighters. You'll still be fucked if you get an enemy CV with air superiority setup.

If Königsberg is a good example, the line might be fun to play if you know your play.

Well, I allways talk about IJN cruisers which are the best in the game (and supposedly will continue being since the devs said they want IJN CAs to be the best of the best) USN CAs are bad in comparison with only 3 highlights: Omaha, Cleveland and, imo, Baltimore.

It's not an unusual sight from tier 1 to 6 to see a cruiser carrying the match. Things get harder on tier 7 to 9 because you progresively lose agility and you can't reliably angle your ship because 406 mm shells will cut you like as if you were butter, but it's still possible if you find the correct spot from where to attack, use your concealment, torps, speed... everything. BBs are more of a one task ship, very efficient at it, while a cruiser is a polivalent ship but mediocre at all of then: the key to succeed as a cruiser is using as much of your abilities as possible, they won't seem relevant but as they pile up you tip the balance in your team's favour, for that it's key to use your movility to be where it is neededquickly. About Zao, well, she's the pinacle of high tier cruiser play and since you are talking about that.

I never said it wasn't harder to carry a game in higher tiers with a cruiser than with a BB. Also, a Zao definetly can carry a match by itself.

Decided to skip Karlsruhe, that ship is destilated crap. Since I lacked the credits I decided to bring Yuubari out for a spin. I'm literally murdering Kolbergs and Karlsruhes with her. With Yuubari! You know this is wrong right? Help! I might get adicted to sealclubbing.

Zao is and will probably be the best tier X cruiser if devs stick with their decision of making japanese cruisers the best of the best .

Crap penetration though. Broadside engagements on short distances has only given me citadels against Yubari, and that's not much.
