There lies your problem. Drop that turd and bring an effective cruiser. New Orleans would have been useful in a CV meta but now is the weakest cruiser in ranked. I'd bring a DD instead of that. The only good cruisers for ranked are Atago and arguably Hipper. Firepower is everything for a cruiser, the more and more powerful you can bring the better. Your survival against BBs lie in dodging, not on receiving shots. Learn to do accurate long range shots from almost max range to increase the distance you can be effective and consequentially being as far away from the enemy BBs when you are in the open as possible. Cruisers are the weakest class right now in the high tier meta so you'll be fucked up in alot of situations, you'll have to live with that. To minimize the chances of you being fuckef up control positions of EVERYTHING in the map. DDs are your biggest enemies in the field because they will deny your concealment. Being a cruiser is suffering, specially with the lackluster MM you get in tier VII and VIII but you can fill any role in the field. The problem is that it's more difficult to properly fill then compared to the other classes.

Nearly 4000 battles played since Alpha. Currently playing 3 hours a day minimum. Didn't invest as much money as 22cm because I love my vita and want to support her western releases more than WoWs and I agree with Fingers in almost everything. Because capping points with its bigger point tick and smaller point goal for victory made caps and brawling for then more meaningful in the pilot season. Capping is much less relevant now that caps are reduced to only 2, point ticking is smaller and the point goal is bigger which makes battles last longer and the long range sniping possible. Dumbing down ranked so average joe doesn't complain.

Fubuki class was indeed 38 knots when launched but after the Tomozuru incident, that revealed a lot of weakness in hull construction on most japanese destroyers and cruisers, a refit and strenghtening was in order. Consequentially, the extra weight and changes dropped the maximum speed of the Fubuki class to close to 35 knots. Fubuki is a nice DD that can easily stay unspotted the whole match with a bit of plan ahead and saving both screen and engine boost for hairy situations.

Gosh, are you me? This is what I and other players who've sadly left this game were discussing some months ago. CVs were too much of a counter for all classes so something had to be done to ensure CAs and DDs were unattractive targets while making a BB an attractive prey even with cover. Instead now is so easy to minimize damage from a carrier. I precisely spent this morning playing with Lexington and it's now so dull and boring.

There are contests here too, just check out the contests subforum, right now there is an official "shoot down as many planes as you can contest". The problem lies in the volume in NA, both in quantity and quality of the prizes.

Was rank 5 irrevocable? I think it's not. Nevertheless, it does make sense this exploit for the irrevocable ranks thingie. Yet another reason why irrevocable ranks have to dissappear.
