  1. I remember having seen a pic comparing different ships with their in game scale and real scale showing some pretty noticeable differences bettwen then. Pity I didn't save that pic because there is where I got the impression that smaller ships were scaled to be bigger than in real life.

    Montana vs Yamato

Well that's not what you said. You said that yankee AP rounds were far superior to jap AP, not equal as the sources you are quoting.

    atlanta vs DDs

Then some of your shells are probably hitting a 1/3 damage section and others a 1/6 damage section because 2833 is certaintly not 1/3 of 10500. Would be nice if some WG guy could pop up and clarify this but hey, this is EU forum, I guess it's not happening. Will try asking about this in Reddit.

    atlanta vs DDs

I said citadel for convenience, DDs don't have citadels but there are areas of a DD's hull that receive 1/6 of an HE shell damage and others thst receive 1/3. At least this is what I read some time ago. Maybe the whole 1/3-1/6 thing also apply to other ships beside DDs?

    Montana vs Yamato

Now that's something I'd like to have a source about it. Better fire control, more than proved, but shells? That's a first for me.

    Klingon birds of prey!

You'll never spot anything inside smoke unless you get at 2 km from then no matter the circunstances. Hydroacoustics only help you to spot torpedoes earlier so no, working as intended.

What if the "citadel" of a DD is that big?

    atlanta vs DDs

Remember what I said about the difference when hitting centership on a DD
  9. OVanBruce

    Montana vs Yamato

Yamato has allways been superior to Montana ever since she was introduced though I'd agree she's quite what you wouldn't expect from a tier X BB, at least that's the impression I get from Zao. I still think that Yamato should be superior to Montana because whatever the yankees may say she was quite superior to any other Battleships of her time but Montana's gun penetration should be tweaked, specially the lot of bounces you get .

New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

It would be a funny story if this polski guy forwarded his aim mod to WG each time he developed it and gave the devs one or two months to try blocking it before he releases it

So am I wrong and usually HE does 1/3 damage?

    atlanta vs DDs

I think you are mixing up ship section danage threshold with what I'm saying
  13. Smaller ships like destroyers are scaled bigger than what they should be. The whole game works with exagerated scales: ships move faster, turn faster and sharper than what they should, most of the times torps ran at 20-30knots not 70 knots, Shells ttavel 3 to 4 times faster and are 10 times more accurate than in real life. It's all done to make the game enjoyable. Double post.

    atlanta vs DDs

Just to clarify a DD does have sonething alike a citadel. Usually an HE shell does 1/6 of its max damage to a ship, including DDs but if you hit the center of a destroyer with HE, pretty much where the citadel would be if it had one, it does 1/3 of its maximum damage which can hurt quite a bit to a poor DD. A DD can also receive penetrations from AP which will deal the usual 1/3 damage but most shots of an AP salvo if not all will usually overpenetrate dealing 10% of the maximum damage.

    About the Us Cv tree

IJN plane torps ran at 43 knots iirc but as you may know, nerfhammer and now they run at 35. The main problem of lex is that those torp bombers are so slow... 114 knots barely lets you outmanouver an enemy ship and by the monent you can drop most if not all your planes are dead.

    Atago without premium

Just so OP don't get the wrong idea, on tier X you pay 350k on a CV when you get sunk. You do have to pay 100k just for sortieing though. Battleships pay less an so on until DD which only has to pay 220k credits in case it gets sunk, 30k (?) Just for sortieing. A pointer for OP, Atago is a great ship but it's still a cruiser on tier VIII MM which can be the most cruiser hostile ambient in the game. Prepare yourself playing at least until you've unlocked Myoko so you don't get blown up easily.

    Hydroacoustics Revisited

The problem is that the whole balance issue can't be theorysized easily. Players interactions among thenselves and their ships can't be just deducted. In the end balancing is a long and painful process where the meta constantly changes due to how the ships change with each patch or new mechanics and ships are added. The problem lots of people have with WG is that the big problems the game has right now were already predicted by experienced players and their suggestions and ideas for balance changes have been ignored for a long time. Combine this with knowing that most devs don't even play the game and they base most of their balancing decisions on statistics.
  20. OVanBruce

XVM? Nope, stats will be hidden after all

More like everyone agrees that if XVM is introduced the best player on the team will be focused. What is being discussed is wether the chat and in gamecomunications will become more toxic and if it does pay off compared to the advantages of knowing the proficiency of your team mates.

Shepbur, if you are going to treat everyone who has voiced valid conscerns about this issue like kids and use this condescendenting attitude you may as well don't post anything.

    Explanation and apology

I'd recomend reading the replies of the supertesters of these whole 4 threads on this issue to understand why this can be extended to the whole supertest. But yeah, as Aldramenech said, I should stop giving a [edited]and keep watching how the supertesters keep sinking and sinking in the eyes of part of(?) the comunity. Guess I'll take my leave.

    Explanation and apology

You may perceive it that way but lots of other people not. You just have to visit other places that aren't this forum like reddit or 4-chan and you'll keep reading "supertesters this, supertesters that". You can't forget too other supertesters comments, specially Hanseehock's. But yeah, I'm just basing the supertest, it's not like I want then to stop for a moment and think about what they do and say in public to keep a good image.

    Explanation and apology

You weren't there to see the collection of bizarre and surrealist events that surrounded the first 6 hours of the original post. Almost all the people who followed that thread at that time except Ducat1st0's friends coincide that the way he handled all of this was stupid to say the least. And personally it surprises me because, as I've said before I already knew Ducat was a WG fanboy but he never striked me as someone stupid. He did seemed to me someone extremely arrogant toward all people that went against his views or criticized him. And in his arrogancy he decided to completely ignore the people that were simply asking him to give a simple and veridical explanation because he thought himself as someone that was beyond doubt in any circunstance: How COULD he, that (supposedly) has done SOOOOO much for this game and the comunity be accused of using the aim mod "Those are petty people that doesn't deserve my atention" he thought. The acusations, if they can be called like that because they were done in the most non offensive way, were formulated by people that has never been labelled as supertester haters. Some were people with few posts. Even I just waited to see if Ducat would just come, explain this in a reasonable way and then be done with it. Then Ducat friends came. Leaving aside that whatever they said at that moment simply couldn't weight against the pics they made a very bad favour to Ducat by leaving an impression of falsehood and even more arrogance, this time much more visible in the words of Hanseehock. Ducat first erased the pictures, without any word, once people has already pointed out to the signs of the aim assist in his screenshots. When people asked him why he erased the photos he went and popped another useless explanation like the scalable crosshair one. From then on he was not seen anymore. Post edited, post edited again meaning he had time to read the thread, understand what was going on and then he asked for it to be closed without giving a single word. Arrogance, arrogance everywhere. Meanwhile Ducat's friends kept defending him in the most useless of ways, resorting to the point of insulting those who expressed their doubts. Then something happened in the background. This of course, didn't went unnoticed by the WG staff. And stuff was said, stuff was arranged and stuff was decided. And now we have this thread which, if you read, it's more and more fishy. A complete bullcrap explanation, the same kind of defence people used for him yesterday... I was as sceptic as most people were yesterday when this thread had popped up. I was in fact, expectant for him to come up with one of his long and "voice of reason" posts that soothed the will of most people except those that can spot the flaws in his behaviour, but in the end he never did it which is in itself even another reason to be suspicious. In the first thread I even warned him in various posts about this becoming something very nasty, at first cryptically but finally in a direct way but nope. By now, good luck on anyone ever taking Ducat seriously again except his friends. Even if you could gloss it over and reach an agreement with the WG staff (let's not fool ourselves, WG reputation is also at stakes here) his and some of the supertester's arrogancy had broken a good deal of confidence not only on him but also in the supertest institution.

    Explanation and apology

Well I did watch the replay without mods (I'm a firm vanilla WoWs player), twice. It made me raise my eyebrow in couple of moments as I said here. I thought for a moment to actually go and download the aim assist and do a vid with it but I deemed it useless given how things are probably already decided on WGs and supertesters side. Then I saw that webm in the parts that made my eyebrow itchy and come to the conclusion he was most probably using the aim assist. Have you ever visited 4-chan?
