    They dont need to be put into more danger they put themself into danger much more than you think unless all the Fubukis/Kagaros/Shimas you see on your team Torp from 12km plus wich is totrally useless unless you want to leave the battle wich 1-2 Torp hits. Sucessfull IJN DDs torp from 7km max to their target. anything beond are just lucky hits. And your argument about survivabilty is faulty or did you miss that BBs have a much bigger margin than DDs? Subjectiv perception has nothing to do with cold real statistics. Planes arent the only thing spoting DDs because as far as spoting goes DDs are their worst own enemy.
  2. There are more practical reasons why most Warships didnt go beond 40ish cm. Its arguable that even Yamatos gun had a real advantage over Iowas gun. Higher caliber means less but biger shells wich need more propulant to get shot wich case more barrel wear and a larger logistic to keep things going. Also the ships size adds a certain limit if you want a stable firing platform. Take a look at the german Dora 80 cm land based gun. Impresive at 1st sigh but really limited at its use and in 99% of all cases you could get verry many more lesser guns that cause more of an efect.

    5km base range is something to work around for mid Level. High Level Secs are okis.Warspite and Nagato are good example of ships with decent workable Sec and that means it works without the need wasting 5 Comander points skill points for some minor buff. Automatic mechanics shouldnt be op they should add to player actions and not replace them. A fire here the risk of detonating a DD that loiters too long in range thats what works in the game atm making it a deteranterant rather than yuzst rushing the enemy and leting it make your do your work for you.

    Smoke cloud are not rendered if you are in scope mode or inside a smoke cloud. There is no way to reduce your normal spoting distance to under 5.1 km unless there is a pysical object in the way (Island) or your in smoke. at 2 km your spoted anyway by proximity spoting even when in smoke.

    Keep in Mind that high Tir RU Radar CA turn like a brick and are relativly poorly armored. All Vids i saw say keep at 17 km and use your very good Gun arcs. Sound familar? Like German CA have the best sonar but are so fragile their playstyle keeps them away from the frontline to make use of it? US CA might be more of a threat but any CA that goes into anti DD range will pretty much very fast become the focus of any BB/CA in the enemy team. The only time its okish is when moping up the rest of the enemy team after they have lost most of their ships.

    The point is not every ones does captain extraction. Its quite posible to finish the ship without geting the requirement for the 16 point captain. If she isnt removable it would be better if they just had game the fixed exp required for 15 skillpoint aded to that specific captain. Probably would be harder to program so they chose the easy solution. Wel unless they iclude voice files for the Kongos it wont ever sail with their intended captain anyway unless you missed out on one of the Missions. why pot a 0 point Haruna on her ship when you have a 12 point Kongo or a 15 point Hiei?

    Dive Bombers

    I didnt know that the Lacaster was a Dive Bomber. The Baracuda that atacked Tirpitz had 1,600 lb (730 kg) bombs. Well If Graf Zepelin comes we might see 1000 kg Stuka Bombs. Anything above that is probably not used on a carrier plane. Edit; or do you think the RN is so bad that they need off Map strategic bombers? Well good luck hiting a target that is under power with one of thease. Just to show ,-) :

    Is the game less enjoyable becaue certain navys aren in yet? If you think so just stop playing end dont get on everybody elses nerfs. You could also have opened the post with "Arent Warspites 40mm Pom Poms underpowered ....and why is the RN not in the game yet"? Ones has to come 1st one has to come last and none of us is to dicide what the next line will be. That up to WG but you can be sure they have experience what makes most sense economical for them. Nobody tells you to like it. If you dont there is a door.
  11. US Gunarc works in its anti DD role. you dont engage enemy dds abve 10 km anyway because of the spoting disstances. It balance out the stealthfire vs biger targets. Dont forget Gerring dont needs to be at 12km like lower level US DDs.Sonar is useless even German one because you most likely dont have it up when it counts. Floatfighter on the other had can ruin a DDs day that is using precsision Torps runs. CAs that dont rely on stealth usally have the spoting skill and Target aqusition gear are not easy to hit with Torps and thats what BBs have on most of the time too but they are hampered by their slower rudershift time. and 1 to 2 Hits dont sink a BB. It can get a sizable amogh of health back. Compare that to a CA that get hit by its counter BBs and get 1 to 2 Citadels wich are way harder to avoid. And why are CV take Bomber loadout? take a look at US lines Lexi had a 2/1/1 loadout as base and the usally either full strike or full fighter. WG removed the base setup "because nobody played anthing but base" totaly ignoring what player wanted. Lexi was the only ship that had something like a balanced setup wich makes IJN in T7 to 9 Fun to play.US are one trick ponys Rule the sky but if your team sucks get killed anyway because you have near 0 influrance on the ship to ship battle. Even when spoting DDs your need your team to kill them and i have seen enogh player simply ignoring them.Or risk it all and do damage and get exp and credits out of a fight. 1000 lb Bombs helps a bit to reduce the total uselessness of fighter setups but most player dont want to lose the Strike power of Torpedobombers.
  12. If you want a flater arc play RU DD but you pay for the arc with higher visibility. What prople dont underdatand is that 20km Torps sounds nice but at above 12 km its spray and pray. Its not your skill but the enemys lack of makeing course changes scoring hits at long range. Sucessfull atacks are done from below 7 km. Thats is why Sima has less problems with radar, It simply has near dobble the number of the next lower level IJN DD and as such nearly dobble the chance of scoring lucky hits. And i wouldt conmplain about CVs. They are not imcompetent but WG force them to look primaryly for themself or risk geting sniped because the mere presence of an enemy CV can stop you from having a meaninfull impact till its dealt with. They simply dont have plaes to spare to keep above DDs unless its endager his own vessle.

Minimum normal detection range is around 5.1 km and none of the dangerous DDs have it. 5.4 is more realistic and you cant fire your guns or you instant spoted at this distance wich was the problem the OP had. to get that close you have either use the cover of an island or smoke. But i highly suspect in your case there was neither but naturally you dont have a replay to suport your claim? Sorry very old tragic storry allways pop up when DDs pop up unrealistic close.

  15. Sorry to tell you BBs are not supsed to fight DDs on their own. its not the enemy they excel agist DD are good balanced agist BBs. in High tir agist CA is another matter but even there is more of a problem that CA that go after DDs are near instant deleted by BBs.
  16. Games played in Amagi 70 games played in a T7 BB 0 perhaps playing the game rather than buying his way up would helped him too. Anyway by the time a Benson has killed the OP with invis fire a Amagi has sunk half the enemy team thanks to the crappy arc. Invis fire from DDs are more anoying than anything else. Now an Ibuki on the other had is another can of worms but still very sitiational.
  17. Dream on. Why do you they removed 2 TB squads loadouts from US CV? Might have something to do with the spread being OP to begin wich together with plane survivability? Seen some of the after nerf results? Torpedo aceleration is a sure way to get decent damage even with 1 TB together with the 1000lb bombs. If its saipan they probably make it T6 and to make it better than Indi it has more reserve planes.

    T4/T5 are good but if you show your side too much your dead in seconds since they are scout cruisers without real armor. Like was said before even DDs can cit on thease. Angeling and not just waving buy also changing speed to throw of enemys aim should be practiced on thease Levels

    Good thing that nearly all posts are not on the topic ,-). I find DDs are allways flimsy to Module damage even when the modules (like gunturets on US DDs) are upgrades like Baterie mod 1. simply the downside of not having citadels. Too bad the anti crit talent is on the same level as Stealth.

    Shokaku planes ? Are you sure? thogh 4/5 plane squads are still pretty squishi to ships with decent AA.(means you shoot quite some down before they drop)

    Well i get aprox the same mid exp with her as you and dont find her lacking. Its a change from the shotgun Fuso style to more preceise lower number Guns but that is it. Overall a soild BB that is devastating agist same or lower level oponets ánd still not too bad agist higher ones. I usally can make her armor work was that Kongo that shot you at long distance? plunging shots?

  25. I woudnt argue the rising sun flag case. THAT is a very sensetiv isue and its more in asia and not the US because China Korea and co have a very long grudge agist the crimes comited under that flag just like the jews agist the swasika. Asia have traditinal a VERY long memory for grudges. German ploliticans dont have to apologies everytime they visit Israel (even if most make a show out of respecting the isue). An offiical Japanease representiv have to pay much for mind to the the ise when wisiting SEA contrys. Calling people who are offended by such iseues idiots show little respect for the wrongs done. Yes yes you can call it dobble standards but showing all offensive flags is even more disrespectfull. If want it in go to moding. Otherwise its their game/their rules.
