    Game Modifications: Pros and Cons

    I get it that this aim enchanting mod is not as game breaking as people think and all, but for the love of god If hundreds upon hundreds( or probably even thousands) of players hate it passionately and make it quite obvious that they certainly do not want this mod to be legal or considered to be part of the game then Why in the Seven burning hells are you not banning the use of this mod?
  2. I searched around about the South Dakotas earlier in the forums but I found nothing worthwhile So I decided to start this topic. I'm rather interested why is the North Carolina class is the tier 8 Battleship in the USN tree and Why not the South Dakotas? I read about the South Dakota and North Carolina class and It seems that the South Dakota was better in terms of armor protection and was shorter as well anything other than that they seemed pretty similar ( not counting the 2 turrets more 127 mm DP guns on the NC) I ask this because currently afaik the Bismarck, Littorio and such battleships are placed in tier 8 and I thought the SDs would be more suitable against such an opposition. What is their current place in the Tech Tree?

    The Aoba

    Buffing the Aoba's Rate of fire might not be the best idea. That ship already has the fastest RoF among the CAs excluding the Des Moines. If they move the Cleveland to Tier 7 or 8 and fix the amour issue The ship might shine as a long range sniper. If you absolutely want to buff it then buff the mobility and maybe the reduce her spotting range. Maybe give her more health but If she'd have a more sensible RoF on her guns, (I'm speaking here about 4-4,5) then she might get rekt in tier 7 battles due to having less guns than Mogami and Pensacola.

    Decreasing Shell velocity would be better, It would give time to the players to dodge. But imho if Wg would implement it they can say farewell to E-sport and such as well as any kind of serious gaming community.

    Are you sure that the Aoba is a good tier 6 ship? Can you say with certainty that it is balanced against tier 6 ships excluding the Cleveland? Can it perform in a tier 7 battle? Can It do something against Mogamis, Pensacolas and Nagatos? Will the Aoba be a major influence in a tier 5 game? Or will it be just yet another ship? Can This ship carry a game? Even a tier 6 one? Is it able to influence a tier 6 game in the same degree an Omaha can a Tier 5? Or a Pensacola a tier 7?

    Well, That supposed to be the Space Battle tier. You remember that April 1st announcement about the new development direction? Well Now they are testing it. Tier 30 will be the max now, IIRC the Space Battleship Yamato will be at tier 29 while the Polish Imperial Star Destroyer will be around tier 27 maybe? Though I'm interested how will they balance the Space Hussar class starfighters, they might be a bit OP for that tier.

    Torpedo guide is in the game because leading a torpedo with a speed of 65 knots is helluva lot harder than leading a shell flying at 850 m/s against a moving target from 10-15 kms

They could make a skill called: "Their finest hour" Can only be used if Hp drops below 20% Increase ROF on All guns by 200% Instantly resets the cooldown on every other consumable Increase AA power by 100% Only lasts for 1 minute After that the ship will be disabled for 30 seconds, all guns cease fire and the engine shuts down

    Well to be honest I wasn't entirely sure that what I said had any sense what-so-ever. I've read somewhere that the ships cause a higher server load than tanks but that"s probably becasue of the more complex damage models and such. I apologise for giving some bullsheep info. Well the thing is that the main player base, I think around 40% use toasters to play the game. The main problem is with the size of the game. Currently my client is 16,8Gb with these low resolution models. There are only 2 nations in the game right now with 3 lines each. Now imagine that when there'll be 5 or 6 nations each having 3 or 4 lines with more than 150 ships the client will be enourmous, even without HD models it will be around 50+/-10gb. Edit: I forgot to add that most people only have a 5-30 mbps internet so having to downloading a 120 GB HD client will severly limit the player base. Now It's possible that after the release Wg will start working on HD models and make a different client, but currently I doubt they have the time to do such things. Even now it takes a long time to model ships. Right now it might be better to just implement the first 5 or 6 nations as quickly as possible and after that we can worry about the HD models.

    Umm what about the AA buff on ships? Or is it just a bug fix of some sort for the port stat display or something? Also can you elaborate the small buff to DDs part?

    you've droped them too close to the ship and the torps did not armed. There's a minimum arming distance to air-dropped torps.

    Well I do not remember the Farragut having 22 AA score or the Cleve having 47 with Upd hull and ofc Des Moines with 71... I'm pretty sure they put a plus 10-20 on every ship The Omaha had 8 before patch now she has 12 same with Phoenix bf patch 2 now 7

    Well currently the AA is basically working like an AoE DOT. So it's like your main guns casting corruption on the Buffalos while also firing against that pesky and quite ballsy DD over there.

    Well Firstly It's a free-to-play game so the aim of the developers is to make it available to as many people as possible. When your client is between 70-150 Gb it's significantly harder to achieve that. Secondly. What I tried to tell you by the polygon numbers is that even now the team's sizes are reduced because of the server load the ships HD models cause. If you want to impelement a really nice full HD all vanilla extra chocolate model the teams would only consist of 3-4 ships. If you wanna play games with really nice graphics, F2P games might not be your genre.
  22. When you are in a cruiser it's much easier to avoid getting hit by torps due to your manouverability and the AA barrage skill. And please do not bring the DDs are OP and can counter BBs thing here. They are not. The lower tier DDs might be overpowered due to the fast reloading torps but after tier 5 they are useless chunks of floating metal. I love my Nicholas and Farragut they can be incredible fun but they cannot do jacksheep against anything other than other DDs and low-HP CAs. CVs can be killed by anything. I'm played some games in the Langley with Fighter heavy setup and now I'm playing the Indepence with TBs. I managed to plant 10-12 torps into Myogis and Kongos but even more I screwed up and launched the torps closer and did zero dmg to the guy. But even my best torp was only took half the health of a Tier 4 BB. CVs are not that big of a deal. Even the best player probably cannot manage to kill 3 Full Hp BBs in one battle unlike a Good BB that can wreck half the enemy team....
  23. Why are people complaining that the class that should counter battleships are actually countering them to some degree? Also even if you take a full double rainbow torpedo surprise vanilla mega-ice cream you will lose at most half of your health if you are in a BB and it takes 3-7 min to do a torpedo attack run.

    The ship models are already HD. These models contain multiple times the polygons HD tank models do.

    Well... yes, but what we have in this game is an "effective" range, not maximum range. The guns are not elevated to 45 degrees and the shells even at maximum range are not falling straight down to the decks of the ships. The ranges that are in game are influenced by the fire control systems and not by the guns. so what we currently have ingame are essetinally the medium ranges I believe. The maximum ranges of the 406mm and 460mm guns are still 40-45km. I can still be wrong in which case I apologise. Edit: Ehh Okay I tried to test it and it seems that the game really operates on maximum range, which seems rather weird. But it's hard to say because the guns themself doesn't seem to elevate to 45° but the shells doing the plundging fire thingy, it's hard to say really. Edit No.2 I found this pic of the HMS Rodney's 406mm guns elevated to maximum. So yeah I do not think the current BB guns are doing this ingame. : Edit No.3: Testing again. The ballistics seems to be rather weird in the game right now. I tracked the shots fired to various distances and It seems that when firing to maximum range the shells are doing this nice curve when suddenly at the end they do this "looney tunes-y" sudden fall and arrive at a much greater angle than they should. Very interesting.
