Short ranged drops can be negated If you give the short ranged AA a considerable buff I think, It would happen, but the CV player would suffer from it, Why are we arguing again? -

yeah we really do not try to nerf them, we want to rework them, so like even an average player can enjoy them, and they do not one salvo battleships.(or anything at all tbh) they need to be reworked not nerfed or buffed -

Yes, but can you say that the normal, average or slightly below/above average players can avoid successfully short ranged stacked drops? which is basically the only way to actually play a carrier effectively. Like, fighters setups are terrible, they effectively give you minimal rewards just to make the other guy's job more painful and You can barely influence the battle with them, Dive-bomber's damage is far from actually making an impact on the game as well, the only way to participate in a battle actively is to use TBs. -

I meant base HE fire chance, and this get used to it doesn't really work, people will complain that they get vaporized, overall WG tries to reduce these things, they implemented armor changes, and I rarely saw anyone getting one-shotted in the last few patches, yeah they get high damage, but not as high as before,DD torpedoes are not that effective and such -

You can easily reduce fire chance/ damage and the problem is solved, but like this one attack-one sunk method is only making people toxic towards CVs and torpedoes and battleships and like against everything else that does burst damage Like, the best thing would be to simply reduce these burst damage thingies. make citadel hits like smaller and such, torpedoes not as damaging, but not as easily avoidable and such -

Yeah, that's true and all, but because everything does it that does not mean it's the right way to do it. urgggh,, this is a hard thing to like say, but burst damage is overall bad because of the hate it causes, but like, How can I put it, people complain about burst damage in every class, but when you get killed by something that you can see and fight, that kinds of makes it more bearable like Yeah torpedoes are not people's favorite, but they can see the destroyer, they can scare it away, they can run from it, they can do things about it. Against CVs the most you can do is trying to avoid it, and most players, average players cannot do that, and that frustrates them... like,, uurgggh It is more like the people weather it better to getting hit by a Jagdpanzer E100 than a T92 when they do the same damage, like you feel me? -

Oh hell forum went bonkers Well another reason to use my orangutan Sharana the things is, It doesn't really matter that you like getting 50% HP in one go removed from your ship, The thing is most players, the average players cannot avoid most torpedoes and they will suffer immense damage to their ship, and that frustrates the hell out of them, That is not the way, this massive burst damages will only make more CV haters, I played a lot of games and in most of those games players always hated to fight against burst damage dealers, in WoW the rogues and mages, In LoL the burst AP carries, in WoT the SPGs, That concept just only generates hate nothing more. Oh, please tell me seriously that you believe that people actually prefer getting 60-80% of their health removed every 5 minute instead of getting hit by 10-15% of their health every 1-2 minutes. Tell me with honesty that you believe that the people love getting annihilated by sudden burst of damage, tell me that people prefer to fight against Auto-loaders in Wot instead of normal tanks, tell me that you rather see a high skill ceiling class which only rewards really good players and punishes everyone who won"t suffer through them until they get better, tell me that you love the current CV meta Look me in the eye and tell me that you actually believe in these things. I never said that that's actually a good thing, Burst damage is never good, those are problems as well that should be fixed You should be able to launch an attack every 1-2 minutes and not 4-5 with sudden burst damage -

Na-aah The problem is that you can one shot a ship every 3-4 minutes Which is called burst damage Hate me for it but I will do it Look at the Arty in Wot, It does horrendous damage in one shell then reloads for a long time, This is balanced with the horrendous accuracy and aim time and look at that every single person hates it. And now look at the AW arty, It reloads fast, accurate and deals moderate damage, and people do not have a problem with that. IT is the god damn same thing here, you try to balance incredible burst damage potential with soft stats, That is bonkers, bonkers I tell you And oh please do not even try to come here with the arty is not CV, that's not what I said That's the problem, That's the main problem and until you do not accept that, everyone will hate CV who get's pwnd by one Every single person -

I probably read it, but I'm studying for my exam which is about global ecological and economical problems while listening to electro EDM so I'm not 100% focusing and/or remembering who said what and such I think that If WG will continue on the burst damage CV route, we will only see more and more problems and whines associated with it. Reduce CVs damage with increasing the speed of planes so they will deal less damage more often, and sort out the fighter's role and their progression. -

I tell you a better way. Make planes faster, reduce the damage one strike can make(torp damage reduction with increased manual spread), nerf long range(>3 km) AA, buff short range(<2 km)(slightly) increase flight speed of planes, remove fighter decks altogether, give small HE bombs to fighters, make DB, TB and balance oriented decks, make IJN have 5 planes per squad, give increased XP for shot down planes, rework the fighter progression in the tree, no biplanes, smoother DPS progression, add DBs AP bombs-which slows them down considerably increases their cooldown and reducing their accuracy-need for manual drops but very nice damage maybe I missed something You mean less damage for 15-20% of players, more damage for 60% of them? Yeah tell me how is that a bad idea ? Edit: Waiiit what? didn't you meant that backwards? -

Every class/vehicle/vessel that deals immense damage in a short period with large cooldowns / slow rate of fire and such is a nightmare to balance and a whine source. Like seriously, It is the most (well I can really say a lot of words here) way to implement something into a game. Burst damage is not the way, but sadly WG do not really want to admit that. -

The thing is, that If someone decides to play CVs and then in his/her first 5 battles he achieves barely anything, then she/he stops playing because It is just simply no fun. This means that only players that are good at CVs, mostly because they stick with them long enough to learn them, will then play them. And this is the problem. You will have very few but very good CV players and balancing them will be a nightmare, You cannot nerf them because barely anyone playes them, and you cannot buff them because those who play them are wrecking stuff. It is bonkers. They need to reduce the difference in damage dealing ability between the very good and the very bad players- nerf the manual drop and buff the auto drop, give alternative damage dealing/ XP gaining ways that feel rewarding, Use bombs on fighters, rework the fighter progression, and such changes -

The problem is when a complete newbie starts to play a CV, It is really hard to actually have a good game in them when you barely started playing, they are really hard to learn compared to battleships and cruisers, a bad player can do something in a battleships, a bad CV player can do nothing, barely anything( nearly same with destroyers but they are a high risk high reward class CV should not be) And the feeling when you make a short ranged, stacked drop against a BB is soo far from the feeling when you win a duel against a same class or when you make a successful torpedo run in a destroyer or when you beat a DD in short ranged dogfight with a cruiser... -

Well, CVs are horrible for newbies because they have a high skill ceiling to be effective, fighter setup is not entirely justifiable in the current meta, Fighter progression is bonkers, just absolutely bonkers I even have a topic about it, The class altogether lacks a rewarding feeling, I always felt that I am just preying on the crippled and even in my best match I just felt that: "yeah, I almost felt like I had an impact here". Very good players can kill others with impunity which is not the main problem, the problem is the way they do it in which they stack a bunch of TBs on top of each other and kill a nearly full HP battleship in a short range drop, which is pretty much the basic problem here since the beginning of CBT, since WG doesn't seem to get that this is a horrible experience for the receiving guy, so the "stack short drops" are a big cause of the "[edited]" whine. If WG cannot make the class a constant medium-high damage dealer with a normalized skill ceiling and some sensible fighter progression then no matter how much they try to refine it with soft stat balance they're only painting a sinking boat -

Yeah, I'm saying for at least 2 months for now that CVs are too weak, and frustrating to play and no fun for newbies, but yeah let's get a high tier CV so I can justify my crying even more. -
