    I don't see tier 4 and 5 players underperforming. My clanmate in CBT had better results in his Ranger than Hiryuu and Shoukaku (he got the Ranger after). Seems to me people basing this whole USN CV is underpowered based on just 2-3 OP IJN CVs that WG already said they will nerf. Now I was talking about performance. the FUN factor however is entirely different. I always criticized carrier gameplay for that. sealclubbing is not what I consider fun. Maybe some do but I don't. I don't like taking all strike loadouts and send TBs wave after wave at an enemy ship until he sinks, I don't like having only fighters that I click on the enemy planes and just watch them doing their job massacring the defenseless enemy planes. WG's approach to carriers for both IJN and USN is just wrong and not fun. All my suggestions to carrier gameplay was to change that, to remove specialty and change it to advantage vs disadvantage instead. In CBT I played the first 3 IJN carriers with the balanced setup just because I liked having the option of a fighter and the multi-tasking demands than came with having 3 kinds of squads that you have deal with, even if it meant that my average damage with it had to suffer, at least I had more fun playing this way, and I believe they should balance carriers from both nations around that. Heck I even went all the way to propose a complete loadout and mechanic rehaul proposal to carriers out of frustration.

    I could be very wrong here, but from a google translated RU post, I could understand that accuracy depends on 3 circles around your ship, sort of like: short range, mid range and long range accuracy, and being more accurate in short range doesn't mean you are more accurate at long range. There was this on RU dev blog regarding shell dispersion.     Carrier balance atm: IJN: great game if no enemy carrier, terrible game against USN carrier USN: great game against IJN carrier, terrible game against no carrier and thus, since MM will give you both, balance will be achieved. This is why black and white balancing is a terrible idea imo!

    One thing you can do with Myougi to increase survivability is angling, her turret placement allows you to fire all your guns at a very sharp angle so situational awareness and turret locking are very important. Since accuracy is very poor for such low number of guns, I find it best to rush lone battleships, angling to minimize incoming damage, then fire a full AP broadside at the enemy citadel. The higher caliber will produce a very nice citadel damage of 10k per citadel hit, if you manage multiple you can seriously hurt the enemy + your better secondaries will do some work too. It's not an amazing ship by far, but you need to work hard to do okish in it, sort of like Furutaka.

In this next dev Q&A post on RU server He replies to a comment to why buff Furutaka, she's a great cruiser, fearing she might get overpowered with: (google translate) "We listen and consider it correct.     IJN DD line change suggestion

    I was trying to come up with ways to fix Mutsuki and I considered all the changes devs made during CBT. I came to conclusion that the ship is really hard to balance in the way devs want IJN DDs to perform, here are probable reasons why: - It has the same number of torps of Minekaze but of bigger caliber (610mm) in which has higher detection than smaller caliber. Mutsuki being the lowest tier that carries them, she also has the lowest damage and speed of those 610mm. She can't have better torps because the higher tier ships carries them. She uses the same torps on Aoba. - She can't have faster reload same as Minekaze. Otherwise people will complain about Hatsuharu for having crappier reload compared to Mutsuki. Even buffing her reload by 10-15 seconds will still make her DPM worse than Minekaze so it won't solve the problem, and it will just increase the whining on torp spam. - All her armament are at their full potential. She can't have better guns or AA. Her maneuverability and stealth is also one of the best, and her top speed is lower than Minekaze but it's historical so devs can't do much here. Buffing her detection lower than 5.9km will just make people whine about invisible DDs more So the way I see it, Mutsuki is at her limit. I suggest replacing Mutsuki with Hatsuharu. They carry the same number of tubes and Hatsuharu's current torps are better suited for tier 6. Hatsuharu has better guns than Mutsuki which is compensated by lower maneuverability and the worse detection of IJN DDs (6.7km) This will leave a blank at tier 7 in which I propose Shiratsuyu-class. They were improvement over the Hatsuharu so it makes sense they come after. They are basically identical but they carry 2 quadruple torp launchers for a total of 8 torps compared to Hatuharu's 6. She can also have the same torpedo stats of Hatsuharu, same suvivability and stealth. I'm not sure but I think she has worse AA but she won't lose her 5th guns because of it. So the only improvement will be in the 2 extra torps you get. This makes sense because Fubuki at tier gets 9 torps of the same stats. While I don't think Hatsuharu is bad at tier 7 she's average as best. I don't think the extra 2 torps on Shiratsuyu will make her OP, at best it will improve her hitrate slightly. Hatsuharu fits at tier 6 because she is just an overbuffed Grem. The torps might be slightly overpowered but she doesn't have a big reload for them and they are only 6, her detection is very big too. I suggest the stock torps be removed and replaced with current Mutsuki torps. This will make Hatsuharu with the stock torps a very bad torpedo boat but you will have 5 guns. If you want the 10km 62kts torps you have to use the 2nd hull which will remove 1 of your guns. Mutsuki can be a tier 5 at the second DD line. TL;DR remove Mutsuki for now, replace her with Hatsuharu and bring Shiratsuyu at tier 7.

  16. Oh I know WG, and I know of all the tanks they overnerfed, but I don't know of a single terrible tank/ship that was buffed so much it became OP. Just like Izumo or Mutsuki, both buffed but still considered bad by the players. At least let us see the buff and test it, if it became OP then I would agree to revert some of the changes (I honestly think RoF is not necessary but maybe for the stock guns). Look at the Aoba, even with buffs if should still be worse than an Aoba, and no one call Aoba OP.
  17. But we have no info on the magnitude of the buff.. it could be 0.1 RoF, 5 degrees for the turret, and 0.something for the rudder. Just because it is getting buffed on more than one place doesn't mean it will be ridiculously OP. Why people are so afraid of buffing a ship but when it come to nerfs everyone starts demanding for some left and right?! Jeez!!

  21. I believe removing spotting ability from ship fighter floatplane is one way to help improve this. Also remove them from battleships.

Just like how they overbuffed Izumo with 45 seconds turrets and 7km range, or Mutsuki with 10.5 RoF guns... or early in CBT when IJN DDs got their turrets speed buffed by almost 50% in some cases, and later received 15-30 seconds buff for their torpedoes reload? None of them became OP, in fact stats showing they are still underperforming, and dismissing a buff for a ship (that certainly needs it) because of fear of overbuffing is just silly.
  23. I'm doing fine in it, and I think she needs a buff. So if a ship considered balanced if some people did "ok" in it.. does that mean if I can do good in a tier 7 ship in a tier 10 game that this ship is OP and should be buffed to tier 10? So why WG is even bothering to balance anything? In that case IJN CVs are not OP and should not be nerfed. Even WG themselves want to buff the freaking ship, and few here want to stop it because they had average 50 game in it? Honestly, will 5 seconds to turret traverse be OP? will a couple of seconds to rudder shift time be OP? Will a slight buff for her torpedo, like 1 km extra range will be OP? Hell, even giving her extra 2 seconds reload won't be OP. I fail to see why, Aoba has all that, she's a tier higher and still considered only as OK ship. Also, if you are afraid to think that you will overperform in the ship, then why aren't you complaining about the already good ships in the game that you will overperform in? "Ships of the same tier should be more or less on par with one another, be it different playstyles and some playstyles fit some people better than others. They have to be balanced around excellence within the playstyle, not around mediocrity or worse within the playstyle." And who will judge that the ships of the same tier are on par with each other, you? me? You seems to have played Furutaka only at CBT, I played about 100 games combined in CBT and OBT, does that make you or me an expert on how Furutaka is universly doing vs the Omaha and Murmansk? Can we soundly judge that away from our few experiences and preferences?     Hoping it will come with the fighter rebalance patch they mentioned. Thing is, if they made plane kills give xp then all nations should be able to do it to a degree, especially if they remove the strike loadouts, IJN fighters are better be worth it!
