Update 0.4.1 - No 3 TB squads until tier 9
Takeda92 replied to Leonadios's topic in Aircraft Carriers
The fighters changes on most tiers were not enough to compensate. I did not try the new mechanic however. But yeah, according to my friend who played both nations carriers, USN is the way to go now. They get the same or even better at strike and even better at Air except tier 8 and above it seems. -
Zuihou (1/1/2) to 1/2/1 Ryuujou (1/1/2) to 3/1/1 and 1/2/2 Hiryuu (1/2/2) to 3/1/2 and 2/2/2 Shoukaku (1/2/2) to 3/1/2 and 2/2/2 Taihou (2/2/2) to 2/3/2 ad 3/2/2 Hakuryuu (3/3/2) to 2/3/3 and 4/2/2 fighters DPM: Houshou 28 Zuihou 35 RJ 41 Hiryuu 55 Shoukaku 96 Taihou 80 Hakuryuu 87 honestly I don't get the balance of it. Hiryuu now is very bad and not competitive with fighter loadout. Her 3 fighters are no match for 2 lex fighters and her attack attack squadrons are too weak considering how useless DB are.

Oh.. Kagerou also have been buffed. Turret traverse from 36 s to 30 s
-
considering the captain skill made the 155mm guns turn as fast as the 203mm, I guess it is fine. You can get it to 36 seconds as opposed to 30 seconds.
-
1-1 seems to do the trick. Just send a CVL with 4 slots and go through 1-1 a few times and you'll see planes start leveling up.
-
I just got thrown out again. I don't know if I was idling comparing stats or server went down.
-
Furutaka: stock and elite guns turret traverse: 36 seconds elite gun RoF. 4 rpm rudder shift time: 9.2 seconds elite torpedoes are Mutsuki's elite torpedoes with 0.8 rpm, you need 2nd hull to unlock it. Minekaze: concealment: 6.2 km turret traverse for both guns: 30 seconds elite torps removed. Mutsuki: top gun traverse: 18 seconds with 10.5 RoF stock gun: 30 seconds traverse. torpedo RoF: 0.8 rpm detection: 6.2 km

Now if only they do the same to Kagerou.. less range for faster turrets, that would be great!

I was reading a dev answer on RU forum when I can to this: I never heard that the engine boost causes camo penalty before.. certainly not when they first introduced the skill on 4.0 bullet-in nor in the skill description. Why did they add a penalty to a skill without telling anyone about it? I've seen threads of people complaining they got spotted before they should. I bet this is the culprit. Good thing they are getting rid of it.
-
Well not by much. Even though the 7km are faster, the reaction time for the is the same because the 10km are spotted way closer (1.6 for the 7km vs 1.3 for the 10km). This gives a 8.8 seconds reaction time for the 10km and 9.0 seconds for the 7km.

Lol E-2 hard already gave me the rage.. will switch to medium. Rewards aren't worth it!

BBs at 4-5km are still more accurate than, say.. 10-15km.. but you still get that RNG that sometimes ruins your shots. Since BBs get massive firepower, making them accurate at that range might seem overdone. However, at 3km you should experience way less RNG in your shots. Note that it affects all ships, the difference is noted for BBs most because they are the most inaccurate of all ships. Imo, I think of this change as a fix rather than a buff. Because when you do sometimes get in a point blank range, fire a salvo and it all misses, you know something is wrong.. and hopefully this change intended as a fix for that. edit: Please, don't see it as way for BBs to snipe DDs, that wasn't what the change is for.
-
The purpose of it wasn't to buff the accuracy because they were lacking.. it's because BBs, because of the range logarithm, made them unrealistically inaccurate at short range.. that made guns split shells even at point blank. I believe this buff was just to make the transition of accuracy as you increase the range you are firing at.. short: very accurate.. medium: slightly accurate. long: very inaccurate.

So what is exactly the flavor of the IJN line? Weaker fighters Weaker TBs Weaker DP Weaker carrier and no more faster servicing time (which was the main advantage of IJN carriers) Don't underestimate the whining of the NA forum..
-
I hope the Mogami turret nerf is just for the 155mm guns. I see no reason why the 203,, guns should suffer for this.. they are already mediocre and have very low range!
-
That's another thing that bugs me. Nerf Minekaze (which is so far so good depending on the turret speed buff) but they let Cleveland once again untouched. Cleveland that is already more OP than Minekaze ever was. We'll have to how God know how long until that CL line comes and we can finally get rid of that Abomination!
-
Since ranked matched are on tier 6-7.. let's see how many pick a tier 6 or 7 DD.
-
The problem is they never said it would have this effect. Not in the skill description or anywhere by a official dev at least on the English EU region. Instead players had to figure it out. Once again WG poor communication and informing the playerbase shows up.

Yes.. I love me some loli twintails with a fang XD More seriously though, ever since the Italians were added to kancolle I've been gaining interest in their navy. I'll even go and say I'm more excited for Italian ships in WoWS than German ships. My level 70+ Roma is ready to prove her might in later maps of this event. P.S. I'm taking the event slowly and I should just clear E-1 today

I want to make this post so players know to take ship stats that are shown in game with a grain of salt. I'm pretty sure some of you have seen this already, regarding torpedo acquisition ranges (that so far, no dev or supertesters confirmed, but haven't denied either. So yes, I'm not forcing you to 100% believe it) It seems they are already posted In Sharana's spotting mechanics guide, so they are most likely true. Thank you Sharana for sharing them. As you can see, on both nations, as you go up a tier, usually you get faster torps. Speed is a stat that people like to compare when comparing different destroyers. The faster they are the better they are right? Well Yes and no. You see, there is one stat WG isn't showing us, the detection range at which the torpedo get spotted. This is a fixed value for each torpedo. The person who made the picture calculated how much time need for the torpedoes to reach the target as they get spotted, this is the time the target have to start his evasive maneuvers. Obviously the lower the time the better. As you can see from the numbers, those reaction times don't seem to change that much. For US DDs they are all almost the same. As for IJN DDs, they go higher when you start using the 610mm torpedoes (how ironic), in which all of them are more or less the same. Take for example Mutsuki vs Hatsuharu (T6 vs T7) you go from same number of torpedoes (6 for both) but you get 3 kts faster torps and 1k more damage. This makes you think you got an improvement, but in reality, nothing was changed. A player who is paying attention will have the same time to react to either of them. The speed increase in this case, is just a mind trick, to give you an illusion that you are progressing. However, one thing I should say, that for a player who is not paying attention, this will mean something. because if he spotted both of them at the same range after being careless, he will have less time to to react, and any seconds he wastes means more likely he will get hit. Keep in mind however, that the speed increase comes with shorter range, so it's a trade. What I'm trying to say is: destroyers over the tiers improve in torpedo range and damage only, and sometimes number of torps per salvo. This is at the cost of reload time and costs too of course. Speed isn't really that much big of a deal, and in my opinion should be left out from any torpedo comparison from now on. To me, IJN torpedoes aren't as great as everyone (and WG) are making them to be, they are actually balanced vs American (and Soviet) torpedoes by being more likely to be dodged.

Swapping Mogami and Ibuki doesn't make any sense. Ibuki was supposed to be some kind of an upgraded Mogami. The problem is not with the ship but with the guns. It's because the 155mm are too good compared to 203mm now after the range increase skill, and since Ibuki doesn't upgrade her 203mm guns that much compared to Mogami, it seems Ibuki is worse. But the fact is, it's the guns that are just "worse." Honestly, part of me feels like that commander skill needs to be nerfed a bit. It just provides too much of a buff for few ships. Before the skill people could argue for the use of 203mm guns.. I like to use them during CBT!

Why were the Battleship Gun Upgrades Removed?
Takeda92 replied to Nipple_Destroyer_MK_IX's topic in Battleships
They weren't removed, but now you get the benefits you used to get with the gun upgrade with the hull upgrade instead. If you look at some ships (Myougi, Kongou..) you will see your artillery rating will increase if you mount an upgraded hull. And BBs are definitely not at the bottom of the food chain! -
Any chance for US vs Japan Game Mode? (Axis vs Allies)
Takeda92 replied to Cydone's topic in General Discussion
With the way WG like to twist nations in favor of national particularities.. no way this will work. Unless you don't mind auto-wins just by playing US ships! -
Why did you have to mention CAVs, now I'm depressed too :C
-
Yeah, more like Anzu.. but tan XD Btw, aww.. see how she's opening her arms for a hug :3
