Well look at it this way, at high tiers US DDs gets the guns, the torps, the same stealth and now even the AA.. IJN DDs only gets the torps and those are spotted further than the American ones so they are even easier to dodge. US DDs even get better smoke! In US DDs, at least you can do something like kill some planes or another destroyer.. What you say is right though. USN or IJN, destroyers are the least competitive class in the game right now. I can not see them being used in clan battles or e-sport other than some lowers for cap maybe.. like T1 cunninghams in WoT!

I remember a time back in when the game was still in alpha, or even before that.. people would ask devs how would small and weak ships like destroyers would fare against the bigger cruisers and battleships. Devs assured us that destroyers will be competitive. I don't see that now.. I don't see destroyers being played in clan wars, in ranked battles, in e-sports! At best they would be those T1 cunninghams that you use in WoT teambattles to do the scouting.. in this case to cap a base or something. That's about it! -
Well until then: if you are facing cruisers and got burned, destroyers or an air attack, use it. If you are engaging battleships, don't! Part of me believe that this ability is kind of OP on high tiers, where a battleship already has twice the HP of a cruiser and three time of a destroyer.. not only that but they get the the only source of real damage you can get is from other battleships anyway.

The buff to Furutaka is the only reward I want. IMO after playing it on the test server it still sin't a keeper compared to Aoba but it would be way more comfortable to play. But I still see people opening threads about her since she is still not an easy ship to play and does require some amount of skill to be played effectively.

You're joking right? DD kill a BB? at what, tier 3 and 4? tier 6 and up, it's BBs that can kill DD and CAs very easily. one salvo of 410mm AP can even one-shot a destroyer. If fact, out of all the rock-paper-scissors cycle, everything that counters BBs is being nerfed, while BB can easily counter DDs at higher tiers. That fact that you can kill DDs so easily, an how easy it is to evade torps, it made me feel so filthy playing battleship in the test server. I busted my self grindig the IJN DD line during CBT, if only I knew how easy battleships had it after tier 6 (and the fact I had double of the average damage in Fusou than my tier 8 Fubuki). CloackingDonkey hit the spot.. people use Kawachi or Colorado as a proof that BBs suck, or look at the newb BB player at low tiers. I can't count how many times I screamed while spectating a BB for him to turn towards the plane coming. But he just keep sailing straight and then whine that he can't avoid the torps! -

Do you happen to know anything about that torpedo reload buff for Mutsuki that never happened in 4.1 test server? I find it strange that they would nerf the detection of the worse DD in the game yet they hold out of a buff that they mentioned. Since supertesters have better communication with WG (r should I say, the only communication) could you ask around what's with WG and this poor little DD? -

They hit because the target keep sailing in a straight line. everyone who plays DDs at high tiers will have to watch how a big slow turd battleship evade their torps right in between the middle of the salvo and you have to wait 2 minutes waiting for your next reload that will also be avoided the same. It's because of cryers and whiners like the OP destroyers are keep getting nerfed, just like they did in 4.1 with the global rudder shifts buffs. Becayse evading torps wasn't so easy already! -

Langley is better carrier than Houshou. All you have to do is target his fighters twice and then he's left defenseless. your fighters are so superior he can't do anything about it.

2 IJN TBs and 2 DBs equal 1 USN TB and 1 DB. You are comparing Hiryuu's balanced loadout with Ranger's stock loadout which outnumbers its planes, so of course it looks bad. Your 2/0/2 can easily defeats the Hiryuu 2/2/2

In 4.1 Hiryuu no longer gets 0/3/3 loadout but a 2/2/2 and 3/1/2

IJN DDs torps tier 6+ have 12 seconds reaction times. If Amagi has 6 seconds to turn, this means you can easily avoid all torps way before they are even near you. and the extra time let's thread between the torps with ease. IJN torps need a serious buff to their detection. Long Lance was an invisible torp, yet in the game it is has the worse detection of all torps. They should buff the reaction time to 7 seconds to compensate for these stupidly short rudder shifts. And WTH with that Mutsuki nerf? Worse DD in the game, let's nerf it while give it small turret traverse buff. Because it obviously helped when you did it the first time and had to revert it back! -

Wargaming should pay you to do their patch notes.. yet they don't even give you enough recognition. This is way better than Jingles 4.1 video. All he did was talking about battleships and how much poor babies they are. -
I don't even see destroyers being used in ranked battles. It would be a carrier, 2 battleships and cruisers. the carriers won't do anything because just one vs another carrier an AA cruisers won't do any harm, and the battleships will just end up citadeling cruisers. In the end it is BB vs BB mode.

If this was a carrier or a destroyer, people would scream "OP, nerf!' But I guess AI controlled secondaries are fine

In the PT server though, I ran into the issue of not doing citadels, especially on medium-short ranges. I tried on Fusous and Baltimore. I ran into the same problem in Fusou too. I don't know if they changed anything with citadel hits. However I found Nagato to be extremely effective against DDs. One time I two shots a Hatsuharu with 2 HE salvos.. and another time killed another DD that had 7k hp left with one salvo of AP! It's seems DDs are not counter to BBs, it's the other way around. Poor DDs, nerfed so much by BB players so much that even rock can beat paper now!

I played Nagato and damn she's so much fun. I couldn't believe how much damage the shell do compared to the 356mm. and those secondaries!

I just hope devs don't use this "get this rare item for kai ni" trend too often. Getting blueprints is already long/hard enough!
