IJN DDs are just one trick pony, you throw away torps hoping the enemy is a tunnel-visioner. You can play it as s support ship with using your guns to burn targets that are not aiming at you, or hunt down DDs either in a pack with your friendly DDs and cruisers or kill other low health DDs, but as an anti-BB torpedo boat.. it won't work. You can try as hard as you want, you will never achieve the same level as other classes, you will never influence a match with your skill (unless you stealth cap) because in the end, DDs rely mostly on what your enemy will do. WG doesn't seem like they want destroyers to be a competitive class. Btw, in CBT I played Fubuki with the 10km torps. With equipment you get 6.3km detection range which is not that worse than that of a 0.4.1 Minekaze and Mutsuki. I can't help you with how to improve your winrate since DDs are not game winners (unless, like I said, you cap). Your avergae xp seems fine. Average damage is not that far behind. Don't expect more than 40k average damage at best. In CBT I had 34k in Fubuki and 60k in Fuso and 48k in 203mm Mogami! You can improve your damage if you rely on your fire damage, that's why I suggested you play as support. For your torp hit ratio, don't spam torps at max range, they are each 250 and a salvo cost 2250 credits, it is not worth it. I also noticed you have high aircraft destroyed ratio, almost 1 plane per match.. are you disabling your AA?

This has been bugging me for a while, comparing the stock torpedoes of Minekaze's vs that's of Mutsuki's: Minekaze: 533 mm, 14400 damage, 7 km range, 68 kts speed, 1.3 RoF Mutsuki: 610 mm, 14600 damage, 6 km range, 63 kts speed, 0.6 RoF So you go up tier, you read that you know have the famous Type 93 torpedo (even if just by name) and you find that you have to play stock with worse torpedoes than your previous ship, that only had 533 mm "inferior" torpedoes, but stat wise, only 200 less damage for 1 km longer, 5 kts faster, and much faster reload. A stock Mutsuki is worse than a Stock Minekaze! Wouldn't be logical if some of these stats were inverted? It would make much more sense if Mutsuki would get the 7km and 68kts torps to compensate for the slower reload while Minekaze, a tier lower mind you, would get the 63kts speed and she could spam those more often (don't forget Minekaze has same main guns as Mutsuki as stock, better as upgraded). Now as for the 6 km range, I don't see why there's such a range on an IJN DD that are supposed to have torpedo range longer than detection range as a gimmick. Having only 0.1 km safe zone is just terrible for torps that only go 63 kts. Even for 68kts it's not that impressive. Minakaze's torps are detected at 1.6km while Mutsuki's at 2.0km. This gives 9 seconds to react to Minekaze while 12.2 seconds (the biggest of all torpedoes) to react to Mutsuki. So what I propose is make Minekaze's torps 7 km, 63 kts while Mutsuki's 7 km, 68 kts. It would make much more sense that Type 93 would get faster speed than an older 533 mm torpedo. Even the fastest type 93 torpedo goes only 67 kts and that's on Shimekaze (with its ahistorical biggest acquisition range of all torpedoes in game of 2 km!) This change should also affect Furutaka since her torpedoes are the same as Mutsuki's stock torpedoes. I know this change would mean a nerf for Minekaze. It would have worked great before the RoF nerf Minekze got in 0.3.1. However I feel it's a mistake that shouldn't happen in the first place and it could be compensated for Minekaze by giving a few extra seconds reload back.

Got a screenshot? I'm pretty sure I checked and it was 45 seconds on the test server!

Devs don't care about EU server feedback.. actually they don't care about any feedback!

What about crouching?

I assume he means this? This was a bug way back when CBT first started. It was gone when I played around with my graphic settings so maybe try that. Speaking of neon light and futuristic Tenryuu, that sound like her in Kancolle
-
Speaking of planes, here's what it looks like for a fairy perspective. That Kaga pic though XD
-
I just can't get what's with the devs and Mutsuki.. why they hate her so much? I played her and she's pretty much the same boring ship I played from CBT, and I played up to Fubuki in CBT and Mutsuki was the worst ship I played with. It absolutely can't influence a battle with those slow-reloading and slow-travelling torps. Not only she gets a nerf to her concealment but the devs completely screw her over by not giving her the promised reload buff? I mean you nerf the detection of the worst destroyer in the game and compensate by a slightly better turret rotation for the 2 poor guns she has? If WG claim they balance by stats, show me which stats that tells them that this ship is fun to play.

The manual aim of torps seem to have back to normal. I guess devs gave upon the idea of torps arming on the triangle edge now? From what little I played of carriers, IJN carriers seems to be a lot more fun now, especially the fighters deck. Well I had all the commander upgrades and I was running in Hiryuu with 5x3 fighters and pretty much annihilating any planes with ease, but strike capability was very poor as expected so US carrier players shouldn't be complaining about being obsolete. Strangely enough I never won any of the battles because fighter decks just cannot influence the tide of battle. Battleships remain the ruler of high tiers after all. One thing I found however is Houshou is now very underpowered compared to Langley, with Mirror matchmaking, matching the two is almost an easy win for Langley because all he has to do is kill the Houhou fighters twice and he will have a field day with the bombers, while the Houshou bombers are much better than Langleys, so I hope devs fix that before 4.1 (I know they won't, WG doesn't do fixing!)
-
Regarding the torps arming when the triangle starts, they seem to have removed that on the second PT server. I played a couple of games today and manual drop is back to normal.

I use both.. Maya Kai ni seems to trigger her cut in more often and she has better AA rating. However I'm sick of E-6. I got the boss on last kill and after that couldn't reach him once. There's always this one ship hat goes red before I even get there and in the end I ran out of fuel. I'll stockpile some more and go back again.

Yeah, you make USN destroyers counter IJN destroyers than can't even move their turrets and then you put them up in a battle together? sounds like a good way to satisfy the ego of the majority of NA players!
-
I think there was a comment that Tirpitz won't be there!
-
As long as you don't read any comments, or you don't comment yourself. But yes, it is strangely toxic for such a non-competitive game!
-
Another thing I want to add is, their stats tell them nothing about if a class or ship is fun to play or not.
-
No wonder the game balance is crap.. when we have a balancing team who thinks like that! Please tell me more how hitting torpedoes at long range is skill? unless you mean the skill of the target because all the guy has to do is turn and they will all miss!

here are the changes.. also googly translated http://forum.worldofwarships.ru/index.php?/topic/28036-%D0%BE%D0%B1%D1%89%D0%B8%D0%B9-%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82-%D0%B2%D0%B5%D1%80%D1%81%D0%B8%D0%B8-041-%D0%B2%D1%82%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B9-%D1%8D%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BF/

It does not get better at tier 9. Kagerou is the seconds worse IJN DD after Mutsuki!

Funny you mention Mogami since in the game she doesn't carry it. See,s to me devs are still inaccurate after all -
IMPORTANT! Game physics and distances displayed ingame

Your ship also turns much quicker than IRL thanks to this system.. so why are you complaining about torps? -
Hatsuharu gun turrets - getting destroyed very often
Takeda92 replied to Takru's topic in Destroyers
All DDs get very fragile guns that gets destroyed easily. It's the same at high tiers for both nations. Turret destruction is one of the worst mechanics in the game and contribute nothing to the gameplay experience other than being frustrating. -
Problems with IJN DDs and possible fixes
Takeda92 replied to Blobskillz's topic in General Discussion
At high tiers IJN DDs are like Kitakami.. one trick pony and not very good at it anyway. They only get torps as weapons, their selling point is "long range" but in fact you never hit anything with them. Unlike USN DDs they don't improve their guns since tier 7.. they don't improve their AA unlike the new AA specialty that USN DDs will get, they lose the unique trait of torping from outside their detection because USN DDs can do it too. Shimakaze and Gearing also have the same detection range. USN DDs even get better smoke. IJN DDs have to share their torpedo advantage while being at gun/AA/smoke disadvantage. Kagerou suffers the most of all these ships. -
I had my problems too. I used my best ships adn best equipment and still couldn't do it. In the end I did. Use a support fleet of 2 BB 2 CV 2 DD.. you need it. Also if pre boss nodes are giving you a problem then go the night battle nodes route, it's much easier.

I'll leave this here. True words XD
