Reading this thread made me realize that WG makes bad decisions in balancing, makes the community fight over it even though they all share the same frustration, then game goes live without fixing and we have to live with WG's bad decisions. -
you are right and wrong right that every line has free-xp sink (look at Izumo at tier 9 just before Yamato. The free xp is strong in this one) wrong on the ships. Mutsuki is the most terrible grind in the line. Hatsuharu and especially Fubuki are much more enjoyable especially if the line is right for you.

Idk about that. It's definitely a lot easier to play and achieve in for new and less skilled players. Many US ships don't have any weakness at all, while strength that makes it easier for the player without him doing anything (AA). sort of same in WoT that's why it is favorite by many players. IJN line has many draw backs that you have to keep in mind and play to minimize them while trying to maximizing your strengths, the amount of skill needed definitely is larger for IJN ships especially for cruiser and carrier lines, less obvious in battleship and destroyer lines. I'd say only US destroyers require a high set of skills compared to other US lines since destroyer are usually the hardest class to play since it's a very high risk high reward dependent. -

Speaking of Cleveland, devs mention they think it was unfair that good players were too good on IJN CVs so they nerfed them, why not do anything to Cleveland even though everyone says it's way too OP for tier 6? They say they listen to community. Everyone I heard said that Izumo's problem was its armor so why buff the secondaries and the turret traverse? Where's the logic in that? Similar complaints were said about Furutaka but we see nothing done about it. Not to mention Mutsuki complaints ever since CBT started. Yet WG did nothing so far except some changes that concerned the entire line which did not fix her problem. -
But Tuccy, how can I look at the Iwaki if I don't have it? My point is, ishizuchi and BC Kongou and even Myogi are similar on many aspects. However on tier 4 we have 2 paperships while Kongou could fit there as well. It's fine if she will get there eventually. Paper designs are interesting and fit being premiums very well. But if there's a chance for a real ship that wont come to regular tree because there's no place for it then I'd rather it becomes a premium, not a paper design.

Exactly. I mean Essex have 2 TB squads that can hit 4 out of 6 each, that's 8 hits. Taihi has 4 squads which maximum can hit 2 out of 4 each so that's 8 as well. Essex have 3 DB 6 (18) each with almost double the damage while Taiho have 3 DBs with 4 each (that's 12) with pathetic damage. And now Taihio only does 8567 damage per torp while Essex have what, 9-10k per torps? while still having the better planes and better AA? pathetic! -
The chance of us getting Bismarck for free is the same as WG listening to our feedback (except whiners) which is zero But yeah, Bismarck is going to be the money sink of wows. Imagine people who would play the game just for this ship, you know.. like those tomato Lowes in WoT (but even worse) I wonder if Bismarck will be limited time only like most of the premium we have now though!

I still don't know why we didn't get a real ship like The BC Kongou as a premium instead of a paper design. So far Ishizuchi is the first paper premium we got. Not anything wrong with papers, but we would be more excited for real ships.

Because the game is so much damage oriented that's why USN CVs feel they are under achieving, because their strongest point is not doing damage. That's why WG are balancing the wrong stuff. You don't fix it by nerfing IJN and buff USN damage, you fix it by changing carrier gameplay in a away that gives you xp and fun without having to rely heavily on dealing damage. It's something WG failed to do in the game and not just for carriers. So here's the question, if USN CVs are now allowed to do the same damage as IJN, then why not buff IJN CVs in other ways (fighters, plane durability..etc)? They completely taken out the flavor of IJN being a strike carrier-oreiented not to mention all progress is meaningless because your damage per bomb/torp doesn't change and your fighters are always inferior to even lower tier USN carriers. -

But now they can go fighters and still do damage with their buffed DBs, or go strike and enjoy the buffs for both TBs and DBs, all while they have very durable squads and auto protection from any air attack thanks to ridiculously high AA. -

So after this patch, IJN CVs have: -worse fighters -worse torpedo bombers -worse dive bombers -worse spread -worse squad health -worse plane durability -worse AA defense -worse carrier durability -more micromanagement -faster plane preparation only because of higher squad numbers -only real stealth and maneuverability advantage US CVs can now deal better damage while still having the fighters to denies IJN CVs the damage, not to mention they are way simpler to play and come with automatic defense against aircrafts. If WG indeed listens like they and the supertests say, then why didn't they listen when everyone told them that IJN fighters need a buff to make them usable? But all I see is they listen to the "people think IJN carriers are OP" feedback that is sent to them and all the other feedback is lost because not many are demanding it. if you buff US CVs attack potential and AA potential patch after patch why not improve the IJN fighters to compensate for the reduced damage capabilities? almost all IJN carriers now have the same torpedo and bomb damage from tier 4 to 10, while USN only gets improvement for not only the carrier itself, but the planes, armament and effectiveness. Some carriers don't even get increased in torp bombers in some tiers, 3 from t4-t7 and 4 from t3-t10, only slight increase on some plane soft stats. Instead of making fighters gameplay interesting and rewarding, you're focusing more and more on damage and IJN CVs are suffering because of it, all because terrible balance decisions. -

Yes buff the damage on Uas CVs to be on par or even more than IJN CVs but dont buff IJN fighters because you all gave carriers to the best players only. This is what I feared and I was right. WG once again how awful at balancing they and how they listen to whiners. Why cleveland wasn't nerfed? Why some IJN dds got buffed? Because WG showed us they don't listen to community, just the whiners. Keep up the terrible work! -
Broken links It took me a year of playing until I finally got my Shoukaku last event. Some ships are so rare we don't even appreciate having them so early!

you even have devs and mods who likes kancolle and cosplay as kanmusu... however, truth to be told, I don't know if I can keep up with such a fast growing thread How about star wars kanmusu? here's death star-chan I would love to see Star destroyer kanmusu.. my favorites are Victory-class and Venator-class.

I doubt WG will change their game at this stage of development. However it could bea nice idea for that other war game that wants to add in naval forces Btw, made my sig just for these torps topics!

Since we don't have any info on how much ammunition costs in WOWS, I was getting curious with my money making in my tier 8 ships, Fubuki and Mogami. So I ran some tests were I shot only 1 ammunition type (HE, AP, or torp only) to figure out how much each cost. -A 203mm HE and AP shell costs the same on Mogami with 24 credit per shell. -A Fubuki torpedo cost 250 credits, AP/HE costs 10 credits per shell -Repair cost for sinking for both ships is about 80k for each ship. -Secondary fire, AA and scout planes do not cost credits. On my average scores on both ships, I have 50k average damage on Mogami and 34k on Fubuki. My ammo costs on the tests I did was 6-7k for 250-280 shots fired on Mogami and about 18k for 75 torpedo fired from Fubuki. As you can see, even on tier 8, a good/average game on Mogami will earn you nice money if you don't take much hits, the ammunition is fairly cheap and doing damage (thus earning money) is relatively easy. On Fubuki however, it's a rather expensive ship. Damage is inconsistent and efficiency is rather poor. You have to pay so much ammunition to get decent amount of damage if you managed to do any at all if you want to use torpedoes. Now here's the thing, you can actually do better relying on your guns rather than your torpedoes. Guns do nice burning damage and are good against destroyers. Killing destroyers from full health yields much more xp and credits than just doing damage to BBs (I'll show you in the screenshots). I advise people to start using their guns more when playing IJN DDs from tier 7 and up, not like you do in an American DD but find sneaky ways to deliver those shots, either to a preoccupied BB or hunting DD that are going in a straight line by using torps for distraction and your superior stealth. I also implore WG to look at these two destroyers, Mutsuki and Kagerou, especially the former. Their horrible gun stats don't make for their torpedo armament. Mutsuki has the most terrible guns for mediocre torpedoes, while Kagerou sacrificed so much for torpedo range that is even outside her render distance. Kagerou needs her turrets to rotate as fast as Fubuki and Shimakaze if she is to use her guns any effectively as her sister ships. The torpedoes alone just won't do it. I realize WG probably have all the data they need regarding money making for each ship, but we don't. That's why I think we should figure it out for ourselves. I wonder if others could provide us with the same data on other tier 8 ships (I don't have them all) to see how each fair. Are they cheap or expensive? screen shots: Mogami: Fubuki:
