Who was the "wise" guy that made the new upgrades in the last patch?
Kittykami replied to Anthoniusii's topic in Archive
Very much doubt that a load of useless range is going to change the fact that Amagi significantly outperforms NC statistically. -
Hi :3 I'm trying to remember what I have on there since I haven't been able to log into the game for a week or so (unlucky lightning strike... Don't ask) so apologies in advance if I recall any of these incorrectly. Modules are the standard BB fare for tier VI - Main battery survivability, accuracy, reduced chance of fire + flood and rudder shift. Captain skills are Basic Firing Training, Basic Survivability, Expert Marksman, Superintendent, AFT. For the fifth one I might try Jack of all Trades or the secondary one but I'm not there yet. Generaly I start the battle by heading for a choke point or some islands. In the absence of that, run straight for a cap assuming you have cover from friendlies. Don't open fire on the first thing you see - wait until the enemy BBs have been spotted so you know what you're up against and you don't catch a hail of IJN BB shells in the side from some unspotted Fusou or something. Then it's all about using your accuracy to punish anyone showing too much side (or in the case of cruisers just sailing for too long in the same direction). Don't forget to use your spotting plane wherever you can. Use the ship's turn rate to help your turrets onto targets and as soon as you fire, turn away again to throw off incoming fire. Run the secondary flag if you have any to help in brawls and keep tacking back and forth like a sailboat if you have to go bow-on to another BB - really tends to throw off shots in my experience. DO NOT 1v1 higher tier BBs. Any of them can smash you frontally. Instead try to play passive and sneak up on them. Hold fire until they're distracted and give you side shots. I've ruined tier VIII BBs just by wearing them down with sneaky hits, then juking their return fire. I guess the best thing you can master in Warspite is to shoot very, very well to make the best use of her tight shell spreads, but limited number of shells. Unlike shotgun mode New Mex and Fusou, if you aim badly you won't hit a damn thing - kind of like Nagato really. Hope this makes sense!

From my own personal experience, (I dare say I have an above average number of games played in Warspite, since I bought her the day the game went into OBT), the ship is fine. Main battery accuracy is very nice and the detection range allows you to close range on enemy BBs who outrange you if you're careful. Not to mention the outstanding turn rate which makes DDs and CVs' jobs a nightmare when facing you. If if a mediocre BB player like me can do decently in it, then I suggest the only buff required is in your own playstyle.

Front bow of ship should be capable of ramming without too much damage to self ?
Kittykami replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in General Discussion
Maybe some of the low tier ships that were actually fitted with ram bows could get a percentage damage reduction when ramming or something? -
*Blushes* T-thanks! Compared with OP and plenty of other forum goers, as well as a lot of the friends I play with, I'm fairly mediocre though. I bet a lot of people here could still pull in descent profit while running full premium, especially on premium ships. Try it it on your Warspite next time you take her out :3

I run premium consumables on absolutely everything and never struggle to make money, even with my intensely mediocre skill level. More than worth it in my opinion, but I did win a year of premium by watching a WG livestream on Twitch, so the extra credit income is likely skewing my viewpoint.

No changes to IJN DDs then? Had my fingers crossed for some gun buffs for them this patch. AA buffs sound scary as hell, guess I better practice cross dropping from max range...

DDs are probably the best bet for some fun in the current meta. That said, Iowa is getting some buffs next patch, so keep her in mind.

[New Gameplay Mechanics Suggesstion] Manually lock turret
Kittykami replied to Annihilator_X01's topic in General Discussion
I've been suggesting things like this since back in beta weekend over on NA. Think WG just don't see it as important. -
It'll probably be terrible but I'm getting one because obsessive ship autism. Also my Iowa needs someone to bully in port :^)

Let's talk about Battleships and their current state right now in the game.
Kittykami replied to anonym_gCiyicUsNYGl's topic in Archive
Leaving aside statistical performance, BBs really aren't much fun in the current meta at high tiers. -
What is determining a “good player?” (he/she)
Kittykami replied to Ferry_25's topic in General Discussion
Good in all the classes isn't essential, hence why it went in the BONUS POINTS section :3 I do think it helps to have a decent understanding of all the classes in the game though, if you want to know how to counter them better when you're playing something else. -

MAIN POINTS - Good average damage - Good win rate BONUS POINTS - Decent stats in all of the classes and tiers. - Not a toxic nobber. -
I only got my Yamato on Friday so you can take what I write with a pinch of salt - but I'd say Yamato plays very much like Nagato - fantastic accuracy, great penetration, amazing armour when angled, God-tier secondaries and a total bully when facing lower or even equal tier BBs. Don't forget that your guns have amazing penetration even at long range, so don't be shy about shooting at bow-on Nor Cars or Iowas. They'll be rather surprised when you citadel them in the front. Other than that, high tier BB play is all about knowing when you can push and when you have to sit back lobbing shells and praying for hits. The positioning of DDs both friendly and enemy is the most important factor in the current meta.

One piece of advice for prospective IJN BB captains - beware the stock hull...

Reminds me of that 'VIOLET STETPEDDER KEMP BUSH' guy from that one Jingles video.

In a battle tonight, a New Orleans sailed side on to me (in an Izumo) and died in three salvoes. He was lucky to last that long, but he started raging in chat about how BBs are OP. Immediately afterwards, a Myokou successfully kited me across the map and almost killed me from 1/3 health with fires (all my repairs were depleted) while I was trying to stagger my shots to compensate for his manoeuvring. Only the intervention of our Lexington saved me before I could burn out. I doubt the second captain will be calling BBs OP any time soon. Perhaps you should try grinding to a high tier BB to see just what an unending barrel of laughs they are right now?

When world of warships becomes Touhou - torpedo dodging simulator. -
Wait... wat? I absolutely love it so far and I'm hardly some godlike player - far from it in fact. Granted I've only played four battles, but my average damage in it is 20k higher than in the Karls.

Tier II shoots to low Earth orbit and back before the shells land. Decent speed though. Tier III is St Louis with less HP and less armour. Tier IV is best summed up by this image: That's as far as I've gotten :3
-
It would be fun I think, though they'd have to wait until more nations had a full tech tree. Wouldn't be much fun facing a full IJN high tier team though...
-
The mind boggles at how you've played over two thousand games without learning a damn thing about one of the game's main classes. There are only four of them for crying out loud >_<.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Kittykami replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Thanks :3 I tried to make up for our team's lack of caps by knocking your BBs out but sadly (for me) the Atago died before the Colorado could flood out and drop the points tally. I did see you in the smoke briefly, intercepting some of my unarmed torps
