CVs need balancing here is my suggestion!
Pikkozoikum replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
No. The number of different ships does influence the winrate. When you have only one ship, like Bismarck, the Bismarck would only fight against herself, doesn't matter how many players we have or not. 10,000,000 matches and 10,000 players of 12 Bismarcks vs 12 Bismarcks would end up with 50% WR. Every match 12 Bismarcks win, 12 Bismarcks loses. Then you add another ship, and the winrate will slightly differ, depending on how it matches. But in a Case of 12 Bismarck vs 12 New ships, we would get 12 wins for Bismarck and no loses. Though only with two different ships, we might archieve a 50% close WR. Otherwise, do your math and proof it. -
CVs need balancing here is my suggestion!

You mean the WR of reworked CVs is better than the old_CVs like a WR increase? The Winrate doesn't matter, because you mostly got only 1vs1 and you have only 2 different old_CVs, so they balance their own statistic out. Less different ship means, that you have to play more often against the same ship. I make an example, a pure hypothesis. Imagine, the old_Midway would be brokenly op in a way, that it is impossible to lose. That means 100% winrate, even with a potato play her. Of course everyone would play old_Midway then, but in our case we say, she get played 50%, and old_Haku get also played 50% In 100 games the old_Midway get 50 times matches against another old_Midway and 50 times against old_Haku So the broken old_Midway wins 100% of the matches against old_Haku. But then, against old_Midway she wins and loses, that means we end up with 50+50 wins and 50 loses = 100 to 50. That is a 66% WR. Now the Rework is out. But Midway is still brokenly OP and wins 100% of all matches, thus balancing and impact wise nothing changed. But what changed is, that the Audacious get implemented. Of our 100 games, we get 40 games against Midway, 40 games against Haku and 20 games against the new CV Audacious. Midway wins against Haku and Audacious, 60 wins, and wins and loses against herself 40 times. We get now 100 wins to 40 loses. The WR now is 71%. You can see, that the WR differs just by the fact of additional ships, even if they wouldn't change anything in balancing or stats-wise, only by adding a new CV. -
Tier 8 and Up Italians; waste of time or worth it?
Pikkozoikum replied to FiscallyIrresponsible's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, I played the higher tiers and they all felt good -

I think CV should be removed (or rebalanced) - the whole community is complaining about the current state
Pikkozoikum replied to anonym_mUbHU0hZb1bv's topic in General Discussion
Also they were actually designed for doing a lot dmg previously, if you remember the emblem archievments. The CV needed most average dmg of 100 games :D But the damage got nerfed, like the flooding change, which is good, that it changed -

Funny, that you see the old CVs above some surface ships and the reworked CVs -

It's not -
I'm used to the IJN design mentality: Tons of disadvantage and somewhere one good feature. Please don't make it that expensive My suggestion would be to reduce the concealment slightly (buff) and make it way cheaper, 1 Mil to 1.5 Mil. EDIT:

Do you have the replay? I don't mind nerfes, as long it's balancing correctly. I also said in the past, that I refused to play the Hakuryu until she gets nerfed (you remember the first month of the rework?) I even made suggestions, which technically would nerf the CV, but still make the CV more complex and more fun. My suggestion would also made the DD to the CV counter in some aspect. So you assume here something totally wrong. I'm also an alrounder and play every ship class. Right now I'm regrinding the IJN BBs, I play often Asashio, Kii, Yoshino, Venezia. Then I regrinded lately Ibuki to Zao. -

I guess more people would enjoy the game, if they only have victims as enemies ;D It's generally the case, that people are bothered by counters or better players. Just go with any ego shooter, where a normal weapon-guy get killed by sniper. Guess there are enough people, who would say, that sniper has to be removed :D I mean, I would enjoy the game more as BB or cruiser, if there wouldn't be any DDs^^ -

Sounds more like you were unlucky. What I wrote just reflects the general matches, that I experiencened the last year over. I don't know, how you played, but it sounds like, that you were in the worse position. If the match is always over, the CV is superior on high distance. You also have to consider, that CV works with different mechanics. Multiple ships add more AA dps, even if they don't focus on the CV. So it is strength in numbers. Other ships are not effected like that. I don't think, that it would be better with the RTS version, he sould be able to one shot you or perma flood you. Maybe you have a replay? -

Pikkozoikum replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
I just check now and then the damage taken and I cant remember, that a CV ever did the most damage ^^ I mean, that can happen of course, but mostly not because they have so much damage. It's more the situation then, where no other ship is doing damage because of bad aim or what's so ever. That is only player skill and situation depending. But the point is, a CV very rarely nukes me. How relevant is it, how much dmg he does? How often are you playing against him? :D I can't remember, that I ever played against a super unicum, and if so, he also has to go for me. A CV cant go for 12 targets and sink them all. So it's pretty unlikely 1) AA works now different, than before, you can't go with "I have an AA ship, so I'm immune to enemy planes" They removed the extremes. Beside that, you Ship didn't shot a single plane? Was your AA ship Asashio? :P As soon as you shot down planes, the CV loses potential dmg. 10 planes do less dmg than 12. and if you shot down so many, that the CV has to recall after the first strike, then he does even less dmg and has to go with a new squad for you. 2) So you couldnt align with torps, or angle against bombs to reduce or avoide dmg? Rockets are tricky, but turning around can also mess up the aim of the cv player, also depending on the ship you play 3) Dunno, I can react to planes, or I'm in a ship, where it doesn't matter much. Maybe your positioning was just bad or whats so over, I can only guess there. 4) Maybe you should show the replay ;) You can mitigate the dmg of a bb in the same way like you can mitigate the dmg of a CV. If you say, you can't mitigate CVs, then I would say, you can'T mitigate it against a BB. Angling, turning, everything won't work, because they still can hurt you. It's only the aim and rng of the BB. Just like some claim it's only the CV player and RNG who decides. But I say, you can try to mitigate the dmg, no matter which ship type. Won't work always, but that doesn't mean, you shouldn't try it. And as I tryed to explain, it's often so, that smaller dmg numbers occur more often, then high dmg numbers. So a CV with small dmg amounts will generally hit you more often ,than high dmg numbers of the BB. but overall the total dmg is same. I know what you mean, but imo, it's now better, than with the RTS. Because I can play more against a single squad, than against 5 Squads, that cross drop and perma flood me with no counterplay. I can angle and turn in against a single squad. But I can't do that against 5 squads. RTS times I totally rely on Teammates with good AA or on my CV. Now there is not super no fly zone AA ship, that is needed for protection, it's enough to group with average AA ships. I see the new gameplay in two phases. Phase one is mitigating the first strike as good as possible. If you take a torp hit, well, that mostly doesn't kill you, it's more like taking one or two BB pens, which often can't be mititageted either. Phase two is about stacking AA to deny following strikes. If both works well, the enemy CV does 0 to minimum dmg. I won't work always good, that depends on RNG and Skill of the players. But that's the same with every ship. Sometimes you angle with your minotaur, you try to dodge, and than you get one shottet by a BB with all your "counterplay" options ;) Though a statistic about, what casues most dmg, would be interesting, though it have to be normalized to single ship dmg somehow, because there exist more BBs than CVs -

...and that's simply not true. They have greater survivabitly, but not when you go into melee brawl against BBs... As it says, the central part has more armor and they also have a good heal, that adds survivbility, but doesn't mean, that it is a melee brawler ship. I dont play this ships, but I would assume, that you still try to stay on high range against BBs -

Hmm, though we just have to wait, if people think there is no counterplay, we jsut have to wait for submarines. They should be able to win a 1vs1 against a CV :D -
CVs need balancing here is my suggestion!
Pikkozoikum replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
Well, let me rephrase it. a single surface ships deals mostly more dmg, than a single CV, if I fight both. I go here also with personal expierence, that means most players are of course bad, but that counts for the enemy surface ship, and also for the enemy CV. If there is a real good CV player nuking me, (what never happend only in the 1vs1 brawl, and they lost always), than he will do of course more dmg than most, but same counts for the surface ship player. I never did in my life 15k with rockets, though I play only IJN. Mino is squishy and you can get one shotted by a BB even while sitting in a smoke. I dont think a CV will hit you in smoke that well :D Also I rarely los 25-30%, I can remember only one time in ranked, when I played shima and got a huge it, which was around that number. But then I survived and won :) Bigger hits can happen, of course, but other ships can do also big hits. And you also have to se the relation. A BB should do less often the big hits, than a CV, because a CV can only do 20k-25k max hits, but a BB could do 100% hp of any ship. I got once one shotted by a BB 66,6k dmg. those have to more rare, than the CV hits ovioulsy. Same with torpedos of DDs, they have to hit less, because they do a lot dmg. If they would always hit, they were just too op. The only thing, that should change imo is the spotting and dmging in combination, but I did a while ago a suggestion about recon planes. I played lately Fuso and Nagato and CVs are never a problem, they did little dmg. They 're like a support class, supporting the team with additional dmg -

Pikkozoikum replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
So what? You just said "shooting 5 planes down" not which ship type. From the quotes and context, it wasn't clear, that you talked only about DDs. I just came up with an AA weak ship, and there are many stronger ones on that Tier. Well, he dictates the engagement of his squads against other ships, but if this is an advantage is questionable. Also different ship types have different advantages. BBs have huge alpha strike potential, what can be also a massive advantage ;) Individual Counterplay is to avoide the first stroke by smart moves and defence consumables. Grouping and stacking AA is a team-based counterplay which denies following strikes after the first strike. That can also deny 100% dmg. Before the rework, the only "Counterplay" was relying on AA heavy-noflyzone ships or the other CV. It might not be perfect now, but it's better -

Pikkozoikum replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, yes, there is no difference, if there is smart grouping, or single yolo action... AA also doesn't stack. It's weird, that people have such difference experience. When I play a surface ship, the most dmg comes from other surface ships... but on this forum it sounds like a CV is one shotting everything xD You might picked the wrong word. If a 4k dmg torp hits me in a BB, then it's not nuking :D -

Could say the same about DDs vs BBs. Why is patience relevant for the BB in order to not get spotted and torped by DDs? That's just how this game works ;) Same for Crusiers vs BBs -

Pikkozoikum replied to DeadbyDefault_35's topic in General Discussion
My Nagato shots more planes down :D But also it depends on CV players, if they go for someone or not ... ^^ The problem with the balancing question is: Balancing in what way? Teamwise? 1vs1-wise? This game has to many factors, as that we could talk about real balance. We don't have 1vs1 duels, nor do we have fair teams with all the different ships. Is a team with 0 Radars and 2 dds balanced vs 4 radar ships and 2 dds? That happens :D So the question is, about what kind of Balance are we talking? -
submarines SUBMARINES - discussion, feedback, opinions
Pikkozoikum replied to WG_Lumberjack's topic in General Discussion
You mean like all the coffin and nails before? HE, Radar, DW Torps etc? I guess you just don't like submarines, but this is normal, not everyone will like them, just like not everyone likes DDs or Cruisers or BBs. Some people might leave, others will join. Implementing Submarines isnt a failure from the beginning, other games have submarines and they worked well, why should this game fail then? -

Pikkozoikum replied to Ronchabale's topic in General Discussion
would be a good bait then, to waste enemy CVs time. So you have to sit around some mates, using smoke against rocket planes etc. He will archieve nothing, while your CV might be more successful. And if he lost all rockets planes and loses interest, then you can go for the cap. Or depending on your DD; use long range torps and gun fire while in smoke -
I think the armor is totally okay for IJN standards, like you say, the guns are trolling. Because of the low sigma, guess it was 1.7
-
I did that once early in a CB, dropped the torps into the central cap, where the DD wanted to go in. It's hilarious :D
