I was more talking about general tactics, those are quite same to the old CV rework (not rusing into cap and die), though actually the old was more effective duo his multiple squads with DB-spotter (I blieve they moved around 180 KTS in high tier), with auto-heal and torpedo spotting. Also torping a smoke was more effective with 2-3 Torpedo squads cross dropping the smoke. I personally think it's now overall more fair. Only one squad and better air concealment. Espeically for DDs, who never had good AA like Shimakaze. The rocket planes have an horizontal elongated dispersion pattern, so bowing in reduces the dmg. And there will be maybe soon even better concealment for DDs, which will be a huge buff and will be way better than ever against CV for DDs. The question is, how many people are actually in this thread talking :3
  5. With the new detection change and the current dispersiion pattern (horizontal elongated), it will be almost impossible to do significant dmg to a DD. It will need another DD/Rada cruiser or spotter. Otherwise the CV player has to attack blind with an suboptimal dispersion pattern. That will lead to very low dmg generally. The mechanics are kinda different from easier spotting and attack to blind drops. ~ 1.5 km vs 3 km aa concealment is a huge difference. 50% when bow in?

What no? That makes no sense... xD

How did you play against CV, when you were active playing before? It's mostly the same, though the attack of the CV itself is different. Bow in against rockets and torpedos, Broadside against bombers. Go only for the cap, if you paid attention to the enemies CV movement and with smoke just for the case. Though they are already testing new air-concealment values, might be very strong for dds.
  8. read the full sentence, it's bound to a condition. ;) If they change the concealment that hard, then they have to change the AA, otherwise it's op. If WG want's a different meta, then it's up to them, I guess.
  9. And then the CV unicums come up with "CV is so op, because I'm good with it". because reaction time can't be balanced for the very best. If it will be hard to the very best, it will be impossible for average players. If it's possible for average players, than it's easy for the unicums. I think with that change they won't adress the general spotting issue, and the gameplay changes all over. All ships will have pretty good concealment against air. And everyone can decide to actiave AA, there will be way more "surprise aa attacks". I did that often as DD; when I was close to a mate, and the CV decides to go for the mate, I actiave my AA. Guess this will happen then very often, that the CV goes into stronger AA than expected.
  10. The AA change is needed, if you take the Air concealment change into account. Othweise you would have all cruisers <6km air detection. which all of the sudden activate the air and blast the planes away. I think the ramp up starts also earlier, even if the planes are not in range. They say 40-60%, so lets go with 50%. My Shikishima has only the concealment module and is around 11.5 km, with the change of 50% it would go to 5.75 km. I assume the BB get "only" 40% So all ships are now hidden inside the aa range or at least very close to it. It's obvious, that this needs an AA change. My Yoshino is at 9.7 km, 40% less would be 5,82 km. 50% - 4.85km, 60% - 3.88km. For a single ship, it might be more of a nerf, if the CV found that ship. Though it's heavier, when the CV doesn't know, that he flies into 3 ships. Also Flakexplosions are easier to dodge, when you know about them, but if a CV gets caught off guard, the chance is higher that he flies into those explosions. That happens at least sometimes to me, when I'm looking around without knowing that a ship is there, which turns AA on.
  11. Though the periscope depth should get better concealment as well, it's not much of a stealthy hunter, when the SS get spotted at 6-10 km because of the pings
  12. Ich hatte Spaß an den Wasserbomben :3
  13. Deckkanonen sollten dennoch funktionsfähig sein, selbst die Sekundärgeschütze von Kreuzer können Feuern, und die sind sinnloser als die U-Boot Deckkanonen (manuell)
  14. In my opinion every ship that had DCs should get DCs, the rest gets the ASW planes, if they have a catapult for planes. But I'm not asked ^^ I think they are testing the spotting issue, if they are able to spot or not and stuff like that, so we will see. I see no issue there. Some people complained, that the CV can fight everything without an issue, according to that, it's better, that CVs can't deal with subs. I personally think the same, the CV shouldn't be able to strike them easily. I don't think they get "more load". That sounds negative, I see it postive, they get situational tools, which gives advantages. The ASW plane is mostly only used when a sub is close, so it's not really a heavier load, that makes the game harder. It makes it easier. I played BB in the SS test and at some point, the bb mostly has just to run away, At this situation I would like to have the ASW. The SS had no chance to kill me, because I just run away out of range. But I also couldn't go back to battle, because of the SS
  15. Not all heavy cruisers had them and I think for a pvp-balance and clarity view it's better to make it easier. Like Ships of these type get this and ships of that type get that. It's world of warships and that game focus on pvp balance. In a simulator you would get everything correctly designed, but if we would get an simulator, nobody would play DDs or Cruisers, because BBs would sink them easily, so we have to live with that. How are problems, which are not bound to submarines important to a submarine test? I think the ASW planes are a quite cool mechanic. I played a few times BB while the SS test and if I imagine, I would have these planes, it would be totally fun.
  17. Sure, but I see no benefit from that only a loss. I just remember a guy from Elite Dangerous, who sold his space ship, because he wanted to play a different spaceship. I told him not to sell it, but he did. Few weeks later he wanted his old space ship back, but it was gone and he had to grind it again. He regret, that he sold it.
  18. thanks for that info, I missed that
  19. We talked about the ASWs, didn't we? So we talk only about the changes inbetween the ss patches. Everything else makes no sense, or what you have written before makes no sense ^^ you would say exactly the same, when we would have only BBs and cruisers and they would add now DDs. The DDs in this game a pretty unrealistic and adding DDs to the game "ruin" the balance. And they ruin a lot of fun. But the truth is. always when you add new classes/types, the balancing comes more complex. And in a game like wows, you will never have a perfect balance. I think BBs with ASW planes will be fun. I played BB without ASW in the test and the SS were no issue, same like DDs, just know map awareness and run away. SS are actually very similar to DDs in many ways. Different in some others. And aircraft planes have engines like ww1 planes. As you said before: I see no reason to delete an account. Just deinstall the game, but deleting the account can be something that you regret, because you never know how the future will develop and throwing stuff away, is not wise. Games like WoWS will always keep developing, at some point it could be fun for you again, but then you have your account deleted. So there is nothing you get for deleting, but the probability, that you could regret it.
  20. 1. how was it before? Was it better without a limited consumable with CD? 2. Which armament has no CD? 3. Do we know how much it is limited? Since we have no information about it, we can't complain about. But what we got is from "no ASW" to an "ASW Consumable". That's a buff and thats good. Maybe it happens, that a BB will be left with no ASW planes, but then, every weapon system has drawbacks. A sub can't dmg a BB that is just running away. So you could also say, at some point a SS is useless. I started this game with such a view until I figured out, how unrealistic it is and also had the comparison with WT. For Realism WT is better, though the Naval Battles still are not very good designed. WoWS is more of a arcrade-shooter with ships and pvp balance. Not a realistic simulation. Because of reducing the realism, WoWS is more playable than WT Naval Battles. That is the game how it progress since day one. They added all the time unrealistic stuff all the time. And they are not even that unrealistic. Homing torpeods existed, Subs got often destroyed by DDs, Subs destroyed Warships. That all happend. It obviously has to be adpated to the game and since it's not a simulation the gameplay will be arcady. People will leave, people will join. I like subs, I played them as main in Steel Ocean, and they were tons of fun. Just wish the WOWS subs would be more like the Steel Ocean subs Homing torps existed, though I would also prefer, if they would make the periscope depth more important, instead of underwater pinging. Though we also have 60s ships anyways
  21. The current state is ,that every surface ship gets hydro. DD and CL DCs and CA and BBs DC-planes. So it means, it can be always damaged, except by a CV. Chase down a DD? SSs are the slowest class and have limited view range. Guess SS are the worst to chase down a DD, they could only surprise them. But even that with the new changes idk... They change the game. But I would think you would say the same, if you would have only BBs and CAs and they would add now DDs ;) BBs have ASW This argumentation is pointless, because then we have to delete half of the game content, because it's not realistic. Radar through Mountains. Ships with radar, that can't use radar. Infinite Torpedos on DDs. Aircraft planes are way to slow, they mostly fly around 150-200 knots. The B7N for example has 566km/h ->300 knots
  22. that has nothing to do with the oxygen system. They could do taht with the battery system as well. They just decided against it
  23. That question about railguns and gudied missiles is quite weird. It has historically aspects, but it's a pvp-shooter and not a historically simulation. As I said. If something is historically, then it is a bonus and it's nice. But arguing against something because it's not historically or realistic doesn't work in this game, because in the end the balancing is important. We could also ask, if it would care about history, why do fight all nations vs all nations? Why has Kaga "modern" planes? Why have ship with radar no radar? Why is radar going thorugh mountains? Why have DDs infinite Torpedeos? Many questions, but the answer is simple: Mostly because of pvp-focused game design and balance
  24. The thing is, arguing with realism and historical accuracy in a game like this makes no sense. At least when it comes to arguemnts against something. If there is something realistic in the game, then it's welcomed, but we can't expect that from the game. The focus is way more on PvP and balance, then historically simulation ^^
  25. in the end it's just a name. You could also call it gummy bears. Though I heared battery is more realistic, because subs has less battery charge than oxygen.
