That’s why I didn’t quote you, I do agree with your standpoint. I may have worded it differently, but that’s exactly what I mean with “niche like spotter plane” Core stuff like DCP and Heal are a must as a prem consumable every single time WoWS wiki is practically always in one of 2 states - it’s either outdated or simply wrong Win really doesn’t affect credits, just that generally you will have scored better in a win (unless you had a high scoring last stand / hearthbreak defeat). Your end result is what matters
-
That’s actually a good point, every bit that breaks off would just be a new floater
-
Cases like that are exactly why I straight up don’t beleave the “div counts as 1”, “you need more than 3 reports” and “1 div can’t chatban you” claims. Not even for a second, bloody lies
-
This is 100% wrong You could argue this for something super niche like Spotter plane, but not for wast majority of consumables. The cooldown difference alone means you’ll always do better with prem consumables than free ones, which directly leads to more income No matter what ALWAYS run as many premium consumables as possible Wins affect XP, not credits. Credits are the same regardless of win / draw / lose. And co-op is a place where you can lose credits even at low tiers. Operations are the only kind of “co-op” where you can make money, and even for that you’d need a semi-reliable rate of getting 4...5 stars In approximately 100% of cases you are better off actually using them instead of selling them Service costs are tier related, not class related
-
That’s never a good idea @Tatsfield You’re not supposed to make credits at those high tiers. You have mid tier & premium ships for that. As is economy already is far too soft - all you need is a prem acc and a perma-camo, and you’ll nearly never lose credits, regardless of how badly you have played the match

Exactly my thoughts. But it ends up as a case of “our words” vs “what WG said”

ST - new camouflages, UI improvements, new Yamato model
wilkatis_LV replied to Sehales's topic in Development Blog
Yamato looks... slimmer I guess MrConway wasn't the only one on a diet? -
Ahahahaha, are you serious right now? If anyone ever needs proof that WG is always doing stuff the lowest common denominator (that being the 30% WR potato BB scraping border behind your spawn) No BB-Radar? No Spotter plane? Giveaway for these things is the ships name in the pic. Slavik is the only one "silver", all the premiums are gold Going by whats written in this thread (mostly from original post) - researched from t9 BB as an alternative to the Kreml

Can't wait for a bug where someone gets permastuck in open water because game thought there's still an island after it has been destroyed

Oh look, another amazing example of someone writing a forum post outside of the forum for whatever f-ing reason Can you explain to me what do we have the text box for then? Just take a screenshot of wherever you wrote the post and post pictures, at least that might make it more readable -
Hard to get? Oh please, give me your acc for like 3 games and I'll get you one Karma is also reduced by the other 3 reports which don't actually do anything. Only the chat misbehaviour counts Also there's basically no algorithm, it's either get enough reports or get manually reported
-
The important part is the one immediately following the WGs calim - "Insert (X) Doubt meme" They have said it is so, but I really don't believe that. Too many cases of personal experience speaking against that, on both - recieving and giving - ends The 0 Karma "you already were chatbanned multiple times recently" insta-chatban seems to require just 2...3 people to report you, hence the full div can do it. Of course, I have to remind you that everything that's written as "it seems" or alike is coming from what I think I know about it, with anecdotal evidence as the only thing to back that up. Could be completely wrong, or could be absolutely right, who knows.
-
I've done some.... lets call it "testing" about this I may be repeating some stuff Egoleter already said, but whatever: The "Misbehaviour in chat" reports are counted. The other 3 have no meaning Single player reporting you can not give you more than one "strike" per match. You can drop all 7 reports on someone, that will be exactly as efficient as reporting them just once WG have said reports from division count as 1 aswell Insert (X) Doubt meme Afaik you don't actually need to say anything to be approved for a chatban. No, really If you do get chatbanned chances are you did say something & did deserve it, so that ^ will not pass as an excuse Chatban isn't issued to you immediately. It comes together with the 1st chat message from you after it's given to you This means in theory you can start your chatban hours after it has been actually given to you Unknown: Do pings count as chat messages? Do achievements count as chat messages? Auto-chatban (the one coming from reports) is 24h. If your chatban is more than 24h (usually 2...3 days, but can go longer) - someone has submitted a replay with you being salty, that replay was manually reviewed and the decision was made to "punish" you. Likely your previous chatlogs have been checked aswell Number of reports needed is unknown WG have said it's like 10+ It does seem that each next time without a long pause you can get a chatban quicker and easier If Karma affects it or no is unknown It does seem that it has an effect Positive Karma seems to take a while to drop before issuing you a chatban 0 Karma seems to issue the chatban with barely any reports at all Tinfoil hat mode: with 0 karma it sometimes feels like a 3-man div can get you insta chatbanned

EVERY single ship with 2 amo types - so all DDs, Cruisers and BBs except for RN silver CLs - have different dispersion for each of their amo types Sigma doesn't change. If you had 2.0, you still have 2.0. But that's just your "likelihood to go towards center / consistency", not dispersion itself "Listed" dispersion - the Horizontal dispersion as it "should" be & is shown to you in wiki / port - doesn't change. This doesn't help much since the value is false anyway, current "working theory" is that this likely is the width for area where 50+% of your shells fill fall, but it's far from being the whole width of your dispersion ellipse. Does your actual Horizontal dispersion change? Noone knows. Maybe. It's still much larger than your listed disp. So what the does change? Vertical dispersion. The part of the ellipse which is multiple times larger than Horizontal, even if you look at full H. value, not just the listed one. Shells weight and velocity - 2 values you can see changing - are 2 major components of calculating V.disp.. They change, dispersion changes. And that's before we even start looking at "hidden" stats like drag and so on Also as these values change so will your arcs. Generally they will be rather similar, but they really don't have to be. For a very obvious example use NC, shooting at the same range with AP and HE shells. HE arcs are noticeably flatter With this then your hit chances change aswell. Lower arcs have less chances of going over the target without hitting it The simplified version would be - heavier shell with slower velocity *should* be more accurate (as in - can't go far from target), but a lighter faster shell would have a better chance of hitting (as in - targets shadow (area on water where your shell can't land because the target is in its way) will be significantly larger). Not guaranteed either way ofc, hidden stats can completely change it

Smoke Concealment - Remind me how im spotted in smoke as a DD
wilkatis_LV replied to OddityNZ's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, Fuso is such a well known t8 BB. Or is it maybe t9 or t10? And as you can read in my answer - I watched the replay, it’s the 20s bloom. Why anyone even tries to guess something new since that answer was posted is beyond me -
Smoke Concealment - Remind me how im spotted in smoke as a DD
wilkatis_LV replied to OddityNZ's topic in General Discussion
I think the example I used when this was introduced was Mino vs Yamato Mino can smoke up, sit in his smoke and still spot Yamato out to like 18km, as long as the Yamato is firing his main guns. And as long as that Yamato is between 5.5km and those same 18km - that Mino from his own smoke can fire at that Yamato without being spotted in return Smoke detection works with everyone all the time - regardless of you being inside or outside of the smoke. One of the big reasons why smoking up near BBs is more of a problem than help for the BB -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
wilkatis_LV replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Didn't I answer? Must have slipped me They're annoying and frustrating to play against because of what they bring to the table. But, ofc, that doesn't make them strong or weak, that just makes them annoying / frustrating. I too think RN BBs are perfectly fine, in fact I like their sAP significantly better than the normal AP every other BB gets The way I see that - most players never reach rating like Typhoon. Inevitably this means that "most played" ships come from down below, with the largest number of cases making up the "standard build". Doesn't mean they understand why they run it, doesn't mean they are even close to being correct. S-O mentioning "it's very popular" is what leads me to think this. They're not addressing what makes HIV so desirable (I have to ask - does WG even know?) , they're just going from "they use this a lot, must be the answer". And as another Typhoon clan player I can vouch for what you already said - I don't know / probably haven't seen anyone running LM on HIV in CB. It's fun for randoms, not competitive -
That vid is already old news. RN CVs have been nerfed since then, afaik quite significantly. Longer bomb fall time, something about torpedoes aswell. I think smaller wing per attack with more attacks per whole squadron, but might be wrong on that one
-
Hey, if I can brag with a relatively rare flag, why not double that?
-
Yeah, give us the replay. Also - was the top (well, the top of "hitbox" not visual) of his highest point behind something maybe? As in, ship partially hidden, firing with only bow / stern weapons?
-
Prediction: BB player *Checks stats* *Private profile* Conclusion: I'm probably right with my prediction anyway Why do you BBabies always have to make other BB players look bad
-
How do you play the Kronshtadt? Give me Advice!
wilkatis_LV replied to hamed_pour's topic in General Discussion
Krons bow is 25mm, so everything with 358mm or bigger gun (a.k.a. every t8+ BB, most of t7 BBs aswell) will go straight through it. Can't tank with it like with Moskvas / Stalins 50mm. So the answer is - angled -
That would be the premium t8 one, Audacious is the top of the line

Smoke Concealment - Remind me how im spotted in smoke as a DD
wilkatis_LV replied to OddityNZ's topic in General Discussion
All 5 hits were perfectly midships (single-fired), so on Fusos torpedo belt. Literally the least damage they could have done Launching those torps as a full launcher spread would most likely have killed the Fuso there Same 2km as every other ship You were spotted, how is that blind fire? It doesn't make sense for you to smoke up and still be able to spot the BB who's like 15km away from you just because he fired his main guns, and yet that's exactly how it works
