    Except that Stalingrads citadel alone probably is larger (longer?) than some of those cruisers, not even talking about the whole ship which is nearly the size of a GK (funny how this exact line is also used to describe upcoming VMF t10 BBs size) Thickness wise identical to Moskva except for 25mm thicker main belt (155 vs 180 mm) Layout wise... 50mm bow section is far smaller covering only the lower bow not 2/3 of it, 25mm bow and stern are massive, ship itself is way way larger, natural armour angling is far worse as Stalingrads armour is way closer to being vertical than Moskvas armour... On paper it's basically the same, in practice it's effectively far worse Where exactly? Afaik there's no spaced armour on Stalingrad. Even her torp-bulges are fully under water, below the main belt Remember how easy it was to oneshoot Moskvas through the bow before they got their 50mm? Without this internal armour layer Stalingrad would be even easier, even with that small 50mm belt on her bow. You mean relative to ships height or the distance above water? Because you have to keep in mind Stalingrad is way larger than Moskva Yeah, no. 1st of all normalization is the angle shell goes closer towards perpendicular after hitting something, and as that's caliber related Stalin gets BBs 6° while DM has it at 7° That aside, while she has improved AP angles (+5°), DM / Mino have 50% better improvement (+7.5°) Yeah, Alaska in its tests got the 7.5° improvement. Not the 5° like Stalingrad And keep in mind that Moskva already was massive for a CA

    I've said it many many times - yeah, radar going through islands is unrealistic. But you know what else is unrealistic? Short range (should be pretty much like ships max vision range if not longer), unrealistically short duration (like 20...50s max? please) - in fact it should have no max duration, cooldown after turning it off - it should be a simple toggle on / off ability, and then what's up with some magical max number of times we can use the radar?! Please, make it more realistic! Except that they're not. It's a game not a simulator

    Same list as always: AA Secondaries Main batteries Turret barbettes (outside the ship) Fully saturated areas Spaced armour Citadel hits (citadels give citadel ribbon + pen ribbon) Nothing to do with the ship you're playing, it's mostly RNG and the ship you're firing at

    Which has a 10km radar, not the 11.7 which we are talking about here Did testruns with this vs clanmates a while ago. Me in a YY (18.5k HP), no SE on captain. They - in a full concealment Mino (8.85km) with Radar (+ radar mod for extended duration so 10km x 48s). I'm going straight towards the Mino, full speed. Mino is coming straight towards me, full speed. This produces the worst case scenario where I in a DD am closing in towards the Mino with a relative speed of about 73kts (or actually 192kts due to scaling). To put that speed into perspective I was closing towards the Mino with a speed of 100m/s I in the YY am only "half-paying attention". That means - alt-tabbing to check something in the internet, talking on Discord about something unrelated, looking around, writing something, stuff like that. So I'm not exactly sure about when I'll get radared and I have to react to that As soon as Mino is spotted he pops radar and starts shooting. Only when my YY is radared can I start doing something about it. Every single time I got out with about 3...5k HP left. Then, of course, add 3.5k more from SE which you would normally have. Far from a guaranteed death And this isn't a case of potato aim, it was me as an "above average" DD going vs people who are unicums in cruisers overall and Mino in particular.

    Researching ships in 7.12

    1) Why not just grind it? Free XP the modules on QE if you don't want to play her stock, then go play QE till you have XP for KGV 2) Seeing how stock QE -> KGV takes 97k all you'd need to do would be open KGV in tech-tree and select "research" just like on any other ship. Unless, of course, you think you have QE researched but you actually don't so you need to do that 1st.

    edited edited The view is quite clear - radar's fine as is. Unless you suffer from a heavy case of needing to git gud, but then it's not the radar that has the problem

    If I'm not mistaken that's just a very annoying bug which has been stated to be "fixed" at least a few times by now Don't think there's any way to remove any ports from yourself, as your ports are available to your account not just the single PC you usually play on

    Yeah, both are multiplied on their own, so you could say they kind of "reduce" each others effect. It's only in rare cases when the bonuses are added together before multiplying with them, like with fire resistances (Fire Prevention + DmgCon mod in 2nd slot)

    Yeah, there even was a thread about this earlier: Personally I'm constantly - generally speaking multiple times per battle for like 30+ seconds - dropping frames, generally down to 20 but sometimes as low as 8...11

    Which is wrong about every 2nd thing they have posted there For a great example of this - right now go to it and check PFEs, Vanguards, WVs and probably many many other ships "min dispersion" What you'll see on all of them is: Which is correct on exactly 0 of those ships And that's just 1 thing, wowsft being wrong isn't exactly something revolutionary, there's always something off on that site. Meanwhile I'm having fun in my PFE, being like "this ship so weak I couldn't even manage 150k in a t6 BB"

    Every single argument you've brought has turned out to be.... False. What a surprise. You failing with the ship is nothing more than you misplaying it. PFE's far from being weak (except in t8 games where every single t6 ship sucks massively)

    is fine as is is more than good enough already as long as you're not a potato going flat broadside or trying to tank 380+ mm guns with your bow -not necessary -is already perfectly fine, especially with EM which you run on every BB anyway -absolutely not needed, even if you don't use rudder mod in 4th slot Stop spreading your nonsense, if you can't figure out how to play the ship after having it repeatedly explained to you - that's not the ship being weak, that's a player issue

    Yes, because both can run at the same time. After they run out however you'll have to choose which you'll go for. Normal PA on both - WoT and WoWS - with a smaller bonus on WoWS, the WPA for extra on WoWS but nothing on WoT or as you have now - both - effectively doubling the price for yourself.
  21. I've complained about this previously, but since it's still not fixed - here we go again. Compare these 2 screenshots, taken right after each other: Max zoom: 2 "ticks" out from max zoom: Why the hell is smoke still invisible when you are maximally zoomed in?! And literally it's only a max zoom thing - even just 1 tick out shows a slight fog where the smoke is, which is all I'd god damn need from it while fully zoomed in. The amount of salvos I've missed because I had no idea the ship is starting to lay a smoke while I'm aiming at it - especially since the speed change while going from Full to 3/4 isn't exactly super noticeable visually.... Ridiculous. And that's just one case where I'd like to actually god damn know that there's a smokescreen where I'm looking at Another one is smokescreens and their visual vs actual borders Here's an example: Those rings that indicate the smokescreens actual borders - they aren't really always visible, especially if you're looking from a ships PoV instead of already admiring the reason why you were sunk in the post-death camera. Not sure if it's angle or distance issue, but sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. Visually smokescreens are so much wider than they actually are, that when laid next to island they often visually join up with them while actually leaving a rather large gap through which anyone can be spotted despite being fully - and rightfully - convinced that he's in smokescreens cover. Come on! And while we are speaking about "borders" - the hell is up with map edge being displayed to you or not depending on your viewing angle?! Thick border: No border: The amount of times I've run into the map edge without knowing it's there - simply because direction I was looking towards happened to fit the magical angle - and thus losing all my speed because I wasn't already pre-turning out to avoid it... Why would such an invisibility feature be introduced?! Like seriously, it serves absolutely no positive purpose! @MrConway @Crysantos The game can be frustrating enough as is, do we really need completely unnecessary things like these turning that up to 11?

  24. Bit of an old thread, but since I hadn't seen it... Funny thing about this - when the Allied help was actually needed they just sat nearby and "observed the situation". Their promise was to help Lavtia & Estonia (probably Lithuania aswell, not sure on that) but despite what's promised they just sat there and waited to see "who'll have the upper hand". Only when it was absolutely clear that the Russian, German and Russian-German united (yeah there were such aswell, russian part mostly consisting of "whites", a.k.a. those supporting the Tsars throne not communism) armies were on the retreat did Allied ships come into local ports and started providing some off-shore artillery support. Literally when it wasn't even needed anymore What a thing to be proud of!
