Trading your own concealment for a better radar would indeed be an interesting tradeoff.

The only area you listed that actually does dmg to the ship So just as expected the answer was a solid no

Question about directives (The Mighty Prinz Campaign)
wilkatis_LV replied to Amun_RA's topic in General Discussion
They won't be locked, so you can do them all as late in the event as you want. But I'd advice you to start earlier, you need at least 6 missions done in each directive to unlock the next one, and... they'll take quite some time. That's 18+ missions before you unlock the last directive. Plus the last one will be quite the grind. -
Any serious difference between 52mm pen and 67mm pen? Highly doubt it.
-
Honestly Musashi is just a worse Yamato, and in those rare cases where you'll meet 7s your 460s are absolute overkill. Hello overpens on everything. Meanwhile Kron... I'm not much of a cruiser player, but those few games I played with her I found her much more enjoyable and much more fun (in randoms) than Stalingrad. Not sure why tho
-
I mean, it would be kind of hilarious to extend Stalingrads radar out to 17.55km

Posted this over a year ago (October 2017), typically for WG - completely ignored. Just check this:
-
Only Nelson, Lion and Conq get the 2%. Then there's Warspite with 0.6% instead of 0.5%. And then there are 10 other RN BBs (that's 71.4% of all RN BBs), including Vanguard, with perfectly normal heals @Anthoniusii how's that replay coming?

Ship name selection and allied clans entering clan battles
wilkatis_LV replied to Nightstalker641's question in Q&A Section
Ship names - no. There are cases of same class being represented with multiple ships (like Amagi - Ashitaka or Iowa - Missouri), and there's always a chance that a sistership will be introduced on its own with differing characteristics. Plus this would make identifying the ship so much harder for the average player CB - no. It's a Clan Battle, not "Random People Division" Battle. If your 2 "allied" clans struggle to get a team together - merge the clans into one, you end up with more people in a single clan making getting the team together (and earning oil for building) easier. -
If the shell kept its movement direction that would completely remove the point of normalization Normalization changes the direction your shell goes (always closer to perpendicular to the armour) so that there is less armour to pass through. Turning the shell sideways while keeping the same path would reduce your penetration capabilities instead of increasing it
-
Which is where the fact that his shells at this range after hitting are going perpendicular to armour = nearly parallel to citadel roof comes in. I had already mentioned it: Thus they are not traveling downwards making that hit impossible. Kii is up-armoured Amagi, a BB made out of a CB (which is slightly ironic seeing how Amagi is generally a down-armoured Tosa). Should be looked at as an Ashitaka with thicker main belt, which it kinda is. Exactly that, the B hull already was the upgraded "what if" design by WG. When the Ashitakas hull was Amagis A hull we didn't have the armour viewer (at least not that I would remember it) so I can't tell you if the citadel changed with the hull change, but I'd bet it did.

Obviously. Replay would prove him wrong. Hence us asking for it is the instant end of this thread. Mods might aswell close it now Yes, smoke works both ways. When you are in smoke you can see only the ships that your allies are spotting / ships who have fired their main guns and are close enough to you that their smoke firing range is more than distance to you. In your case GK held fire, no ally was spotting him, and then he spotted you in one of the 3 possible ways: Hydro He had Target Acquisition instead of Concealment in 5th slot You kept firing your guns, I think Chung Mus smoke detection was something like 2.9km You saw him at 2.6km because then he finally fired at you, and that's presumably what killed you
-
Replays are auto-enabled for everyone now. I'm pretty sure you havne't played more than 30 games in the last 2 hours. Just post yours here, we'll tell you how you screwed up Concealment is dependent of ships height already This is why some cruisers - like Moskva - are spotted from further away than some BBs - like Conq. Moskvas highest point simply goes quite a bit higher up than Conqs.

You know, I really want to dislike that just because of how disgusting it is Also lol on the fact that in the 2nd vid you never had to go with anything but rockets. I'm sure those DDs appreciated it

Well that's a "you" issue, not a "reward" issue. Also you have 6 months to do it, can't be that hard. -
Has anyone noticed changes to GK?
wilkatis_LV replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
You can still set fires without penetrating, but that's Fire not HE damage Fire damage can be 100% healed and there are a lot of ways to reduce enemy fire chance and fire duration. Hell, you can even combine both midships fires into one. Plus, ofc, Dmg-Con to instantly put them out and gain 15s immunity from new fires being started. Fires are very farm from being "significant" damage, not until the point where the ship has been on fire for half of the match. Watch this for an example. Montana, which is quite vulnerable to HE, shrugging it off like it's nothing. Meanwhile if the ship there was a GK that 74k HE dmg taken would have been so so much lower. Probably some 20k on superstructure... and that's it. If even that much. Just put 2 DMs vs a Republic (all over 32mm plating) and compare that to 2 DMs vs a GK (basically all over impenetrable). I wonder if the Republic will die before GK even reaches 50% HP. Probably yes. *2 DMs because 1 may be easily killed. Might even be better (and quicker) to use 3. Also 203s & no torps* I think it was something along the lines of base amount = the real amount carried by the ship, and then we get more from stuff like premium version of the consumable and Superintendent captain skill. You're highly unlikely to use more than 2 of them in a battle, not even talking about all of them. -
On average six months to a year. Unless hordes of potatoes start complaining, then they have the data needed immediately and "have been working on a solution for quite some time already" With the reworked captain skills and reworked AA modules resetting / demounting both of those should be for free, at least in my opinion. Got 2 wait for that announcement.

Has anyone noticed changes to GK?
wilkatis_LV replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
What you forgot to add there is the -proof armour shattering nearly all incoming HE. BBs, CBs, German CAs and IFHE HIV are the only ships that can at least semi-reliably HE-pen a GK. Everyone else has a case of "go superstructure or go home" That's the case with most (at least high-tier) ships that have spotters. Not like it matters, you don't pay any extra for more / less of them used -
I'm honestly considering that. Then again, hoping that this will be just the next patch... beyond optimistic. Wasn't it even said that WG plans to keep testing & changing stuff till like 0.8.4 which would be May?

#MerryLittleShipmas Contest Rewards
wilkatis_LV replied to YellowSubmarine's topic in General Discussion
Ahh, got your drift. As you yourself said - you got the CAMPAIGN access, not the bundle. Now, when we take those doubloons out of Strefs sum ( https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/110539-steel-monsters-campaign-worth-it/ ) that leaves you with 49...50eur worth of stuff in the campaign. That's still 50eur -
At 5km PEF hits vertical armour at 3.18°, with 6° of normalization on all BBs this means your shell ALWAYS enters that Ashitaka perfectly perpendicular to the armour where you hit Ashitakas citadel is waterline, except for the spot where Ashitakas citadel - just like Kiis citadel - is very slightly elevated under her 2 bow turrets. Now put those 2 together. Waterline citadel with shell entering perpendicular to the armour it hit. To make it easier for you - unless your hits were underwater you would never have citadelled Ashitaka like that as your shells just passed well above it. The only "cr@p" there is your understanding of your shells interaction with Ashitakas armour, and then that armours layout. Nothing to do with PEF.

#MerryLittleShipmas Contest Rewards
wilkatis_LV replied to YellowSubmarine's topic in General Discussion
Which is 50eur, yeah. You yourself even linked to the premium shop, where it's clearly listed as 49.99eur. Strefs did a value comparison where stuff in the campaign, if bought on its own, costs 58.45eur Nothing "40" about that Misread the Doubloons / Steel part. Clearly from the Campaign you get no Doubloons, and there are no Doubloons listed in the reward image you provided in the opening post. From where did you pull out that you should get 2019 of them? The only case of "2019 something" I've seen is the 2019 Steel from PEF missions, which I already mentioned -
t6 BBs (or t6 ships in general) aren't really expected to do much in +2 MM. Nothing you can do about that, you are outclassed too much Funny thing about this - 50% of t8 cruisers outrange you. The other 50% are really close (was it within 800m?) to your max range. Happy days, aye? Warspite has 5s, a.k.a. the same as cruisers & DDs For anything t5+ you kinda want at least a 10p captain so you get access to concealment This might be viable for t8 matches, not necessary for t6 & t7 games Pure preference for that one. You want to start / end your turns quicker, or you want fires to last a few seconds less?

wilkatis_LV replied to YellowSubmarine's topic in General Discussion
The sum worth of stuff you get from the campaign was approximately 50eur. So... it kinda "is" That sounds like the PEF 5-stage mission. You need to play PEF to get that steel. Either that or is it the steel you get from completing the campaign? So again - you need to play the game to get it. -
today AIRCARRIER, and tomorow AIRCARRIER
wilkatis_LV replied to remenberMYname's topic in General Discussion
So you'll finally have a class you might be able to play? Also it's aircraft carrier not aircarrier
