WoWS and WoWS Legends are 2 completely separate games. Don't try to compare them.

Stop looking at those ratings, they are about as shaving foam to a Wookiee. The extent of their usefulness goes to "another player in the exact same ship - you MAY (still not guaranteed) be able to check if your builds are similar". Nothing more than that Clearly unlike you Amagis player was smart enough to run concealment in 5th slot and on his captain. Presumably he also used camo, which sounds like you could have skipped. You went from "absolutely clueless" to "still pretty damn clueless". Improvement, at least. The thing that changed was you finally noticing something you paid no attention to previously This means that the Amagi didn't outspot you. Someone stealthier was spotting you, Amagi fired from past his detection range. This is why adding that Amagis range from you would have been rather useful No you don't, and NOTHING changed Everyone has last 30 replays saved by default now. Post yours, we'll tell you *Edited

Honestly? Don't give a This isn't place for you to try and solve your insecurities

is clearly against forum rules Grow a thicker skin, and if you can't - either solve your issues with him in an in-game PM or report him to support.

Dispersion - it's worse than it seems
wilkatis_LV replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
That's actually a good point LWM uses it for tests, right? That would take the dispersion down to 198m But yeah, that would be the 3rd way how this same point could work with the same outcome -
Dispersion - it's worse than it seems
wilkatis_LV replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
It's 401m if the x2.61 scaling is correct, but I think it was the x2. And this case would fit only the x2.61 sizes I did consider this initially, but every reference I've read / heard / seen talks about h.disp. as "width" a.k.a. full size of it not just the length of each of the 2 short radii of the ellipse. Of course, as 1MajorKoenig already mentioned shells don't have to go to the edge simply because they can, and the x1.88 expected size is quite close to the x2 But yeah, I'd put that as the 2nd best theory (closely) right after the "dispersion given is only for 50% of shells", and that only because it has been mentioned that WG used to do (still do? no idea) this in their other titles (WoT being the example here) -
Probably because that update won't be out at least till next weeks thursday (17th Jan)?

Have you noticed getting more AP over pens lately?
wilkatis_LV replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
While playing the French BBs? Yeah, they overpen literally everything, far more than other BBs do. But they have done that since their release. While playing other BBs? No, business as usual Ribbons didn't change, only damage did. You can still get those same full-pen ribbons, and you can still get 0 dmg saturated pens on them, while overpens would have done dmg there. -
STALINGRAD , get him for FLAGS exchange?
wilkatis_LV replied to remenberMYname's topic in General Discussion
The day Milan gets his Stalingrad is going to be the day WG finally proves anyone really can do it You're like 6 months late to this, as per usual in your case -
You get a warning so far ahead of it there's just no way it catches you off-guard. Stop scraping the border behind your spawn and you'll be fine, cyclones are a problem only if you are playing some 20km further away than you should have been

Dispersion - it's worse than it seems
wilkatis_LV replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
That actually is a very very new line there The whole Gunnery page seems to be heavily updated lately. Guess someone finally re-started updating wiki? There never is. At least I haven't seen that happening even once No, that's dispersion when you are locked as you are supposed to be locked every time you shoot. That's the "natural" state of it. Being "unlocked" is seen as a penalty on top of that Also we see way wider numbers than expected despite being locked on target. Since LWM is locked on the target they should be the tighter version, and even if the 213 was "unlocked" - we should have gone below it not way above -
How to improve aiming (esp in Nurnberg)
wilkatis_LV replied to WorkOstrich's topic in General Discussion
Do you have multiple accounts or is this 525 matches spread over 3 years? That could simply be you massively out of practice, as "getting the feel for it" is probably the most important part of successful aiming. That, and some basic ability to guess where the enemy will go Replay: You are WAY too far back. Most of the battle you spent behind your spawn with no enemies within range. I understand being unwilling to push in a ship infamous for being a oneshot, but damn... you're taking it like 5 steps too far The only time when enemies were closer to normal combat ranges to you was when they were coming towards you and you needed to turn thus losing the distance Dispersion area becomes worse with distance - the further you are, the lesser the chance for your shells to actually hit something Shell flight time increases with distance - you were constantly firing at "10s" where even BBs can start dodging you relatively comfortably, not even talking about cruisers / DDs You seem to have trouble recognizing ships changing their movement direction and / or speed. That needs practice, some mods can help to make it easier Do you have "Alternative interface" turned on? Go to settings -> controls and check it (recommended setting - "Full"). Having the range / flight time shown to you can help with determining the amount of lead needed to hit the target -
Dispersion - it's worse than it seems
wilkatis_LV replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
In port your horizontal dispersion is that same value you can calculate by whichever formula fits your ship, just at your listed max range. For example - that GK in your signature. Base range 20.6km -> 268m listed max h.disp. (with acc in 3rd slot 249m) Range mod 23.9km -> 300m listed max h.disp. (with acc in 3rd slot 279m) Legendary 18.95km -> 252m listed max h.disp. (with acc in 3rd slot 234m) Legendary + Range 21.98km -> 281m listed max h.disp. (with acc in 3rd slot 262m) They may differ by +/- 1m due to rounding. The "standard deviation" part of accuracy is sigma, and that's not shown in-game I'm pretty sure they did. *(One quick search later)* They kind-of mention it at 1:14, but it's definitely stated at 4:05 (video should start at this) Tbh not even surprised In the video about aircraft they also stated that "all aircraft see 11km" which is not true as floatplane spotters actually see 15. It's not. The only thing increased is the ship - but it needs to be increased as it's in-game and that's where I'm taking the size from. Effectively look at it as 53-point-something (or 70-something) meter wide ship compared to the width of dispersion as it is. And it couldn't really be the "you're not locked so it's 2x dispersion size" - 1st of all she is locked, and 2nd - neither 1.44 nor 1.88 equal to 2, as close as the 2nd gets to it. -
Player issue not game issue Skilled players can easily go in multi-DD divs and carry the game by setting up crossfires, cross-torping and expanding their effective spotting area while keeping themselves covered & protected. Meanwhile bad players fail regardless of their ship selection, the only difference that comes from it is how will they fail. Suicide rushes, fail-blob of DDs, half of your teams BBs scraping the same border... Basically different ship, same story

Noob here, how do I stop all my planes from getting shot down?
wilkatis_LV replied to TheOneAndOnlyMuffinCat's question in Q&A Section
Honestly there's no point to it right now as CVs are getting full class / gameplay rework in less than 2 weeks. And if the AA stays like it is on PTS... Yeah, even AA ships won't be doing much to you -
Practically it doesn't because no plating (afaik) fits the bill, but on paper it actually does 380 / 6 = 63.333 = 63 -> 62mm pen 381 / 6 = 63.5 = 64 -> 63mm pen Never forget the "normal rounding, then take 1mm off" part Similar as to Mogami vs other CLs: 152 / 6 = 25.333 = 25 -> 24mm pen 155 / 6 = 25.833 = 26 -> 25mm pen

People, please stop using them till they get their together and actually start posting correct information Like half of everything posted on wowsft is straight up wrong At 10km it's 448mm vertical plate (or 96mm horizontal deck) pen. Vertical is the one that counts as you'd bounce on the deck anyway.

You mean the Excel table? From an Excel spreadsheet somewhere on my PC. It's simple maths, you can create it for yourself if you want to. FC is a given, same with reload and gun count. Turn reload into "rounds per minute", multiply that by number of guns and by fire chance, you have your average potential fires per minute For example on Stalingrad: 33%, 20s, 9 guns. F/min = 0.33 * (60 / 20) * 9 = 0.33 * 3 * 9 = 8.91

Same as Kron and Stalin, same as would-be Alaska and Azuma. 4 of those 5 are proposed to be changed from 45 to 60s, Spee is the 5th, and it fits the description completely. Not that it needs another nerf after already having its AP slaughtered vs DDs

I enjoy the current CV gameplay, I despise the ridiculous amount of bugs that comes with it. Previously there always was "fingers crossed this gets fixed in the future", now it's just "this is as good as it's going to get". Point to bother with it? None
-
I'd say it's highly class dependent. DDs certainly are way more powerful at lower tiers, having a lot of counters as well as very long cooldowns at higher ones (around t7 tends to be the low-point, they get better after that) BBs (mostly) are frustratingly bad early on, but get into real powerhouses later (assuming you don't try to snipe from max range with your HE) Cruisers are great early on with the lacking BB threat, and then again at high tiers when they start getting decent... but mid tiers can be described as nothing but miserable for them (at least in my honest opinion) CVs... Useless in low tiers, heavily punished when they stop being useless because of massive increase of AA, then at some point they randomly start deleting everything even through DefAA (*khm* AP bombs *khm*). Not like it matters with a full rework coming in 2-ish weeks

Science of Victory mission 2 task 8 bug?
wilkatis_LV replied to Lumik8's question in Newcomer Questions
Just adding to the previous 2 answers - the "can be earned once" also might have been the part you remember from a longer quote - "Reward can be earned once per day" - which usually comes with these achievements I don't know of any back-tracking campaign tasks in WoWS, all of them need to be done after you accept the task -
Your point being? Also you're like a month late to this
