Nothing has changed in the *close* past. But just before that we got the MM change to Mirror MM which is the thing guilty for this, and more people are starting to figure it out. Ironically enough more people doing this is the best "counter" to it as they'll just meet same style divs thus going into proper faildiv MM This works exactly like it previously did with CVs anchoring divs: MM is forced to find an enemy of the same type + tier Div of t4 + t5 ship (or any other combo) thus needs to find a t4 + t5 ship to fight against. Since normally that t4 + t5 won't be in a div it's a guaranteed t5 match (ofc, still can be +1 if you go higher, like 5 + 6 can meet 7s) There are 2 ways for MM to stop this: As already mentioned div of X + Y vs div of X + Y, and this happens more as more people start doing it Problem is that they kinda need to match not only the tier, but also the ship type as in t4 BB vs t4 BB. t4 BB vs t4 DD wouldn't work as the MM would have to find another t4 BB and anther t4 DD for that match The X + Y div needs get in a match where someone has sat in queue for at least 3 min as then the Mirror MM is thrown away But yeah, if you are grinding your 8s - ask for someone to play some t7 in a div with you. You should get t8 most of the time with some rare t9 battles (like 6:4 ratio? this is just an educated guess) and really highly unlikely to catch any t10 games

Believe it or no, but lots of people already struggle with them

That seems to be the most popular "problem" with tanking AP, as I already mentioned. Hence me mentioning it Except that they are not inaccurate, at least not by BB standards Yes, this is a fair point. But similarly to RN BBs detection vulnerability to floatplane spotters basically noone uses / abuses it. And since I was told that with noone using it against RN BBs that doesn't count as a weakness, guess that sort-of counts here aswell. But I agree with you, for those who know it it's a nice weakpoint to aim for. If only more ships had spots like that, as they tend to reward skill on both - defending and attacking - sides. Lots of HE shells tend to land on bow / stern if you are angled against that HE. Broadside shots still often land midships, unless the player is competent enough to shift fire to the particular section. Luckily most players are far from any kind of competence. Also saturation. In my experience HE dmg itself really wasn't a problem, it was the fires that killed me quite often. After using like 3...4 heals, of course, but still, mid tier fire resistances really don't help much. Picking FP is a massive survivability boost Starts at 1st turret, ends at 3rd. That's about half of the ships length, maybe (probably?) a bit less than half. But that's the area hit the most. Yes I do. PEF up close is amazingly strong, and she loses a lot of that with range. Against BBs that is, against cruisers you are effective at any range. Speed is part of maneuverability, and for the tier it's amazing. Hell, even in t7 matches it's amazing. In t8 it gets pretty meh / average, but for you as a t6 there are far bigger problems to worry about in t8 matches, you are just far too outclassed in everything that matters (like health, armour, weapons) Pef's not a dreadnought, only dreadnoughts get those "turning on the spot" radii. And yet she turns better than I had expected of a ship with this length, I'm always surprised how tightly she can go. Reinstalling everything, so I'll have excel in about an hour or so... Will post the statistics then (Maplesyrup finally updated) It's 2 month period, PEF ofc has only 3 weeks in that period, but seeing how number of games played in it already massively beats most older ships in those 2 months... that sample size will do. Hint: it has the highest hitrate even beating Warspite (not by much, but still beat it) I pretty much haven't played PEF outside of randoms. Sprints don't interest me - too much effort for no prize at the end. And I already got her snowflake in PvP, had no reason to go for co-op. That permaspotting - 1st of all are you using concealment? 12.58km is pretty darn good, and even tho I think the 0.8.0 drop to 13.16 will hurt quite a bit it's still perfectly workable. And, rather obviously, it's not like you need to rush through open water to wherever you want to get. Use concealment like islands to your advantage. With PEFs speed being unusually high for the tier people don't expect you moving as fast as you do, you can often catch them out completely unexpectedly. The distance I usually try to get is around 8...10km, relatively often going within secondary range (so 6...7.6km) in a 1v1 or 1v2 case. And, of course, having some allied ships in the area never hurts. Actually, for a decent example of this "playstyle" check the Aerroons vid on PEF. Note how early on he's kinda far and focusing on cruisers, but as soon as the chance appears he uses islands to get closer and stays at that sub-10km range for most of the game firing at whatever presents the opportunity You yourself can shoot their upper hull. Also funny thing about low-speed shells - hits on the superstructure often are surprisingly damaging. And, unless it's a 1v1, you really don't need to keep focusing a single ship. One thing that always remains true in random battles - as long as all the ships aren't positioned in a single blob there's always someone giving you broadside because he's angling against someone else Why wouldn't I? I really enjoy playing this ship, at t6, at least currently, it's my 2nd favorite after Normandie. Well, easily favorite if there's a CV in the match. PEF really reminds me of battlecruiser-ish ships like Kongo / Ashitaka / Amagi, and those are some of my favorite ships to play in this game (never bothered with the pre-buff Ashitaka, but right now she seems amazing). No wonder I enjoy it so much
-
Oh look, it's him again! I see topic hasn't changed @LandlubberWookie_IRL why don't you play a cruiser then?
-
Nothing, actually. It just stays incomplete Slight chance that WG may add these containers in Arsenal at some point, but I wouldn't rely on it

2 very different games. Knowing one doesn't mean much for the other RN CLs is probably the worst line to start off on, it's the least newbie-friendly experience you can find out there. And the t5 is infamous for being kinda bad Those are citadel hits, they do 100% of the listed damage. Citadel = the machinery (engine) and magazine spaces. Lets take a t5 BB - Kongo - as an example (dmg given is approximate, may differ +/- a few points due to rounding) AP dmg 10 000 Citadel hit 10 000 Penetration 3 300 (1 650 saturated / 1 000 on DDs) Overpenetration 1 000 Bounce / Shatter 0 HE dmg 5 700 Citadel hit 5 700, can start a fire Penetration 1 880 (940 saturated), can start a fire Overpenetration / bounce impossible Shatter 0, can start a fire In port (right side, below captain / above ships stats) you have armour viewer, check your ship in that. Basically you never want to give your broadside to enemies, it's the easiest way to get wrecked. At the same time it's not like angling in a cruiser, especially a RN CL, matters much, you'll just get wrecked at weird angles no matter what. At least for now, as there was some mention of WG planing to buff CA armour to reward angling in the near-ish future Apart from angling there of course is dodging. Speed up and down, wiggling the ship left and right, turning under the incoming shells (at least I find turning under them to be more effective than turning away, could be false tho), stuff like that

It already has 2.0, if I'm not mistaken the only BB with higher than that is the Yamato at 2.1, and that 0.1 is a very small difference AP on the 419s is amazing, absolutely worth using. On the big guns amo isn't the problem, it's just that 419s straight up outclass them Neither of them has the British sAP which alone is already more than enough reason to pick Conq over them.
-
Honest recommendation - take those 2 together Manual secondaries are not worth it on t6 ships, replace that with CE

Do you find in port GUI even less responsive than usual lately?

Statistically Conq is the weakest of t10 BBs, and with WG already thinking of nerfing it they will inevitably have to buff it overall in the near-ish future. Just because it "feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelz" stronk doesn't mean it actually is And before you go "but muh dmg and survivability" - it's dmg mostly consists of fire dmg on BBs making it pointless, if it was possible to look at it as "% targets max hp" Conq would be last by far / it's survivability comes from every playing the ship from 20+ km range thus never dying, and this is clearly proved by other stats like potential dmg, spotting dmg and hitrate Sure you do, and my most played ship is a pink pony Either that or you're proud of the classic "100+k 40% WR I burn them BBs and wonder why I lose" score

It's a Russian company, why would they change their language? Enjoy it being translated to something a little more convenient to you, they didn't have to do it.

Restarting the client fixed it for me, try that if you already haven't Still frustrating just sitting there waiting for it to finally load, as if it will...

You get its worth in doubloons. The hell are you whining about?

And what's their normal concealment, not just gun caliber? That too matters And firing range? Probably a part of it aswell Looking at just 1 thing doesn't paint the whole picture. -

Optimal build and ship for John Doe is what again?
wilkatis_LV replied to The_Finnster's topic in General Discussion
Since there's nothing out there as to how have spotters changed - could you enlighten us? Spent a few hours this morning trying to figure out that "complete change", and all I came up with was: Possibly faster, but that seems to be a global thing for aircraft right now Much smaller flight radius, 2 examples: Kongo 4.2km current vs 3km PTS Montana 4.2km current vs 1.2km PTS In this case plane actually goes further while taking off (something like 1.7km from the ship) and then needs to come back to the 1.2km point to start its patrol Previous point is compensated by increased view range Currently it's 15km LoS not required On PTS it's at least 15.7km, possibly more *Did not directly test if LoS is now required, suspect that it is* This is nothing but slight balancing tweaks to their numbers, not some kind of massive change / complete rework. And my point of "I don''t want my spotter to be shot down before its already short duration runs out so I run 2 of them effectively doubling its survivability" still stands, that's exactly why the skill needs to affect them too -
Impossible to acquire t10 ships, credits in arsenal are stuck in infinite loading

How many times do I have to repeat this - AP pen is an issue only if you are attempting to go through BBs main belt past 13km distance. Stop it, find a keyboard and MOVE CLOSER. What a shockingly phenomenal idea for a BB, isn't it? She is either the best, or 2nd best right after Warspite. It's a BB, every single one of them does that. Did you expect DD dispersion on it? 28 (29.5) kts - only matched by the 2 French BBs - and turning circle so tight for her size I had to ask LWM if she has re-checked her turning radius actually is as listed instead of way smaller (yes it is). HE - midships is pretty much "shatters only" zone with both armour belts + 50mm deck AP - angle instead of going bow-in, I'm amazed at how many people have been whining that PEF can't generally bow-tank BB AP. No t7 or below BB can So you massively misplay the ship and wonder why it doesn't work... What a weird coincidence
-
It's wowsft, but seeing how much they always get wrong... really can't recommend them For angles you can use this one: https://mustanghx.github.io/ship_ap_calculator/ But as it happens they don't even have 457mm AP listed for Conq
-
With the same general dispersion pattern that 0.2 sigma difference should be something like 2...3-ish % more shells landed from the same number fired. Of course, 419s fire 50% more every time.... Making this completely pointless.
-
Which is where that "single case of difference" comes in, and between those 2 QE is the winner there when it comes to getting pens instead of overpens
-
Which means you are hitting something differently, aiming high or whatever Same guns & amo hitting the same spot in the same way = same results Single case of exception -> shell leaves the ship between 0.015s and 0.033s after arming the fuse In this case QE will score more pens than Warspite as the 2nd just overpens Unless, of course, they don't actually have the same guns & amo at which point your point here was irrelevant to begin with
-
Some kind of a hidden advertisement?
-
He's talking about buffing not nerfing the ship. Scoring more overpens doesn't exactly qualify for that Just giving at least some point to 457s would be a great improvement, right now it's 30mm (well, 31mm) overmatch... and that's where your pluses end, 419s are just better at everything else
