  1. Is this another thread crying "Give me back my AS CV, me too bad to play an actual CV setup!!1!!11!", hmm? At least seems like it is. Also:

    Clan page

Maybe in the future, I'd guess they would implement something like that. Currently if you want to check out clans, their buildings, members and so on you can do that in-game through the clans tab

    Nerf the Conqueror ...

Oh look at that, you finally realized what I wrote like a million times already! Good for you! Hour by hour we are making progress of you understanding exactly half a sentence more! Guess that's better than nothing. Don't want the Yama because of her overmatch? Ok, go with ANY OTHER SHIP THAT HAS FLAT ARCS. Jesus. By eating carrots I have concluded that apples don't taste like roses. A.k.a. by lobbing long range shots through the deck I've concluded that you can't hit the citadel at close-ish ranges through the flat stern. Perfect logic right here, 10/10 My comparison is that both have the same style of citadels (a.k.a. submerged) yet one was never a problem while the other is somehow a massive issue. Your comparison is that a BB who's 2 tiers higher can citadel the Amagi more reliably than a BB who's the same tier as Conq can citadel him. Altho you probably still don't get the difference, do you? At the test where we smashed an apple with a sledge hammer we concluded that this glass is bulletproof. That's your reasoning Of course it's not Flamus fault, that's not what I was saying. It's just that it started around that time, quite possibly with it. And yeah, the game probably will need some rather drastic changes (like the fire duration on CAs and DDs - that's a pretty nice one) to get potatoes to stop spamming HE at everything. But then again WG balances it around potatoes, so if potatoes want to spam HE WG will probably encourage it... Well that's why we have tradeoffs. If you are balanced (as I assume tier 10 CAs are) - if you gain something, you should maybe lose something for it. And would those couple of hundred meters (I'm not sure how much Moskva would get, Hindy is like 300m worse?) really make that much of a difference seeing how low can some others get? As I said - concealment's fine, just that they forgot to increase detectability by air while increasing surface detectability. An interesting detection idea to play around with. Citadel - other ships before RN (and US BB buffs) had submerged citadel, so in my eyes - submerged citadel is fine, what should go is those 63mm sections. Also I'm fine with normal heal (altho it would be sad to see a nation specialty go like that, it would be like taking away AA from US ships (maybe a bad example with the low playrate of CVs lol)) but then give Conq adequate armour and, as you said, more health so it can actually tank something. This heal simply requires patience and, well, at least some knowledge how to work around it, and clearly people like El2aZeR dislike that they have to "think" while dealing with a target Well, I automatically compared CV to CV and surface ship to surface ship. In case of Saipan - you can have no clue what you are doing with a CV and still come out reasonably good, especially against those not-so-skilled CVs. Even against someone who's "a bit below average" Saipan player tends to be much harder work than anything other matchup I can think of (admitably - I've never played CVs above 8, and that same 8 was in PTS). And of course there are potatoes playing Conq, they are there since the day 1 it was released. There always are those who just free xp to the new tier 10 to start inevitably failing in them immediately. But the mass hordes of those who actually are grinding for it are still on the way And yet there are people who instead of facing arguments of the opposing side just cry that they will ignore them and crawl up in their snowflake safe zone...

None. Please stay at tier 1, never go any higher. Thank you!

IJN CV vs USN CV with air superiority

Zuiho TBs can crossdrop, Bogue can't. Especially useful against DDs, but will go for anyone. Zuiho DBs are far more accurate. Personally I'd pick Zuiho over Bogue any day, That "1 fighter squad is stronger than the other 1 fighter squad" is just not worth it.

    Your favorite T7 ship?

I personally don't follow Flamu so I didn't even know While doing the PA DD missions my only choices were KamikazeR, Gnevny and Akatsuki. Gnevny doesn't make for the greatest torpedo boat, which left the 2 Japanese ones. When I got tired of missing my torps I went guns blazing and man, that was legit fun. I think it was the 1st time I found playing DDs actually fun in over 1.5, almost 2 years since I stopped playing them
  7. The test ship has scored first blood. A test ship can not get achievements. Thus a first blood is scored, but no achievements received. Whoever kills something afterwards isn't scoring a first blood as that has already been scored. I mean, what I wrote there makes little sense, but if you can get it - it explains why
  8. wilkatis_LV

    Your favorite T7 ship?

Oooh, this is a hard one... I really like Nagato, but then again I'm actually enjoying my grind through Colorado, as few games as I've played in her... Then again, Hiryu is bae <3 And Southern Dragons camo is just too beautiful, probably the best looking thing in the game But Fiji's rather strong, and with the tier 7 MM she's a beast And then - I recently found out how fun it can be to play Akatsuki as a gunboat (yeah, really, I know it makes no sense) It's just a tier where more or less everything is good

    Nerf the Conqueror ...

Oh look, when I told you about the idea of going through the flat unangled rear plate you chose to test it by going through... the deck. Took me repeating the same multiple times till you yourself admitted it. Good job! You probably still don't realize the difference there, do you? That flat plate isn't a target for a long range shot, it's one for close to low-mid range shots. And the flatter the arcs the better the hit chance, can you understand that? I don't think I can make that explanation any simpler. Yet if you don't understand simple "hit this location" and simple "flatter angle here would produce a possible hit, higher angle would just go past it" you clearly don't understand what I'm saying. Hit Conq with 2 tiers higher BB than it is, with gun arcs as similar to Monty as possible... oh wait a second. By your logic I can prove that Conq is bad because I can wreck QE with the Amagi. Once again - much comparison, such wow. As I said - both have the same idea for citadel - it's submerged. Amagis citadel has never been seen as a problem, thus any other citadel with similar characteristics, a.k.a. - submerged - should be fine. If you want to complain about one - complain about all of them. Ok, I shut up about the cruisers, you shut your mouth about the Conq till you get it. Fair enough I literally explained to him (you all really) the best chance you have and how to get it, he simply dismissed it with "that's not how it works". Literally "shut up, my I'm unicorn, my stats make me smarter than you". If you want to ignore my advice - be my guest, fail as much as you people like. Just then don't run complaining that you have problems climbing over the castle wall while the gate i wide open next to you. No, no aaaand not. Let me repeat it one more time. Long run strategy: Fire AP to impair his heal as much as you can. Literally doesn't matter if someone else is firing at him or not. In your interests, of course, is just that he fires at someone else, but that's the case for every single opponent - better him killing your ally than you. Wreck his heal, disable his ability to regain massive amounts of health, kill him. Short term strategy (requires some things to happen): your teammates are firing at the Conq so you are not alone. His heal is on cooldown and you are at least reasonably confident that you all together can kill him before his next heal comes up (lets face it - we are not potatoes here, timing something as obsious as his heal for "I have the chance for 2 min now" shouldn't be hard) - as a BB you still will do more with AP, with everything else your HE on his 32mm plating will probably have more DPM + the chance of fires for extra dmg. It's not "rely on your team", it's "deal with his strengths to make him weaker or use the chance that your team is doing something for one". Competent BB players already used to switch for the correct amo type in BBs if the situation asked for it, that is nothing new. What is new is the potatoes spamming HE. And I can't help but notice it started after Flamus rant about BB HE (ofc, he was talking about something specific like single ship / ship line but we can't expect the average potato to understand that much). Of course, while he has a big voice in the community - it's not this large. But then snowball effect comes into play - large enough amount of BBs start spamming HE, setting everything on fire, knocking out modules. Other potatoes see that as an opportunity, try it, have some "reasonable success" with it, and so on. More and more join in. And we end up with massive amounts of BBs just spamming HE for no reason. Probably the most annoying meta I've played in yet. I'm not asking for all out concealment buffs, it's just that those 2 cruisers in particular might do with some tweaking. But then again, as you already pointed out - I'm not playing them in particular, I'm saying that they might need a buff as a BB player who deletes them, so what do I know. The concealment is fine imo. What should be accented more is his detectability by air - I saw that as a really interesting balancing factor that was already nullified with the surface detectability nerfs Conq got. When he was at 11km surface, Air outranged it by whole km. Now at 11.8km the difference is just 200m. It's supposed to be the balancing out weakness (at least as far as I understand it), make that go up to 12.8 ... 13km. Make it so it's not practically the same as his surface detectability. CV in play? Conq's spotted! Your ship has a floatplane? Conq's spotted! Would add much more meaning to those planes, as well as maybe giving more reasons to use that "spotter aircraft mod"? Conqs guns are derpy at range, I do like the ability to get in closer and get more accurate shots off. Or while brawling with another BB generally having the upper hand as far as "hiding between salvos" in concerned. Keep it stealthy as it is, accent the weakness of it more. This is literally the worst model that could be used for balancing, I really dislike it. The Payfast and Sapian are prime examples of it. As for Conq - those potatoes sitting back at long ranges really won't achieve much. After 16km (well, lets be generous and say 18km) Conqs accuracy starts to become rather derpy, and it's not going to help them. Also a point to note - all the RN BBs (well, at least from 5 up) seem to have their "comfortable battle range" just below the,so to say, normal fighting range of the tier (generally dictated by cruiser firing range). Of course, that's just an observation, not a fact. Well, thing is - masses of potatoes haven't reached Lion or Conq just yet, so we really can just speculate how it will perform for them. those few potatoes in their Conqs I've "cought" in my games with 'MM Monitor' have done extremely bad, often either not doing any damage or just suiciding like they're invincible so I'd say we still have a solid hope there

    carrier limiting

Ahh, I always thought those were missiles with a similar idea to torps or shelling from main batteries - single direction, hit or miss, or simply a lot of small damage hits scattering over some area. Because of my ex-job didn't really pay too much attention to the games development until the last spring, since when I've got like 2/3 of my current games played
  11. wilkatis_LV

BB, we can't tank for you.

Khm khm aircraft khm khm. Literally if there is even a semi-competent CV or you simply have a floatplane on your ship you can keep him lit up. Not sure why but people always seem to forget it. Also Conq can't just "turn around and run", it's still a BB, it still will take quite some while to turn Becuase that is EXACTLY what WG promotes BBs to do. And that's the "safest" way to play - you don't get hit, you don't take damage, you survive longer to *khm* do more damage (which they actually don't). And as we get back to the point... you can, but you have to be careful about this. You have to get the situation in your favor. And most of the potatoes really don't want to do it, they don't grasp the concept of it. This is the correct way to go. Yet this is a bit wrong. Even if you spec full fire prevention, so those fires go for just 35s -> 3 fires is 35% of your max HP. Yeah, you can heal them, but unless you are Nelson, Lion or Conq that will take you what -> 3 of your 5 heals to get all of it back? And you assume that the BB isn't going to be under fire or that period. 3 fires is nothing only for 3 ships in this game, they do really hurt others Obvious solution for this - divisions! Like, how about a DD who can drop smoke on you / in front of you so you can get out if sh*t hits the fan? Oh wait, teamwork OP, must nerf... Every other class generally stands a chance to get out. BBs rarely get one, and even then it's usually at the expense of another BB. Izumo, I think, would be a perfect example of this. She can bow tank like a boss, my personal high-score with her is around 4.3 mil potential. just 2 rules there - no HE, and no ships on her flank. Against HE your best chance is just to give a smaller target, but then again CAs and DDs are accurate enough to land those shells on you anyway.

    carrier limiting

Exactly what I was thinking of Really? Didn't even know there actually was something resembling homing missiles back in ww1 / ww2 era altho they could always just go with the "arcade game" angle Also obviously, especially if it can hurt those who desperately try to get over the border every game they play!

Display bug: Deep water torpedo for every DD :)

Any mods that could cause this by any chance? Anyway, I can see how this could give you a hearth attack

This is what pay 2 win looks like.

Plays tier 7, almost guaranteed to be top tier (like he is here), contributes nothing (probably died early or just sat back), then cries about something unrelated Enemy team has 2x Platinum and 4x gold players, your team has 1x platinum and 2x gold. Skill advantage is pretty obvious. And if you want to know what real p2w looks like here are 2 pictures:

    disconnections

No not really. Then again, a lot of people seem to be getting some kind of errors
  16. wilkatis_LV

    Confidence

From playing CB I can say that confidence in your ship / your performance in it matters a lot. I play BB, one of the earliest tactics that I played with my now ex-clan was to have a Hindy escorting me (you know, hydrop, spot torps, scare away the DD stuff like that). A confident Hindy player usually was right next to me or even in front of me, a not-so-confident one was hiding behind me, sometimes even so far that I had to spot those torps for myself as his Hydro simply didn't reach. Matters quite a lot.
  17. wilkatis_LV

What's the point of new Pan Asia line?

Quite simple - introduce another reason for BBs to stay back as far as they can and snipe instead of playing together with their team. I mean, teamwork OP, must nerf!!!
  18. wilkatis_LV

    carrier limiting

I mean, while we are talking about stupid ideas - how about homing missiles on all BBs that find the enemy ships themselves (spotted or not), do 10k dmg per hit (no reduction depending on hit type, flat damage always) and have like a 5 second cooldown before you can launch a salvo of... lets say 20 of them? Sounds good to me Oh yeah, almost forgot, of course we DO NOT introduce any countermeasures for them, that would just spoil the fun!

    Matchmaking

When your team has 1 less DD and enemies have all 3...4 radars of the match it can be Generally speaking the MM is not the main issue. It can help you or make it slightly harder for you, but it's not the deciding factor. As was mentioned previously - you do very little damage. At tier 1 I have 12k, which is more than you do at 1, 2 and 6. At tier 2 i have 20k which is far above what you get in any tier. Not even comparing tier by tier, the gap will just get wider. Also a rather low survivability (1 in 5 games) and despite you playing cruisers ad DDs - almost no spotting done. Those point at you probably just charging ahead, firing a couple of salvos at the first target that gets spotted and then dying. Also 0.47 kills per game is quite low, altho just lasthitting ships for the sake of getting kills really isn't needed You seem to do best in your cruisers, so for now probably stick with them. I mean, don't just 1-trick cruisers, but let them be most of your games played. Think more about your positioning and angling, think about how to do the most while dying the least. Of course, just scraping the map border in a BB isn't going to help either, try to work with your team Don't be afraid to stick in the lower tiers to learn and understand the game more before you progress higher up. It's easier to learn against weaker ships and not-so-skilled opponents, unless you prefer to learn it the hard way. And also look up some tutorials & guides on YouTube, if you have the time watch some twitch streams. It will help. Oh, yeah, force yourself to learn the habit of paying attention to minimap. That's probably one of the most useful "skills" to have Then again, by MM you might mean your teammates, and I'm sorry to say that there's nothing much to do. Expect absolute incompetence from most of them, and even then they will manage to surprise you every now and then
  20. Normal 20...30 second queue time, Typhoon clan loads in to the battle, gets surprised by some very weird tactics for which our positioning simply doesn't do but reacts and simply stomps the enemy. Post battle screens - turns out they are Gale. Much fair, such wow Even better MM than in random battles
  21. wilkatis_LV

    Expirience calculator...

Patch. 0.6.7 Claimed effect: "Economy Buffs for Everyone!" Actually: "Reward for battleships for 'potential damage taken' reduced by 75%" Pushing the game into the right direction Well, at least I got my high-score of around 4.3 mil before it

WG fix [edited]BB AP against DDs already

probably was just the first one who noticed, and answered that without even reading it, so here it goes... I'll be fair with you, before this thread I didn't even know that this kind of "double damage" bug exists, despite how often I tend to play. Thus I conclude that it has to be an incredibly rare one - similarly to how the one that fails to award you your ribbons is pretty rare. Or even how you can mount all the signals you like but you can load into the match without them because game decided so (and afterwards when you go to port you'd still have them mounted). And if it's incredibly rare - I'd say it's more the case of annoying when it happens but not really that big of a deal in the overall picture. Like 1 pixel being the wrong color in a 1080p image. You simply won't see it unless you look close enough for it to be a search for a specific case. Also I just thought - the guy saying that - it was the something something Mexican with the duck image, wasn't it? Or you just have 2 accounts? Oh that's far from outrage. Some random guy comes in and starts posting something about some random bug that hasn't been mentioned here even once. Completely off topic. Oh, or maybe you were the one with the claim of 11 citadels in one salvo with less than 11 shells fired? In that case I stand for what I said - replay or it didn't happen. I too can claim that I scored 56 citadels in 1 salvo, doesn't make it true, does it? Most often things like that can be easily explained, and I already gave an example of how it could have been acquired. Yeah, I guess you are that guy, ok, got it now. You don't need a replay for every funny thing, at this point it's just a bogus claim from you that I can easily explain with a simple in game example of ribbon stacking. Want to prove it - give us the clip. If you discuss thing "X" in one thread, you discuss it in that one not in another one. They may be similar, but if you want it to be part of discussion - you have to make it one by telling about it instead of just randomly starting to talk about something completely different No it wouldn't. That's literally the thing I regret the most about not including in that video. Your post battle result screens show you only what you already saw in battle. Example: if you have a mission to get 5 defender ribbons, you reset someone 5 times but get just 3 ribbons because of it -> you haven't done the mission as it will show you 3/5 ribbons collected. Same goes for shells - didn't get the hit notification? It's not counted. Basically these 2 bugs go hand in hand together, they both could be easily mistaken for each other in the same situation. It's an arcade game, I never asked for "realistic". If you want realistic - each hit, even an overpen, should check for systems damaged, wires and pipes cut, electronics that it might have passed through and thus destroyed and so on. A simple overpen, if it was lucky enough, could disable something very important on your ship with no problems. That's why it's an arcade game, and that's why the arbitrary "This shell has X damage and it will do Y% in this situation" is here Ok, you lost me there. See this is why we have quotes. I have no clue what you are referring to. I don't even play DDs, right now the PA DD missions is the first time I've played more than a couple DD games in a month since the IJN DDs were nerfed waaaaaay back. My tier 7 IJN DD was my first tier 7 ship, and I simply haven't played them for the last 1.5 or more years. Just do quotes man, this really is confusing otherways Yeah, whenever someone makes that suggestion I make the offer for them to go play tier one, but now Balck Swan screws up with his "I have to be spechuul, I have to be different"
  23. wilkatis_LV

How to get rid of rental ships?

You can't get rid of them completely, sadly enough. Your best chance is to filter for "Show only ships with captains", in which case they will be opaque and at the very end of your ships list. Admitably, all your ships with no captains will be filtered out, including premium ones
  24. wilkatis_LV

When will you fix captains voices

I'm guessing the answer is SoonTM I could understand them accidentally screwing them up for 1 short patch, and not introducing a mid-patch update to fix is as the next one is right around the corner, but cmon, this the 2nd patch now, not cool anymore
  25. wilkatis_LV

    Nerf the Conqueror ...

yet you always can get the answers within a few minutes, including specific screenshots, almost like your "hours long research" was just "lets quickly test this thing in particular for a few minutes" I'm not arguing with what makes sense. Your "shoot HE because AP doesn't make sense" doesn't make sense. I explained it to you multiple times, not my fault if you are too thick to grasp the concept. Explain to me how do you expect to hit a citadel located way ahead of that flat part when your shells are coming from a high angle instead of coming in flat? US BB will have to go through the deck to hit the citadel, there is no chance whatsoever they'll citadel a Conq through that flat plate. That's why I said Yamato with her flat arcs might. flatter trajectory would allow for the hit. As I said, literally 2nd grade mathematics. Oh no, shots coming down from the top don't reach something way behind the point of impact! I just drew this and asked to my 8 year old nephew "If this is coming here as the yellow arrows indicates, will it cross it's path with the red box?". Not to insult your intelligence or anything, but he immediately said "no, it will pass by without touching it". Then "But the green arrows?" - "Yes they would go through the red box". So if a 8 year old understands the concept, but you don't - I have some bad news for you buddy Point out where exactly I'm wrong. Doesn't AP reduce the heal? Do other tier 10 BBs have less armour? Can't you bring him down in both ways I have mentioned? Go ahead, I'm waiting Damn, a tier 8 BB gets citadelled by a tier 10 BB easier than a tier 10 BB does?! Noooo! I thought the lower the tier the stronker the armour! Mikasa has to be the stronkest BB in the game because she is the lowest tier, your tier 10s can't even touch her, 100% bounce rate!!!11!1! Much comparison, such wow I've stated multiple times I don't enjoy playing a ship that can and will get blept by some potato scraping the corner 500km away because he accidentally clicked his LMB. And yes, if I'm coming across a Conq in the Atago AP would be my amo choice. Also I've went up against enough cruisers in the Conq to notice a trend of how the results usually go. As I've stated multiple times - keep firing your HE, makes my win that much easier. Most comparisons thrown out are that she has better concealment than any other BB. As for those 2 cruisers I already said: For everything up to Conq you just have to hit the citadel, that thinner bow / stern is there on pretty much all BBs. The difference is that you have to hit Conqs citadel under the superstructure, as under turrets it has that idiotic 63mm citadel roof plating. And I've stated multiple times already that that's the part that should go, whole citadel roof should be the same 19mm They go against it, they fire some HE, he heals them, laughs a little and then kills them while they are raging in their incompetence. Pretty much. They are literally ignoring the castle gate and trying to climb over the wall, and getting angry when that's not quite so easy It's the indication that he's being a [censor] who's ignoring others because "his stats are better". Pretty much the case here. Some ships work for you, some don't. Just because I have 62% WR in Amagi doesn't mean she is op, and just because I can't make Monarch work - doesn't mean the ship is bad or underpowered. And guess what, going by recent averages (much better indicator) wasn't Conqs stats the worst of all BBs apart from his DMG as he feeds mostly on BBs instead of cruisers? And jsut wait for potatoes to reach it in masses, those stats will take a nosedive down even further. 75mm of HE pen at tier 3 & 4 is ridiculous, there is a reason why most lines get their "specific line traits" (like German cruiser HE pen or German DD hydro) at tier 6 or later. A typical WG oversight, just wondering why that hasn't been fixed yet
