    So you're saying people should punished just because they made the mistake of actually picking a cruiser? I have deleted (and been deleted myself) enough bow / stern on cruisers to know that there really isn't such thing as "letting the BB to shoot his citadel" - it can be hit at any angle despite cruisers best efforts to prevent that.

    If you'd look at more than just flat number of battles you'd maybe see more. 53...54% of those battles are BBs. the rest are spread between other 3, with DDs and CVs currently being at about even ~10% each which leaves cruisers at ~25%. Now I already mentioned RN CLs being the only that are more or less usable bcuz of their smoke, ignore those, we're left with ~22%. Now lets look into what and when I played for them... DDs - I'm pretty safe to say that over 90% of my DD games come from when the game was just released into open beta as, up to tier 7 where I'm still at, it was the first line I played. Crusiers - ~9% of that is Atago which I played well over a year ago while grinding money for Amagi, Izumo and eventually Yamato. That leaves us with ~13% of my games, almost all of which come from Omaha, Cleveland and Furutaka - Furutaka was my first t5 cruiser, and I got my Aoba so recent that she's still partially stock, Omaha and Cleveland followed immediately after Furutaka, but I can't have unlocked the Pepsi much more than a month ago, and still have just 5 games in it. Conclusion? I used to play cruisers, but don't do it anymore. Apart from some campaigns / missions of course - and those few games are enough for me to question why would anyone want to play them in the 1st place. Dislike Flamu, Jingles is far from educational, and so on. I liked Aerroon but sadly enough he doesn't really upload anymore. Being farmed? Apart from mispositioning my BB and to my surprise finding out that there is a Neptune / Minotaur nearby there really isn't much farming going around...

    Personally didn't like Leander, Fiji's great as long as she's not seen. Haven't bought the Edinburgh - she's a 8, so she'll meet 10s constantly, doesn't sound too fun. Atago I used to play a lot, these days I take her out just for some specific missions if I need to. Pepsi's great as top tier, usable as mid tier and beyond useless as bottom tier. Myokos - Atago is a better version of them, and I have Fiji for 7 - why would I play them. The french seem to be reasonable, but I'm getting through the low & mid tiers so quickly that I'm probably jsut missing most of the horror which I'll run into at 7 & 8. It's just... just no. Oh, yeah, also russians and germans... Russians require IFHE up to t8, and as I carry the commanders through the line that would require me to retrain all the skills at some point - useless expenses. And Germans? Yeah, I'm not playing Nurnberg. I don't think I've seen any other cruiser deleted as often as that one... No thank you. DDs? Stealthier, more mobile, much smaller target to hit. Not quite high health targets, but that high health helps cruisers only as much as it takes for BB to score 2...3 citadels in 1 salvo. Well, Scharn and Gneis are probably the 2 hardest BBs to hit bcuz of how low in the water they sit. There is almost no hull to go for. Also I like the saying "if you can't hit you are too far away". Obviously RNG can have you enough for you to miss a flat broadside target at 5km, but that's just 1 in a 1000 shot (unless the RNG decides to be a d**k) I genuinely feel like cruiser is a failed cross-breeding of BBs and DDs. You are big, but squishy. You are mobile, but with a citadel. Your guns are right in the middle between both caliber trends. And so on The Project 66 (Moskva) was what people would call a Battlecruiser... except for all the "balancing" she has like the weakest bow / stern of tier 10 cruisers, and that ridiculously high citadel. As a BB player I saw every Moskva in CB as nothing more than a damage farm, almost every hit would be a citadel This one is probably what I myself see as the biggest problem. Like, I'd like to think that I have a reasonably good understanding of what & how in the game works, so I can explain stuff to people. When someone asks me how to know what range you would normally fight - the answer is that it's determined by cruiser max range at that tier. Take 8 and 10 as examples. At 8 cruisers generally have firing range around 16km - pay attention to the elongated fights - most of them happen at those ranges. Cruisers can fire, BBs don't go any closer, only DDs are running somewhere in the middle. Now take a look at tier 10 - cruisers easily do 20km. And thus your "normal" fighting range for tier 10 battles is around 20km. Now, what happens if you put a tier 8 cruiser with his 16km range into a battle where everyone's firing at 20km? Or an even better one - put Monarch with his 18km in there. "No battle performance" I'm not talking about the number of cruiser played, or rather - lack of it, I'm talking about what's the point to even play cruisers? Even if you take away the part where BBs are good at killing them, most cruisers still are quite... umm, pathetic to be fair I'm not sure how the games were on lower rankings as we (I mean TDM back then) flew through them quite quickly, I spent almost all of the CB time with TDM and ADRIA in Typhoon where I know quite a few people who wouldn't have said no to the ability to have 2nd BB in the team. Ranked is just a massive farce right now, overflown with clueless Depritzes, Bismarks, Kidds and Loyangs. And it also shows how "fun" and "enjoyable" it is when 5 of 7 ships are DDs. Exactly this. When the current draft system was introduced in League I remember people saying it's going to be horrible for mids as you'll have to wait for an hour in queue to maybe get a game (which initially they did ) but soon enough other non-support roles got more popular as those players dispersed around. Limiting BBs AND DDs to 4 per side (3 would be... "too much" if you know what I mean) would definitely be a good change.

    it was originally set for 30th December, and the countdown was always going for that ( no matter was it 5, 4 or 2 days, or as it right now shows - 19 hours) 10:45 29.Dec + ~19:00 = ~5:45 30.Dec Missions change at 6:00 which is what 5:45 would round to, so everything is exactly as it should be (times given in CET) Just noticed I had written January not December in the previous comment, simple typo there

    Teamwork? In this game? Not sure what you are playing, but in WoWS there really isn't anything called "teamwork", there are just ships that you are not supposed to shoot even tho they get in your way

  10. All kinds of turrets, barbettes, torpedo launchers, guns - even if you hit and destroy them, they don't get removed from the ship - you can keep hitting them again and again. If the ships "surface" is covered in them - like Yamatos superstructure with all those secondaries and AA guns or Atlanta with all those turrets and AA batteries - you'll have to hit the hull or lob the shell in between them do do some damage. And yeah, it's probably the most illogical thing in this whole game.

    There is just one kind of SC - the normal SC that drop you 100 ramming flags or Spotter Mod every time. What you call "Christmas Gift SCs" are a visual bug-ish thing. Basically when you get a premium ship in a gift that you already own you get rerolled to another - different - ship, and you get that one in a container that looks like SC instead of looking like a Gift.

    For some reason I seem to recall 7 being irrevocable aswell in the earlier seasons? Can't be sure tho Currently we have +7 -6 stars every game, which leads to naturally climbing community. The same way as the #1 on the losing doesn't lose a star, the #7 on the winning side probably shouldn't gain one. This would be a very unpopular decision for the potatoes, but it would balance out the star earnings per game.

    IFHE on Chapayev or not ?

    Mogami is a tier 8, so I'd expect 9 out of 10 games to be in tier 10 matches, which means that all BBs you'd meet would have that 32mm armour scheme for which you still need IFHE. And as for when you meet lower tier ships - doesn't hurt to have that little bit extra, it helps you to go through some armour zones that you normally wouldn't like the Nelsons mid-sections 32mm plating. I mean, I'm not much of a cruiser player myself, all I can tell you about them is raw statistics and conclusions drawn from that, but from my limited experience of Cleveland and Gallisionere I definitely felt like both of those would have performed better if I had IFHE on them.
  17. I'm going to assume you hit the Yamato in her side midsection? Look at here in the port - it's covered in secondary and AA mounts (turrets). You hit them, you penetrate their armour, you knock them out - but those same as main battery turrets are 0 dmg zones for the ship itself. Well, pens on main batteries, barbettes, secondary and AA turrets, torpedo bulges (but not deep enough to explode in the ship itself) - those all would show up as pens but do 0 dmg to the ship. Also damage depleted areas would return 0 dmg from pens.

    But that would require skill based matchmaking. Currently without it we can say that MM assumes that same identical skill level for everyone (lets say that everyone is with perfectly average stats), and with Divisions obviously performing better than solo players (even if slightly) - putting 2 divisions in one team and 0 in the other one would create an unfair advantage. With skill based teams that could be worked around, but it's long since confirmed that it's not happening. Hell, even in Ranked we don't really get skill based teams, it's just "people who have grinded enough to share the same 5 rank bracket" disregarding if you got it in 10 games or 200 games. Closest we have is CB where we make up our teams ourselves, but that's not exactly MM doing it any more, MM just puts 2 teams (of usually similar rank) together (altho it's hilarious to stomp a bronze clan as a typhoon clan - altho presumably not quite so fun for the bronze clan put against them)

    I did, answer was something along the lines of: "We see nothing wrong, it most likely was just very skillful prediction of your position, good players can do that!" It's WG support, don't expect anything and you still will be disappointed.

    Exactly this. A division having high impact on the game doesn't mean it's going to be positive. Just because team has a 3-man division doesn't mean they are guaranteed a better win chance, the same way as that division can carry them on their backs, that same division can pull their teams chances down into oblivion.

    Problem with afk punishment mechanic

    Some long-ish time ago (doubt I even have any screenshots saved from back then) had a Missouri game where I scored over 100k dmg, my internet dropped for about 3 min, just as I loaded back into the game within a couple seconds the game ended, didn't even manage to start moving. Over 100k dmg, 0xp and 0 credits I have to say, when it happened I really failed to see the funny side of it As far as I know game has 2 kinds AFK checks - "distance moved" and either "guns fired" or "target hit" <- not sure which one of those two (also how would it check CVs then? never though of this). Secondaries and AA obviously wouldn't count as they are completely automated. It's extremely rare when you would manage to fail both of those without actually being AFK, so I'd say the AFK punishment system is doing a reasonably good job with some very rare and unlikely accidents here and there

    Are you telling me you don't like to have 1 less DD and 4 less radars than enemy team at the same time? I'd say it doesn't even have to be 10%, the difference shows up there really quickly

    I'd say being guaranteed to end up with bunch of "I made it to tier 2 so I can play a tier 8 BB now!" on your team bcuz of that could be seen as a disadvantage rather than an advantage
