Irrelevant to galemplay, isn't it?

Rewards for potential damage got nerfed in 0.6.7, right now they are laughable at best

Am I alone in thinking that any given ship's "Artillery" rating(1-100) should be split into separate "Main Battery" and "Secondary Battery" ratings?
wilkatis_LV replied to Jagdpants_666's question in Newcomer Questions
Those ratings are generally irrelevant, the only purpose they serve is you can compare your ship to an identical ship on the enemy team to see if they run everything the same as you or maybe different loadout / stock ship. Example: I've seen DD with worse detection range still have higher concealment rating. They're only useful for CVs to check enemy CVs Aircraft rating to get an idea which flight setup he's running. -
TL;DR version - shortly after arming torps still fail to explode, you can see it in the video at the end of this post For a bit more extensive description check the bug report: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/93538-bug-reports/?page=2&tab=comments#comment-2253916 Why am I posting this? Well, first of all - haha DDs, enjoy this one On a more serious note - if you have some replays showing this happening (but actually showing your torps hitting as duds not "my torps didn't explode so I think it might be that - you go check it out") or are interested in testing some other ships to see how widespread this bug might be - currently tested only on Kamikaze R, feel free to try it on other ships and post your results here. Some CV mains maybe can even try to reproduce such situation with TBs?

30 FPS, but yeah, it's something like that I reported it as a bug quite a while ago, and the answer was "oh, well that doesn't look good" I also thought it could be some lag issue, but it really shouldn't be
-
is the commander trained for that ship? Don't remember if it's a skill or perk (or whatever they are called) - might be that the captain has to be fully retrained for her for that to work

I bet it's just your friend not accepting the gift in his email. Also Support can take 1...3 days to respond, especially if there are a lot of requests at that time. You got blocked because you pulled back your money, as simple as that -
It should start at 2:50, if it doesn't - that's where the Kamikaze R is (clip is like 10...12s long for her). Red dots are the points where the arming indicator (triangle) appears (yeah, I went through all those videos frame by frame to mark it ) If you watch it all - torps arm either more or less on the marker or before it (extreme cases would be something like Kii or Graf Spee arming basically half-way to it)

Could you stop avoiding your own claims then? I'm asking this for what - 5th time in this post alone? Still waiting for you to point out those AA buffs you were talking about as well as citation for this one: Or could it be that you have nothing and it was just another argument pulled out of your a** with no basis whatsoever? I wonder... Still waiting -
I'm guessing you didn't watch it all the way through? Anyway, I spotted my torps hitting GC but not exploding in-game, that's why I went for the replay. Also you can use freecam (Ctrl+Shift+Backspace) in a live game to get different viewing angles, altho I wouldn't recommend it. Those first 3 clips - my point of view, aerial view and the sideways slow-motion - are from replay. After that you can see me testing in training room - that's a live recording (hitting Yamato, Hakuryu, Midway) not a replay.
-
Game is a replay (even tho I spotted it in the live game - that's why I went back for it). All the testing / reproducing is a live recording not taken from a replay
-
Damnit, I looked at just the first clip and took my guess from there So the distance ratio is about 4.5 to 1.... Screw it, I'll just overlay those 2 to see how much he moved (should have thought of this earlier, haha). Well, apparently not much (recommended to play on something like x0.5 speed as that 5s clip goes by quite fast)

Stop playing during the EU night, you'll have 2...5 BBs per side during the day. Also yeah, if you start dodging when the shells are already on their way you're doing it way too late, and it's pretty much your fault at that point for getting deleted bcuz "me show brodsid me have guut firing against he" Kite, be already angled before he fires so you can actually try to dodge instead of just showing me a slightly more angled side, stuff like that. Stop crying about BBs, play some yourself. You should quickly recognize what do cruisers do to make it annoying for you to hit them oooh, pulling the big boy pants on I see It's a good balancing strategy bcuz your viewpoint is completely one-dimensional. Yeah, ok, you play DDs too, not just cruisers. So you probably know the CA/L vs DD matchup from both sides. But you are clueless to anything that has to do with BBs or CVs, as you look at that only from the point of view that interests you regardless of the game balance You are literally going "I want all the good stuff they have, but also to keep all my good stuff, but pls no drawbacks at all mkay?!" - and surprise surprise that's not ow it works And now back to Could you stop avoiding your own claims then? I'm asking this for what - 5th time in this post alone? I think I linked the other video at the end as recommended, anyway, there I’ve shown testing of that green line. For DDs it’s accurate (for all launchers but I’ll go into that below), while it varies for cruisers & BBs - with those torps arming before they reach the line. Well, you can see in the video that there was enough distance between me and GC. He basically had to cover half of the range torps would need to get there and activate, so...unless he can do 34kts in a turn... Also same as previous answer - I do have some proof the video recommendation should be at the end, but here’s the TL;DR version - launching middle set is accurate on the middle, launching bow/stern torps are accurate on their respective ends of the arc. If aimed off of the “good zone” at worst DD torps might arm right before the line, but for them that indicator is accurate. Worst case I’ve seen is Kii - arming about halfway to the line. But that’s exactly the trend - if the line is incorrect torps will arm before not after it And those ships (generally) happen to be BBs and CA/Ls It actually renders an ellipse for all your launchers not a circle for the currently selected. And off-center launchers (on DDs) still arm on the arc or right before it. If memory serves me right there is no ship whos torps would actually arm outside the indicator, if the indicator is wrong torps simply arm before reaching it

1. Description Dud torpedoes Torpedo arming indicated by the appearance of the triangle, right? If the torpedo strikes a target shortly after arming it doesn't explode Confirmed on: Kamikaze R, still should test other ships armed with torpedoes 2. Reproduction Preferable distance: right outside the torpedo arming zone, just enough for the triangle to appear Launch torpedos at target 3. Result Often-er result: torpedos hit the target, but fail to explode Rarer result: torpedos go partially through the target, still failing to explode 4. Expected Result Armed torpedo hits a target - torpedo explodes and deals damage 5. Technical details: Bug first spotted on version 0.6.15.1.1 on 10th January around 12:45 CET Bug easily reproduced multiple times in training room that same evening Original replay: 20180110_134607_PJSD026-Camo-Kamikaze_08_NE_passage.wowsreplay Some extra points: Video showcasing this bug: Link to related thread in Gameplay section (possibly / hopefully contains extra information such as tests with other ships from other players):

So then you don't ask for realism, but you ask for realism? Decide already, you are literally changing your position for every post you make Citation needed. preferably from me as you point out me as an example. Altho I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for you to find something even remotely related to it... In other words you were giving too much of a target, BB fired at you, you reacted to it and tried to turn away thus a) making your thin armour thick enough to arm the fuse, as well as making yourself a longer target on the shells path or b) presented your weakest armour at such angle that it could be easily penetrated, but that shell instead of going back out through that same kind of armour plating would now internally bounce and do more than enough damage to you when it goes through some actual armour layer (like your citadel). If you start dodging when someone's already firing at you - you're way too late. Yeah, stern-on citadels happen. That's called RNG and overamtchable sections on citadel roof. Also, was it your point that the AP shell in reality wouldn't get to bounce internally bcuz the stern wouldn't be empty? If your armour wasn't thick enough to arm the fuse - you'd have to hit something big, thick, heavy, important and so on to arm that fuse, going through that same kind of thin layer of a bulkhead or whatever wouldn't really change that, would it now? I'm answering every point you make, so I'm not sure if you know what "avoid" really means. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for you to point out those AA buffs you were talking about previously. Or maybe you got nothing? -

So your argument of "well that's not historical" is not you askind for the game to be historical? Go re-read your own comments here, you seem to quickly forget what you typed. Didn't ask, totally and obviously. I know they do. But I'm the one who's saying this is a GAME while you constantly spew your "muh realizm" arguments If I'm saying something about something - I have a point about it. You seem to not have one. Also lets use your own Still waiting for that pointing out of those massive BB AA buffs you talked about. Or was that just another comment pulled out of your a** with absolutely no basis and now when you ran into some facts you just will try to avoid it? And you're nothing but a floating oneshot in my way, loud mouth to yell and claim something pulled out of your a**, but so quiet and cagey when presented with an actual argument based on something -
SCs are quite rare, and ships inside them are even rarer. I mean, you can hope for it, but those chances are not promising Here's another tip: you've barely reached tier 6, why do you think you can play tier 8? General rule of thumb - don't buy (or buy but don't play) premium ships of higher tier than your highest silver ship of that type. Why you ask? Here's why: You simply don't know what to do up there, you have no idea about those maps, tactics, ships, playstyles, whatever else - things you would learn as you play the game. Unless, of course, you love being hated, raged at and called a potato or windowlicker each game
-
Yeah, your interest surely is there just because you visited the ship and nothing to do with it being OP... Cross your fingers she drops from a SC, she shouldn't and hopefully never will be for sale again

That's not a single shell tho. Why would I wast a full salvo if I can kill you with 1, maximum 2 shells? But hey, historical realism is your argument, so why are you suddenly against DD citadels? You can't have just the part that would benefit you Because I've already talked about that in... at least 5 other threads? 484 posts, you shouldnt be exactly new to forums. Let me explain it specially to you one more time. Broadside DD = overpens. Angled DD can be pen'd. How? Lets say I'm an Amagi (t8, 410mm guns) shooting at the lowest tier DD I can meet - some t6 (16mm armour plating). That's way too thin, right?! No. Guns that are 410mm or larger cal need 68mm armour to arm their AP fuses (ha 68>16 your argument already failed - shut up an read on). 410mm guns can overmatch 28mm of armour - clearly more than 16mm, so there will be no autobounce even at extreme angles. So now - it's a simple triangle at this point. Calculate it and you get that if my 410mm shell strikes that 16mm armour at an angle of at least 76.4° away from perpendicular its fuse will arm, and as you can imagine at that angle the DD is lengthwise against me - giving my shell more than enough time to stay inside of him instead of overpenetrating. Add the vertical axis aswell and you will need even smaller angle to accomplish the same. Clear enough for you? Clearly showing that even you agree it's a non-issue and not worth talking about. By this logic please start campaign to remove stealth-torping from the game. Torps can nuke a ship in 1 salvo, and DD often doesn't need to be seen to launch them. Oh look, again with the "muh realizm". It's. A. Game. The only pattern I see is bunch of floating citadels having their knickers in a twist crying about BBs. Also your own "BBaby" cryers have proven to fail miserably by instantly assuming anyone with any complains is immediately a BB - but then you check just to see someone who actually plays DDs or CA/Ls Why? Doesn't fit your point? So you are calling yourself "people like me"? That argument is some potatoes expecting realism in a GAME exactly like you do. Which is exactly what you ask for, except when it doesn't fit your ideas, of course. Duds. Realism baby! There's a list of all the buffs BBs have received since the release of the game. Go ahead, point out to me that big AA buff you are talking about. I hope you'll pick the one where Myogi got her 1.2km AA buffed by 8 dps, as it definitely was much buff, such AA I'll just quote myself here -
Same as Hosho is t4 for IJN I'd expect Hermes to be t4 CV wherever RN gets their line. That name tho... Sad she didn't have any sisterships to chose from, especially for a CV. How long would it take for people to start calling her HMS Herpes? An hour after the announcement? Maybe two? The release day? Yeah...
-
Each time you have a question "Why?" - at first answer "Why not?" Don't have a good answer for the 2nd one? That's your reasoning for the 1st one. Works vice versa aswell, of course, whichever of them is asked 1st.

Ok, give DDs their citadels back. Quite sad I can't blap them with one shell. Also every single thing you mention can be explained with these things called "game mechanics" and "game balance". *Firing while undetected and capable to do full speed at the same time - impossible to retaliate regardless of a target. BBs actually can still stealthfire right now - if you can explain to me how you can reliably retaliate to them doing so, show a practical example - that surely would also serve to prove my point about that same for DDs and CA/Ls wrong, right? *Oh yeah, a BB getting 5 dps added to his 2km AA is such a massive buff! Slight change to increase the self defense capability by one extra plane shot down every few games where you actually meet a CV. *Giving ships non-flat sterns, multi-level decks, sloped sides and all kinds of other visual thingies - ships are modeled after historically built ships as well as ship development projects that never made it to shipyards. Some ships had citadel armour that wasn't simply a flat deck, and if you mean German BBs - IJN ships like Amagi and Yamato had turtleback before Germans were even introduced. *Bigger gun = bigger damage, slower fire rate (variable ship-to-ship depending on ships equipment like DesMemes autoloader or US Heavy AP as examples for those variables). Then, bigger ship / heavier ship = more health. So what happens when more damage hits less health? Surely you can figure that out yourself, can't you? And BBs actually getting around 30% hitrate clearly shows that no, they wouldn't expect realism in a game
