[PSA] Giulio Cesare Testing and Premium Ships Status
wilkatis_LV replied to Sub_Octavian's topic in Development Blog
@Sub_Octavian Here's an idea - you can approach GC the same way you did with Hood -> you nerfed Hoods fuse time, called it a buff, and players having no clue what / how changed were perfectly happy with it agreeing that it's a "buff". Similarly you can say that moving GC to t6 is an economy buff - it will now earn more credits and XP! -
Gameplay purposes. Exactly that simple. As I said - make radar more realistic, sure. Add that LoS requirement, but don't forget everything else the radar had, just like I listed. You'd love that, wouldn't you? Also forgot to add that practically every high tier ship, and probably most mid-tier ships should / did have radar. Just as a bonus. Is that a "tap a button and everything is magically fine" or is it a "work quicker, it's goining to s really fast!!!!" situation IRL? I wonder... I assume you mean the radar changes? No, no, that's just more realistic - exactly like you are asking it to be! Did you know that they generally don't test stuff on live server? CV rework is the 1st big exception I can think of. Everything goes through multiple layers of test servers before arriving to us or being cancelled. And for when - fairly recently Either way, this has been merged into the radar whine thread, so I can stop responding - there are plenty of others already doing that
-
It's not a premium. It's "early access" which will turn into a normal silver t4 RN CV with the release of the line in 0.8.2 I assume you mean getting them from mission? Lucky, yes. But less surprising if you follow the news Either way, with how many games you have played I really can't recommend you playing t7 just yet, you need way more experience or it will turn into a disaster for you & your teammates
-
No Partially, but not entirely. If you radar something with island between him & you - you can't shoot him anyway. You'll need other ships to do that. And I'm pretty sure quite often the reaction to getting radared is "ducking" behind an island as you can't shoot through them. Just being spotted isn't enough Because insta-repairing fires, floods and anything broken is super realistic. Or most other stuff we have in the game. It's a game for a reason I too would love a more realistic radar - range multiple times longer (unless I'm very much mistaken radars horizon (max view range) should be further than your normal view range / horizon), no maximum duration, a simple toggle on / off ability with no cooldowns between uses, no limited uses and so on. Would be great! WG tested it, doesn't work Anyway, there is a separate radar whine thread pinned at the top, go use that
-
They are not You can get the mission from either, just that there is a better CHANCE in the premium ones

Magic of forums. You copy something in from somewhere, it keeps that places formatting, everything you write after the copied part also gets this "new" formatting. If you use Classic / White (Default) theme the text will look perfectly normal to you, if you use Dark / Space it will be unreadable. Or the other way around if you copy in some white text like I did above. I'm pretty sure I could even write in the moderator red if I waned to, but that could probably get me a ban. Meanwhile this is written in bright green because why not. Possible fix - go to "Edit post" -> click in the text box -> Ctrl A -> Ctrl X -> Ctrl V -> below the text box there will be a small popup saying "Paste as plain text instead". That removes all formatting, should fix the colour.

Bugged XP or changed rewards or just high on planes?
wilkatis_LV replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
29 planes, that's 72.5% of a ships HP if turned into "rewarded damage". 40 planes shot down = 1 full ships worth of health in damage. Then the question to whom you did that 10k. To BBs that would be worthless, to DDs that gives you a nice % to add in. Then, of course, the practically nonexistant rewards from spotting & tanking. Couple XP points here or there. Stuff sums up in the end -
Fiji. Secondary build. Surprisingly hilarious. That's all I can say about that
-
I think you should start writing your forum posts in the forum instead of copying them in from wherever the you did. Certainly would make them significantly more readable for those who don't use the default / classic theme. Meanwhile enjoy this white text. As for the rest - has anyone ever read what you accept when buying a premium ship? You don't own anything, WG simply lets you to use it. You haven't bought anything, just sort-of "rented" it, WG still owns it. Also you have agreed that WG keeps the rights to change the ship in any way they see fit at any time without caring if you agree with their decisions or no. If you hadn't agreed to it - you wouldn't have bought the ship. That simple

“Strikes” happen. It’s super unlikly to get Ocean, couple months ago I had like 5 of them in a row while playing t8. Was it Matt Parker who said something along the lines of “people really underestimate how many and how long strikes constantly happen in a random distribution”? Oh, absolutely 100%
-
It’s just RNG - that’s how your matches rolled. Nothing particularly special And you can’t get rid of it, weather tends to add nice changes to otherwise very “typical” match, well, at leas uf tou’re not a pitato in a BB 20km behind your team

When is Tier 8 NOT going to be tossed in with Tier 10
wilkatis_LV replied to Ronin_Cahill's topic in General Discussion
In a 1v1 you should lose. However this is a 12v12 team game. Quite significant difference right there Number of battles rarely is indicator of actually knowing something or not. Most 8s do perfectly fine in t10 games. BBs have the same armour profile and generally the same or similar guns (at least caliber wise - 10s may have "better" amo), just that they have less HP DDs at mostly t8 seem to be stealthier than at t10, so you can make up for your lack of firepower by being better suited to avoid the enemy & having that advanced warning of him approaching Cruisers don't really care what tier it is, if you're about to be nuked it's just as likely to happen in a t10 as a t8 ship. Hell, being generally smaller could actually be seen as a survivability boost. Again - armour profiles and guns are already mostly finalized, just that your HP is a bit lower. Afaik CVs are screwed, but as the rework's still ongoing there's not much to be said here. I was recording MM for over a year from my games before my HDD died and I lost everything because hey, backing stuff up is for noobs The t8 MM I had over that time - from at least 300 battles played, probably far more (honestly don't remember the number, but I do play 8s a lot) was around 54% t10 games, 20-ish % t9 games and 26-ish% t8 games. While that's pretty damn bad (the only one arguably worse was t5) it's nowhere near as bad as "everyone" makes it out to be t8s in t10 games are fine. Constantly being in t10 games for a more than enough battles in a row / almost in a row is where the problem lies -

Yes yes, keep listening to the misinformation given out by or "great" CCs, that will get you far. Any ship with 33+mm bow can bow-tank any ship in the game. Like, for example, GK with its 60mm bow. What a unique idea for VMF BBs, aye? Ask those CCs why don't they show you how massive VMF BBs citadells are, and how quickly they'll be deleted if they dare showing even a bit of their side. Funny how everyone skips that part There are tier 1 ships which can bounce Yamato on their main belt. Funny, aye? Also let me introduce you to couple more ships in the game: Konig Albert (III) - most of the bow is 120 / 150 mm thick Nassau (III) - between 1/2 and 2/3 of the bow are 80+ mm thick Kaiser (IV) - about 1/2 of the bow is 120 / 180 mm thick Konig (V) - at least 2/3 of the bow are 150mm thick And while you can damage their upper bow, unlike the russians, these ships are practically citadel-proof. Especially comparatively But hey, who needs facts when you can have a good old whine about something, right? -
It's a straight up gun upgrade, and 35k at t9 isn't that much to ask for it. I'd go still pick it, why not. Also if I'm not mistaken 419s should have slightly (like 20-ish mm across the board) better AP penetration

Most CCs are ridiculously unreliable regardless what you are talking about. Even the god and savior Flamu to whom all the brainless sheep must follow is wrong / incorrect / misleading so often I find it amazing anyone actually listens to his nonsense Oh yes, right after the Christmas the drop in Stalingrads performance was magnificent. This is the moment where I'd like to say thank you to all the useless potatoes who attempted to play their Stalingrads thus boosting my performance ratings like PR in it significantly Except that you can't compare those same stats there to what is the "norm" for players who have her. Unicums playing at unicum level isn't exactly surprising It's really not. But hey, keep following CCs, they'll make sure to avoid telling you if any weaknesses the ship might have because talking about one single thing that happens to be strong can create controversy which then brings in more views = more $$$! Feel free to re-check my posting history. I've been calling GC out since the very beginning. Yes, buying ships because you know the game will be regardless totally removes the point of buying them, aye? Just the last one? WG would never do that -
Well, I doubt anyone knows more about it than @strangers123, I've seen him accurately calling out where enemy ships will [most likely] be spawned before the pre-battle timer has reached 0 The one I sort-of know is that if you are the highest tier division in the team you get the center spawn. Not sure how it works with multiple divs of the same "highest tier" tho. COuld do something to do with ship classes, as while playing in a div my BB practically always is spawned in center. Except for North-spawn Hotspot where you sometimes get 2 players of the div + 1 random in the center, and the 3rd division member (usually seems to be a BB) spawns on the West flank

Much higher reload, but at the same time significantly increased (HE) alpha (dmg) and accuracy

Idea for potential coal or free XP destroyer at Tier V
wilkatis_LV replied to hgbn_dk's topic in General Discussion
Going over those stats it seems meh, at least WGs not afraid of buffing weak ships (*klhm* GCs torpedo protection and fuse arming threshold *khm*) -
Yes, that's where the split starts "Heavy / Light" refers to cruisers guns, not anything else. 203mm and larger guns are heavy cruisers, smaller (usually around 152mm) are light cruisers
-
Even if your cruiser has torps it's never your primary weapon. It's there just for the rare unlikely chance when it might be useful, or for flushing smoke. Yoloing to torp someone will just result in you dying a lot without any good reason behind it US cruisers have a completely different playstyle to the IJN / MN ones. Also might be argued that they're harder to hit with due to their high arcs / slow shells, but that allows you to use cover (islands) more effectively

Republique secondary build now best?
wilkatis_LV replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
Oh, this is so true. Just look at VMF BBs as shown right now CCs: OMG THAT BOW ARMOUR THIS IS OP Actual ships - very strong bows, MASSIVE citadels most likely leading to easy deletions as soon as side is shown An example: the t5 iChases vid: omg omg omg 38 & 75mm plating this will be so OP Ship in reality: citadel goes up to its DECK Honestly I'm losing hope in CCs. At least Jingles has remained true to his word - he's not there to tech stuff, instead he's entertaining. Most other CCs... Absolutely terrible -

And yet why is it that when the balancing mistake is ship underperforming, buffing it is seen as perfectly acceptable? Clearly that's not the same ship the player paid for! Why when a silver ship on whom someone may have spent Free XP bought with real money is overperforming it still can be nerfed? Either balance ALL ships, or NONE. Don't make a case of 99% will be balanced, but that last % - "naaah, you players can go yourselves and shove a big fat up your , it's a premium making its tier and tiers around it unplayable so sucks to be you"?! What happened to all the nice posts on reddit (by YOU) how this is just the 1st attempt to see how that would work, not the finalized point, that there would be more different tries with GC and other OP premiums before any finalized decisions are made? Or maybe you've finally completely lost it and will make BBs who don't touch their movement keys invulnerable? After all we've had endless complaints (<- listening to the community part right there, you already have an excuse for it) about BBs eating torpedoes, time to listen and make BBs immune! -

wilkatis_LV replied to Sub_Octavian's topic in Development Blog
Yes, give up before even really starting because OP st breaking the game by being amongs the best performing BBs when compared to ships 2 TIERS ABOVE IT is perfectly fine This was one good decision in a long line of st, and ofc you immedeately abandon it -
make all AA values public and not hidden

I wasn't sure if it was 0.4 or 1.4 so didn't mention the number -
Better internet? That's all I can suggest here going by what you've written
