The range is only worse if the Murmansk uses the spotter plane, which is only available for a limited period and the view is different so it is harder to aim. DPM is only relevant if you are hitting stuff all the time with all the guns. But I think my basic point remains valid, inexperienced players are not going to do very well at T8.

You are missing the point. The income is worse because you are not an experienced enough player to earn the income. Clearly your average damage in the Atago is too low to earn lots of credits.

Are you sure those 285 battles to get to your T10 CV were 'hard work' ? Obviously, now the kills and XP are not so easy to obtain.

Unfortunately, I am not suggesting a refund. I think the problem maybe that your expectations exceeded your ability at the time. Did you really expect to jump straight to Tier 8, a month after OBT started, and expect to do well ? Buying a premium ship does not guarantee success, otherwise this forum would be full of pay to win whines. You do much better in the Murmansk, and even though it is three tiers lower, your average damage in her is 10k higher than the Atago. Hopefully, others will learn from your experience, stick to the lower tiers for credit grinding.

Nice post Jester and a good counterbalance to some of the very negative views in this thread. I think the problem here is that people compare this game too much to WoT. I agree that this game needs to keep its beta tag for longer, but you need to think what Tanks was like at the same stage, rather than compare a relatively new game with a mature one. I also do not understand the comparisons with WoWP and the doomsayers who suggest this game will go the same way. This game is very different and is far more popular that WoWP ever was. I personally think WoWS has a great future, all it needs is time.

I'm also on the Kuma. You do need to be careful with it. Try to avoid exposing your broadside to BBs and CAs as it is easily citadeled. Don't go rushing in, be more of a support ship. Spam distracted BBs with HE, use AP on CAs you will be surprised how much damage you can cause. Only use your torps if the opportunity arises rather than trying to play her as a big DD. you can manoeuvre the Kuma, as its rudder response is good, use this ability to avoid BB salvos.

Agree, and also the stats do not show how many battles were played in a Division. I'm sure I saw one of those guys in a Division of two Iowa's the other day, they were the only Tier 9s in the battle. They massacred our T6/7 BBs and won the game for their team.

I think we can actually agree that far more people play WoWS, but I think it is not correct to compare the two. It would be interesting to know, for example, where WoT was at this stage ? However, I do think the game lacks content at the moment but I'm sure as this is added and stuff like CW comes the numbers will rise.

Any chance of some factual numbers to verify this statement ? From memory, when WoWP was in open beta there were 4k to 5k players online, on release day we had 10k on the EU server, however that soon dropped off down to the sorry state we see WoWP in today. As a 'veteran' of both games I personally think your statement is wide of the mark. WoWP never had anywhere near the numbers WoWS enjoys.

There are clearly more than 20k regular players. You probably need about 100k active players to support a population of 20K because different people play different times of the day.

A night time map would be great, but you would need a full moon and the Northern Lights, maybe one set around Fjords?

I was talking to a friend on TS the other day and he said there were not enough British Carriers to make a full branch. I knew this was wrong so did some research and came up with my own Branch. My ideas differ a bit from mr3awsome's What we know about ships thread, but this is what I would like to see : Tier 4 : HMS Eagle (1924) Tier 5 : HMS Glorious Tier 6 : HMS Ark Royal (1938) Tier 7 : HMS Indomitable Tier 8 : HMS Indefatigable Tier 9 : HMS Eagle (1951) Tier 10 : HMS Malta (the only 'paper ship' although the four ships of the class were actually ordered in 1943) I've based my branch on ships I actually like and basically tiered them according to hanger capacity. Grateful for constructive feedback

It is purely random. My worst ship is the Minekaze. If I was going to lose, it was always that ship, yet people say how OP it is. My favourite DD is the Clemson, could do no wrong in it. It is just a toss of a coin and pure luck most of the time.
