Aldramelech, on 13 December 2015 - 10:18 AM, said: But as was pointed out in an earlier post, The EU is not just England and Germany there are a hell of alot of other countries that are every bit as bad as Russia, in fact a couple that are probably worse, try telling some of our Greek members that they are wealthy, well off Europeans. Actually the average wage in Greece was more than double Russia in 2014. The point is that the cost of living in Russia is lower than advanced Western European countries, so almost everything is cheaper. You set your price to the market. MrFingers, on 13 December 2015 - 10:19 AM, said: stuff is as expensive for a wealthy Londoner as for a not so wealthy Lisbonner. No it's not. London is my home City, I go there all the time. I've got friends in Lisbon so I go there a lot too. Everything in Lisbon is cheaper than in London. The cost of living is massively lower.

Aldramelech, on 13 December 2015 - 10:02 AM, said: Yeah don't drag out that average earnings crap please, it bears no relation to real life whatsoever, I don't earn anything like that UK figure and don't many who do. It's an average. Likewise in Russia many people earn below the average. The point was the difference in price between RU and EU. It is not reasonable to expect the same price in completely different markets. Vogel, on 13 December 2015 - 10:00 AM, said: If you can't see the difference between these examples, there are no point in discussing it. Just for completeness sake: Beer price in London AND St. Petersburg are £2. But in London you have to pay for a shrimp coctail as well whenever you buy a beer, resulting in £8. Bundles are NOT the way to go to regulate prize/income differences. We can't buy anything from the RU shop and use on the EU server anyway, so that's a rather silly argument. Obviously you don't get it. So lets make it simple. Stuff is cheaper in Russia because they earn less money.
-
Well Don, I think that point is very arguable from a historic perspective !
-
Ok, why is it cheaper in Russia ? The average wage in Russia in 2014 was 410 euros. Average wage in Germany, 2,155 Euros, the UK, 3,164. Lets talk beer. Average price of a pint in London ? £3.80. What's the average price in St Petersburg ? £1.50. Us beer drinkers are being ripped off I want to pay £1.50.

Let's leave aside the fact that this new guy isn't Russian. My arguments are not pro or anti bundle from a players perspective. They are based on my experience of running my own business and why WG would go for the bundle approach. Of course, it's easy on this forum to garner positive rep by stating what you think people want to hear. I would like all players to be happy and for WG to offer a wide range of both bundled and non bundled premium ships. However, WG has to make money to pay its large number of employees and other fixed costs. If you have a product people really want, like the Tirpitz, then you want to maximise your revenue by upselling it. Let's say they had sold Tirpitz unbundled with a port slot for 30 Euros. To gain the same revenue as the bundled offer they would need to sell 44k ships. That is clearly a revenue risk compared to selling just 22k for the same profit. It's the same as selling anything, you the seller want to maximise your income, so you set your price at the highest point you think people will pay. In this case they throw in some extras to give an appearance of value. Of course I realise there are other strategies, like pile it high and sell it cheap, but to make that work you have to be certain of massive sales figures. Just one other small point. If WG are such a nasty greedy company, why have I got three ships in my Port that I was given free ?
-
Well we are not discussing a manager or head of Department. If you join a successful company, change things straight away and if it doesn't work you will be rapidly heading for the exit door. I'm sure MrFingers with his vast experience in commercial matters could send an email to Mr Anderson giving him, his advice. He can then balance that against facts like selling 22,000 Tirpitz bundles at 60 euros each. Probably with a 95% gross profit margin. That's 1,254,000 euros from one premium ship. From that perspective why change the policy because a few people are moaning on a forum ?
-
Obviously you don't have much workplace experience. There is no way you would come straight in at that level and say 'bundles' and then they happen immediately. At higher levels in large companies, guys with his experience get to know the business first before making changes. Despite what you may think, WG is actually a successful company.

Zao wont be good in the new patch when released
Hanszeehock replied to Master_Hentai's topic in General Discussion
Threads like this are based on DM info that is subject to change. 0.5.2 was not been finalised yet and will be subject to a public test prior to release. You really should wait for the final patch notes after the PT before commenting on changes. This is exactly why this info is not released by WG, because it is a work in progress and some changes may not make it through to the final version.- 87 replies

I looked him up. He joined WG 18 August 2015. In his 22 year career in Gaming he only spent 4 years at EA. Hopefully once he gets his feet under the desk we will see a change of approach.

Aslain's modpack includes a region changer so you dont have to reinstall the game. Then you just need a NA account.

WG are you trying to sink your own game?

Reported. Please don't bother to reply to this person. He obviously has mental health issues. -
I cannot believe that some people are now complaining about having to wait a few extra seconds to get into battle. Before this change there were plenty of players complaining about getting into battle after it started. I'm never late into battle now so I welcome this change. Just to be clear about the Mikhail Kutuzov on the live server. Some supertesters have been given this ship to test for balancing purposes. Supertesters are a helpful bunch and we would love to be able to answer all your questions about the ship. However we have been told we cannot say anything. This is for understandable reasons, mainly because there maybe significant changes as a result of testing before the ship becomes available.

Well they are festive bundles, so whatever they do it won't be a surprise.

It means those players are in a Division (or team) with the player(s) who have the same number.

So basically another anti bundle thread disguised as a poll. I use dubloons for port slots, retraining, captain skills and buying premium time and I used a lot to buy Warspite unbundled. We all get it and I'm sure WG EU get it - everyone wants more premium ships available for dubloons only.

Happy to agree. I suppose only the forum soapbox interests you rather than having a proper discussion.

Dont really want to reopen the whole flags debate because that is off topic. But I should point out you can earn flags without paying a penny. So not exactly P2W.
-
They don't use them due to the contrast. Red is used as a warning colour, green means safe. I was pointing out that on the colour spectrum in terms of light reflectance values they are quite close. So basically your premise is incorrect.

I agree, but not about Ducat. Happy Christmas. I can feel a New Year resolution coming on.

Actually red and green are quite close on the colour palette. Contrast is dependent on ambient light levels, so in low light levels it would be a very good camo !
