No, you get chat banned because people know the only payback report that actually has any impact at all is "misbehaviour in chat". -1 karma. Meaningless else if you haven't said anything. But poor sod if you greeted a red player or tried to coordinate and win the game in team chat. Sooner or later, it will hit you in the face. And I doubt compliments counter the effect. Have you ever noticed your karma going down while being chat banned ? Working as intended.

I got a 24 hours chat ban for "op as heck piece of sky cancer, that is wrong". Sent in an objection ticket, to which I got the automated reply "we are sorry you had to read this in chat, and as an exemption, they will yada-yada-yada". If I had been a community contributor on the other hand, the ban would have been gone even before the end of my stream.

Nothing to do for me right now (almost all X and the Saint Louis, and I don't feel like playing just to get the H4). It will probably be going up again when ranked starts. Well, that's what you get when you give out tens of thousands of Bismarcks to players who are already unable to cope with their Kongos in pve. But when WG limits these missions to the tier of the reward ship, they get flak for being elitist and excluding the majority of the player base.

You need to pick your ship accordingly. While high tier like Shima with 3*5 torps does sound tempting, it is the wrong choice. The torps do way too much damage, sinking ships quickly rather than farming hits. And with all the planes spotting (or outright killing you), sonar, radar, 5 dds per team,..., getting 10 hits is difficult. So it's best to keep it low. Fubuki at VI with 3*3 every 70 seconds. Or VII Shira with a potential 16 torps wall of skill. But that's the crux of the mission. Those that could use the port slot probably are not in the position to get it. And those that do have no real need for it. Surprisingly, I did it in a 7 vs 7 (with the Shira as low tier) late last night. I mean with so few targets around, I wasn't exactly expecting it. At least 10 torp hits pretty much guarantee you a top 3 spot.

You are missing the most obvious reason: money. It's been quite some time since you could play t6 in ranked. And even longer if you skipped the early ranks thanks to bonus stars. Haven't you noticed the influx of t6 premium ships recently (with 2 more in the pipeline) ? Plus all the ships already in the game. Yes, the lower you go, the more people can partake. But as ranked is pretty much the only content in this game that lasts for more than a few hours a week, quite a few people are playing it. And cursing it at the same time. Tier 7 balanced ?? Seriously ? T7 for ranked is pretty much burnt. Name me a t7 ship with radar. And now name me a t7 non-premium ship with radar. Plus the Saipan (and now Kaga). And all the above average dds like Sims, Blys, Lenin. My Grem stealth firing at 10k was op. But Belfast isn't. Sure.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here play on EU. You want karma ? Start streaming. For some reason, people like giving streamers +1.

Missions in EU are not meant to be finished by everyone. The completion rate can be as low as 0.28%, and WG has stated they are aiming at 3%.

Why would you want to get X ships ?

Anyone else thinks the map "Strait" is ridiculously unbalanced in favour of the northern spawn ? The small island at D6 (in conjunction with the bigger island) where you can park a bb and fire unseen at anything out in the open south of B ?! Alanis Morissette wrote a song called "Ironic" where she lists ironic situations happening to all of us every single day. The sad part: pretty much all of the things she mentions are not ironic. That's the tough part with irony. Recognizing it. And using it correctly. You have about 3 dozens games played in higher tiers. Maybe you were lucky so far, having had only the best and the brightest of players on the field. Play a few hundred more at X, and you will see the "irony" fading in your original post bit by bit with every game played. The average player quality is terrible. And that is still a very benevolent way of describing it. This is no irony. It is the truth.

The external xvm app helps. Prinz Eugen with 8k average damage ? New Orleans with 11k ? Tier 8 bbs with less than 20k ? There you have your targets. Only every 5th game, right ? Make them an offer they can't refuse. Or stick to my initial idea: punish the sh** out of their performance so that they either improve or leave. Being on the bottom is not 'magic'. There is a very real reason if you are: YOU. DID. NOT. CONTRIBUTE. ENOUGH. Simple as that. Yes, everyone can end up on the bottom half. I also have my shi**y rounds. But I do not make myself comfortable down there. As high tier, I see it as my duty to carry. Because I know those low tier cruisers will not win the game for me. We could start by not giving the bottom 4 players (or even 6) any exp or silver, only expenses (e.g. signals and maintenance). It sickens me when I am the first dead of a game, yet I still end up somewhere in the middle of the score board. Seriously, how effing useless are you when you play twice or thrice as long as me, yet you end up with less exp ??? How much intelligence does it take when you finish every game with 200 exp while other people are getting 2000+ to ring a bell ? "Hey, maybe I am doing something wrong, maybe I suck and I should improve. Or quit." People are dying their way up to X, and then they noob around there without having learnt even the tiniest bit about their ship or the game.

So I've been wondering: do we really need chat between the two teams ? It seems to me, most of the time it is used to insult someone (preferably the one that killed you) mock someone/the other team to cuss how stupid either team is give away friendly positions to the enemy And yes, I do count the infamous "gg" to the insults. Let's face it, 90% of the rounds are rofl stomps for either side, that hardly deserve to be called "game", let alone "good game". So what's left ? Greet someone you know, and perhaps a serious "gg" here and there. Both show your manners, but IMO are negligible in the face of the many misuses. Players are complaining about how toxic this game is, maybe it is time to draw some consequences and get rid of one cause.
