Cvs should be able to spot dds that one of the whole points of a cv. They should just leave the RTS version as it is and fix the UI like we have been asking for years and give some proper tutorials. Rather than sitting there wondering why no-one knows how to play or play against cvs. Also for all you dd players rejoicing about the rework, I hope you know that radar ships will have free reign once we are gone :)

You do know cvs are the hardest class to play in game right? So I think its all you non cv players need to learn to play

Only bad players will like this CV rework because if you do then it means you were either unable to deal with cvs or unable to play cvs.

quite the opposite actually. a good team can counter a very good CV player extremely easily. its just people expect to be able to sail in a straight line of their own not even bothering to move when they see planes coming then complain that they get killed. if you get killed by a cv its usually because you are out of position or have misplayed somehow. if you allow your def aa to be baited as well you deserve to be AP bomed and if you dont have def aa then dont sit still... simple.i really dont understand all this moaning thats going on about CVs right now its kinda pathetic.

the problem is people never take into account that sometimes both cvs are very good and still moan at their cv for not protecting them when they wonder off to narnia on their own. then call the friendly cv crap just because they died and suddenly become expert cv players when they have never even played a cv before. then they start to cry about cvs without even having an understanding of them.

can i have an option to opt out of having people on my team that sail alone or waste their def aa too early then cry that they got dropped? this kind of thread is one of the many problems with peoples attitude towards cvs.

I have noticed that not many people know what to do in a ranked game when cvs are present and often moan about having to deal with them. I am going to give you guys some tips if you want to win cv games and help your friendly cv player making his life easier. 1. Try to stick together as a team and don't yolo off by yourself, especially not into hostile AA ships where your cv cannot support you. Ranked is 7v7 therefore it is very easy for a cv to isolate someone sailing alone and force an attack through even if that ship has good AA. 2. If you are an AA ship vulnerable to AP bombs please avoid using def AA on torp bombers if you can help it as the cv will just kill you after def AA has gone down. These ships in ranked include: moskva, des moines, Henri, zao, and stalingrad. 3. If there are ships with heavy AA on the enemy team please focus them first so that your cv can be more effective and is able to give better fighter support. 4. Do not flame or harrass your cv for not doing what you want e.i protecting you or dropping a certain ship that you want dead. Usually he will have a better understanding of what is going on in the game and knows what he has to do. Flaming him will just make him play poorly. Now you can him him helpful information and request support but don't get angry if he says he can't because that will usually mean that you are out of position or in enemy AA bubbles which he can't drop through or defend you in. 5. If enemy fighters or any planes come I. Your aa range please ctrl click on them to help kill them faster. It may be a small difference but I can make the difference between a ship dying and not dying. Even if you are a dd and planes are hovering over you especially fighter locked in a duel turning you aa on for that duel can make all the difference. Only if they are spotting range of course. If they are not spotting you or you are not in smoke in a dd leave your aa off. 6. Cvs are not your personal bodyguards so don't just expect cover all the time especially if you are off by yourself. We can only be in so many places at once. That's all of the main points I can think of. Please remember you cannot play the same as you usually do if a cv is in your ranked game because that will just get you killed. So please respect the presence of cvs and adjust your play accordingly. Instead of moaning about having one in Your game :) If anyone can think of anything else they need to know ask bellow. In the same way if a cv fly within a Worcesters aa whilst scouting with fighters and it clips a plane instantly (which is possible without even seeing the Worcester first) then that squad has a massive disadvantage and usually has to either rearm or play defensively that side leaving the enemy time to get a strike in. Now it not making a mistake flying into Worcester aa because it air detection is less than its aa range but it still punishes you which has a massive knock of effect. Does that sound balanced? Any way you spin it there are a lot of things in game equivilafn to the unfairness of AP bombs but go unnoticed because they don't have the instant impact AP bombs do.

If they didn't start to go crazy with AA ships then I may agree with you. But the fact is cvs need ways to counter AA ships if they make mistakes. Same way as aa ships counter cvs that make mistakes. It works both ways.

If a cv wants a ship dead usually it will be dead unless its fully AA specced and plays smart (I have never been deleted in my des moines, Worcester, Salem or Henri by AP bombs). Buy tell me why shouldnt cvs have a counter to AA ships? All they have to do is press a button and bang that's half if not all your planes gone. U agree that AP bombs are imbalanced but not unjustified.

The cv cannot always protect those ship though. If he's for example re arming fighters or trying to push in a strike on something. Holding def AA for AP bombs is to mitigate the damage not completely stop it (unless you're a Worcester).

Cvs are in ranked because they are a class that people play. It was enough banning them from cb. Can't wait to meet you in my midway sir :)

So we're not aloud to be good in our class? Also I think they have banned cvs from enough things. Time to let them have some fun with des moines and moskvas with no def AA :)

Cvs are the only hard counter to the stalingrad. You are going to miss us when we are gone hope you are happy you got the rework now.

didnt have a problem with full AA des moines last ranked season and i wont this season lol. and if they do ill just play fighter haku and spot everything instead :)

As I said before the haku has 1 strike the midway has 2 strikes which can both delete ships. The midway has so much more potential than haku especially if a team needs carrying. Fighter control with 2 high skill cvs is essentially just who can lock over aa first and who is forced to strafe out and lose all his planes. Micro managing only really comes into effect when you are trying to force a strike. Anyway I'm done here. We have our opinions let's leave it at that

Haku used to be better than midway untill the AA heavy meta. It can out last a haku, and out strike a haku. Unfortunately the days of the haku are over. I've easily beaten super unicum haku even with the special upgrade fairly comfortably. And there's a reason the haku is harder to play. Because it's not foas good lol. The only situation where the haku is better is when you need to kill a lot of dds very quickly at the end of a game as it can get its 1 strike out faster. But during a game where all AA ships are in play the midway can either delete the AA ships with AP bombs or attack 2 separate targets on either end of the map forcing the haku to sit its fighters making it possible for a midway to 1v1 a fighter and bully its strike through. Whereas a haku only has 1 main strike group as the bombers are just dot damage and usually has to use the majority of its fighters to get a strike through useless it is late game.

In randoms the the midway completely out classes the haku but yes at all other tiers the IJN cvs are better. Unless we are count g enterprise.
