Ah thanks I will have to take a look and see what WG have come up with, although it is all very early days so who knows what changes will come. As for Brit DDs it will be interesting to see how they balance them, I can’t see the historical accuracy argument of the Royal Navy having just a little experience in ASW carrying as much weight as the historical accuracy argument that subs existed so much be added.

I’m guessing like many others the tired old lines of “communication gap” and “endeavour to do better” but WG won’t change because the second they dangle the next shiny bauble (loot box or premium ship) most people will all forget what they did and give WG more money.

If we are going to ask for forward firing ASW can I tag on my request for the Squid and Limbo launchers on HMS Druid and HMAS Vampire to actually work, and could some one please tell my why HMS Daring had her Squid removed back at the beginning of the submarine project.

Credit to the CCs for standing by their principles but the question is what next? Are we suggesting to boycott the game and try to spread news of it across other platforms, so WG may actually notice a drop in player numbers? Or are we going to wait and see WGs response and explanation is this time (my bets on miscommunication again) ?

Credit to them for all making a stand the question is though will it actually change anything, and sadly there I doubt it very much. Short of the community all ignoring the Missouri loot boxes so WG see their profits hurt they have no reason to change, and I seriously doubt people on mass would boycott giving WG money.

The sad thing is LWM did seem to really care about this game and put a lot of effort in. However the truly depressing thing is WG will trot out the same tired excuses of communication etc, and the community will forget in a week and go back to buying whatever loot box WG come up with next.

You could suggest a Jutland style event of all battleships, see if it gains any popularity, but looking at WGs obsession with subs I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

I know the views on submarines coming to WOWS can be somewhat deeply entrenched, but I'm curious to see how many people here are going to try playing them or against them in the upcoming ranked battle season. Hopefully I have provided a wide enough spectrum of options to suit most people, but I have no doubt I probably missed something out so apologies if you fall into said category.

To be fair to WG they have been saying for a while once they feel subs are ready, then subs will come to all game modes. So subs will come into random and clan battles it’s just a question of when.

Sounds great in theory until you try it and end up getting battle after battle of camping BBs all hiding behind islands, waiting for someone else to push for them.

Whilst I do love my Mikasa and I took several opportunity’s to visit her when I lived in Tokyo even I would get bored of T2 eventually

I am very much in the same boat, subs may not be utterly game breaking but they may well create such a toxic meta ( and so far it’s looking very likely) they take all the fun out of the game, and then there is no reason to keep playing.

I’m living in perhaps naive hope it’s just WG being typically lazy and not wanting to put any ASW equipment/ abilities on premium ships until they know how effective ASW is. However given their ever more predatory business behaviour I wouldn’t put it past them to deliberately not give existing premiums any ASW as an incentive to buy the latest post sub premium. As for changing models has WG ever given a reason why they removed HMS Darings squid launcher?

One thing to remember is even submerged subs move pretty quickly, so if they are already running it’s going to take long enough to catch up and drop them, and that can be a long time to be spotted as a DD.

More by luck than judgement but it was fun.

The trick is kill their DDs first and pray their CVs ignore you while you have fun, also don’t play like me it gets a bit suicidal:

My advice is only go directly fo the sub if your sure his team cannot shoot at you, subs provide a fantastic spotting tool that can light you up for their cruisers, DDs etc. Depth charges also have a moderate blast radius so try to deploy them just as you get over the sub. Also depth charges are fairly weak it takes a couple of drops to kill a full heath sub so try to drop more than one set before getting out of there fast. Some sub players tried to shotgun me when I rushed them but thankfully DDs being so narrow can usually thread the needle. Then you can shoot back. For what it’s worth in my experience at least try to pick off subs who over extend and don’t over extend yourself hunting subs, patience is a real virtue dealing with subs even if it feels very campy.

I will admit the Kami R is a lot fun it’s very much a one trick pony but always a great laugh for when your feeling sadistic.

On the bright side we get to see how the WG staff respond (or not as the case maybe) on twitch tomorrow. Should make for some good viewing.

Considering last Christmas WG said the Kami and Fujin wouldn’t appear in subsequent Christmas events my guess it won’t be any time soon. Still this is WG she will probably reappear but it will be a couple of years before then.

Sadly I fear they will never come which is such a pity as they were fun.
