Schlieffen, Dubs Raffle for Early Access

To be fair there is nothing easier than separating a fool from their money. Whilst it seems madness to me I have no doubt WG will find plenty of such people desperate to throw money in WGs direction.
  2. Whilst I am absolutely on the same page as you in such feelings, I get the impression WG are banking on people enduring Submarines. They might be hated and complained about (heck maybe the players will get reported a lot) but unless people stop playing random battles WG really won’t care. Hence their intransigence and just shoving subs in, they are confident we will submit.
  3. Quick question but as it stands surface ships have certain modules and captain skills designed to help them deal with submarines. So will WG graciously allow people to change their captain skills and ship setups for free? Bearing in mind it wasn’t the players who decided to add such a fundamental change as submarines into random battles.

    General Submarines related discussions

I would also be very curious to see the source for such a claim. However they will never show it too us because the truth would almost certainly be:

    Subs and dcp

Or just create an acoustic decoy consumable but that would add complexity and WG seem very adverse to that.
  6. Personally I just won’t play for that month. In theory if every person who has concerns about the way submarines are being forced into the game didn’t play at all (or at the very least avoided randoms from tier 5 upwards) not only would there be a measurable change to server population, but also the queue times for battles would increase. That would actually inconvenience WG and potentially make them concerned about how negatively received their new pet project was. Still WG know the playerbase will rollover submit to their will, and so they will carry on and ignore us.

Give us dept charge indicators, WG!

I have only seen Druid using her Squid, the rockets launch the projectiles behind her, and I’m told it’s the same for Vampire 2. Which makes me wonder why bother animating the launchers at all. I also remember when Daring had her Squid before it was quietly removed.

Give us dept charge indicators, WG!

The Nevsky also fires forwards, although weirdly the Vampire II and Druid who should have forward firing ASW don’t for some reason. The lack of a dedicated consumable to provide hydro acoustic jamming (like the Foxer system the Royal Navy developed to counter the German torpedos) is another aspect of just how rushed and poorly developed this whole submarine project is.
  9. He makes a very good point only if across the playerbase a widely publicised boycott would WG ever consider listening to the players. The question is do WOWS players have the same strength of will as the WOT players who reacted so violently to the Rubicon event in WOT.

Give us dept charge indicators, WG!

Especially useful for those ships who's ASW fire forwards it would help considerably to know if and when their ASW will work.
  11. I know that WG are disingenuous at the best of times but considering all the feedback and negative responses to Submarines being forced into ranked it was honestly felt wise to ram them into randoms next? It was just under a month a go WG promised to listen better and engage with the community I guess that promise outlived its expiry date already. I seriously think politicians promises are worth more than WGs.

How do you dodge locked on, homing torps?

I still don’t like the fact that it’s necessary to use damage con to remove a lock. Considering the allies developed acoustic decoys it would surely be possible to give surface ship players such decoys to use. Heck if WG wanted they could make it so timing the decoy vs timing the acoustic lock was a test of skill but that would go against their seeming desire to dumb down the game.

I can't understand why nobody will cap.

Smart people do it gingerly some of us just get stubborn and rush in but it can sort of work although it’s less than ideal…

    Upcoming Warhammer 40K Event

Surely loot boxes belong too Tzeentch as the god of change, tricks and manipulation. Slannesh is more to do with sexual deviancy and hedonism.

    General Submarines related discussions

Very true there certainly is a dedicated group who want Submarines introduced at all costs. Still there has never been any indication it’s anything beyond that. As an example I remember when the author James Hornfisher died and WG posted their sympathies on Facebook several of the regulars felt it was appropriate to demand submarines even on that post.

    Upcoming Warhammer 40K Event

I guess I won’t see a ship with a Slaanesh allegiance, mind you that would have to rather significantly violate the Pegi rating Joking aside though it is an easy way for WG to see rather unusual customisations although neither ship really appeals to me.

    Clan Battles Washout..

Having not played this season I will have to take your word for it that it was easy (evidently it was beyond my clans abilities mind you). I’m just happy I didn’t bother trying it doesn’t sound like it was fun.

    Clan Battles Washout..

I am so glad I didn’t play this season it was obvious from the moment it was announced what it would be like and I just don’t need that frustration in a game I play to unwind. Everything I have heard from my clan mates who did decide they wanted to grind the resources available makes it sound like it was a real chore playing.

    Are subs our CV antidote?

Not in the slightest. CVs and subs hardly have any interaction vs each other due to the fact CVs are usually far back and can move fast, add to that the extremely long damage con makes locking on with torps highly unlikely. If anything subs compliment CVs in working well together against surface ships.
  20. I don’t think I was playing that well either I was knocking off anniversary tokens, still good thing about convoy is it’s much more in good fun. I hope your father enjoyed the game at least.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Should have been more kills but I had a helpful teammate who tended to finish off low health targets for me but oh well

[Poll] How do you like new "Convoy" game mode?

I’m going for an approach of an early launch in the vague direction of the enemy BBs and then hiding behind islands to torp anyone coming around the island. Of course assuming I don’t panic when radared and bonk straight into the island whilst still in line of sight of the enemy.

[Poll] How do you like new "Convoy" game mode?

I think the trick is to see this mode for what it is a readily fast paced brawl. There are aspects I wish changed like the convoy route being shown to the attackers but over all its fast and rewards aggression. Let’s also face it the fact some teams don’t understand the mission objective is not a unique issue too convoy mode.

Do you think Wargaming are cheap skates??

I wouldn’t call WG cheap skates we do reasonably well with Christmas and anniversary “snowflake events” and the bonus codes are something extra. (Perhaps though WG could give poor Black Falcon a clue with the Vigenère secret mission he is clearly trying) I will continue to strongly criticise WG for their obsession with loot boxes and bundles, I will criticise their appalling submarine project, but in the bonus code department I don’t find them to be that bad.
