Considering this particular PTS crashes so often especially when trying (I emphasise trying) to play submarines can we please have an extension on the time to earn rewards, this is the first PTS in some time with some moderately good rewards and its frustrating to miss out because of the game crashing.
-
Well subs are still exceedingly easy to play (when the PTS game doesnt crash) but I'm still finding the shotgun tactic (charging enemy, dive just before detected keep charging and then unload a face full of torps at point blank range) very effective the turning circles with the mods make it so easy to then use the rear torps if by some miracle they survive the forward volley. I was also shocked how easy it is to remain hidden with just the slightest practice its worryingly easy to be impossible to find. Honestly it beggar's belief just how easy submarines are and it really takes away (for me at least) what makes a good submarine game, its easy cartoonishly easy but as a result so boring to play.

I am getting a lot of crashes when in the loading screen and judging by my team (going by the greyed out circles on the team list) I think im not the only one. Not sure of this helps but I have the PTS files in the crashes folder but of course cannot upload them here.

Thunderer and Conqueror always in the back.
lovelacebeer replied to Corpsetaker's topic in General Discussion
Well for the Conqueror ever since it’s release there are a lot of people who like to play her as a long range HE spammer, they may not win battles like that but they do rack up impressive damage scores. Sadly those ships being back of the map will probably always be an issue, almost as common as seeing Kurfürst commanders staying well back playing max range. -
Now I know this idea is never going to happen because it’s low tiers but here goes anyway: Considering WG are working on British Battle cruisers we could have a special event based around the battle of Jutland, tiers 4 and 5 mainly but maybe tier 3 just for the lols. Create some special currency that’s earnt from completing missions in lower tier ships. Then convert that currency into extra resources, community tokens or flags. I doubt it could be done in time but then consider putting some of the low tier premiums on sale like Dreadnought or Diana just to encourage people that some of these interesting ships still exist.

Historical ships you would like to see
lovelacebeer replied to Harvin87's topic in General Discussion
This might just be me because I love the pre WW1 and WW1 designs. However I fear WG have somewhat shot themselves in the foot by focusing primarily on end tier game play, there is a lot of potential for tiers 2-5 introducing unusual designs and plenty of events could be focused around them. WG can even create some special currencies for such events. Sadly that will never happen though. -
Dirigible Derby: some observations
lovelacebeer replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
I tend to believe in this mode the team that controls the end point usually wins, however this is clearly not the view held by many who play. So I was wondering if other people are getting this experience and how you guys deal with it: Where your team all run to the airship at the start of the battle, then end up camping behind an island leaving the airship to carry along alone. However the enemy team focuses the end point where the airships are really close together usually resulting in them winning the game. -
The oil slick was an interesting little feature but it’s useless for when trying to gauge where the sub is going. Still an utterly Unpleasant experience, subs are just so good at hiding and fast that the battles just drag on and on if the sub player wants it too.

Thank you

[POLL] How your gameplay might change with subs?

I admit this poll on their twitch stream was pretty enlightening: -
[POLL] How your gameplay might change with subs?

I will possibly play clan battles still and maybe operations but otherwise that’s it. I would rather take a break from the game than endure such a poorly executed development project. -
If only it did work like that. Your just as likely to get reported as complimented for playing well in any ship type. Personally I find my karma is most volatile when I play DD going down pretty steeply if I have a exceedingly good game.
-
Karma serves as a vent so all the people who object to when you shoot back at them can report you for playing badly or being unsporting. As a result it won’t really change because WG don’t want the hassle of dealing with loads of support tickets for abusive chat messages. I honestly wouldn’t let it bother you, it’s frankly amusing that people play a war game but really want a duck hunting simulator, where the targets don’t shoot back and they get angry if you outplay them.

0.11.2 Public Test 0.11.2 - Savage Battle: Sink 'Em All!
lovelacebeer replied to YabbaCoe's topic in Archive
It’s certainly fun, the battles are very chaotic but everything worked fine and was a good laugh. -
Didn’t manage to encounter any submarines in random battles so not able to comment on how it is to play against them.

Dirigible Derby: some observations
lovelacebeer replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
I actually like this mode. However the only thing that really frustrates me is the number of people who totally ignore the mission objective and flee to the back of the map as soon as battle starts trying to preserve their ship. Still I admit the quality of play is pretty poor this weekend sadly this kind of result is pretty normal, I actually drove the poor enemy Khaba to explode rather violently in chat because he was the only ship lost on his entire team oh well I can live being reported: -
0.11.1 Update 0.11.1 - Changes to in-game economy
lovelacebeer replied to Seraphice's topic in Archive
I didn't want to start a new topic and it could well be I'm miss understanding something about the USS Missouri credit earning uplift. As the screen shot below indicates it has 17 days left for the earning uplift. Is this just a rolling thing so that it gets close to expiry then its extended, or has a mistake been made? It could well be fine and I just have been unaware of how the uplifts work but would just like to check. Thank you. -
It could possibly be I just missed it this (as it’s been ages since I got one) or I’m imagining things but I think the sound of when you win a super container has changed. Just wanted to say it does sound better now, nice little touch.

Given all the fun and games lately with WGs updates and the problems that come in their wake, maybe it’s a good thing it’s a long down time. Clearly they need to be more careful and not rush things.

Is Dirigible Derby skill based game mode?
lovelacebeer replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
Yeh that is very true, and can be extremely fun watching them come one at a time to take you on rather than rush together. -
Is Dirigible Derby skill based game mode?
lovelacebeer replied to CaravellaCaravan's topic in General Discussion
It’s certainly ideal for brawling especially towards the end of the battle. Whilst there can be instances of camping it’s less prevalent than in randoms and usually a sure sign a team will loose. Over all I would say it’s more fun and less bad tempered than a lot of random battles. -
Dirigible Derby: some observations
lovelacebeer replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
I’m genuinely surprised some people are finding the torp spam an issue. However to be fair no matter what class I have played (and I have played all 3 classes) I have only once seen a game with 3 DDs per side, and I hardly see Shimas. -
Remove the hydro from the German BC line or cap the range to 3km WG!!!
lovelacebeer replied to Yedwy's topic in General Discussion
Whilst I mostly agree with you any sensible DD will know to run a cap isn’t worth dying for. Support however is a exceedingly rare resource in this game, to the point of being almost mythical. -
Mixed feels about them, I like that they have unlimited attempts but it’s a bit irritating that I need to play ships I might not be interested in (eg The French or pan Europe lines) just to get the required tokens. I guess i just prefer the traditional challenges of do X amount of damage or get X amount of XP.

Dingleberry derby appreciation thread
lovelacebeer replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
I’m enjoying it, I expect very little from my teams but over all I’m having a good laugh, it’s different and it’s rewarding for people capable of playing objectives.
