New map is a very welcome addition. I really like that the community tokens allowing us to buy premium ship containers again. I give up on subs they are utterly awful and WG clearly haven’t got any idea what they are doing -
Sadly WG are very adamant next to none of us play operations (apparently). So they don’t want to make the effort of even returning the missing operations let alone developing new operations. Next subs are still work in progress so being very generous to WG it probably is hard to build a operation plus the underwater environment around a changing situation. Finally the last reason as I see it is because many people have said subs would be great in operations, and WG want to force subs into random matches. So they don’t want to give us a choice as players.

It will be interesting to see if and when we get the one promised new map this year. I know WG said there was a possibility there could be a second map (but it’s WG I set my expectations exceedingly low). The map issue is just another wonderful aspect of the glorious submarine project, not only are many of the maps still bugged with random submerged obstacles but it’s why we don’t get new maps.

I’m avoiding random battles like the plague while subs are being tested there. It would honestly be interesting to see how WG would react if everyone opposed to how WG are developing subs suddenly stopped playing randoms.

According to the reply Yabbacoe kindly provided me when I questioned if it was a bug, it’s: It is a temporary measure, which is happening because of technical specifics of chat system. So I guess make the most of those compliments while we can be extra nice or not lol

Im glad its not just me, I actually queried it in case it was a bug, although I am not complaining 22 coms/reports is always useful.

This might not be a bug but safer to ask has our Karma allowance been changed lately ? I went to compliment someone in my last game and I have 22 compliments I can give out, I'm not complaining but curious if this is right.

What you have to remember guys is like Arkhance (sorry can’t remember how he spells it) said on the NA twitch stream DDs are NOT the teams primary ship type to combat subs. Just because historically they were, doesn’t mean WG see it as a DDs job and clearly didn’t design sub interaction that way. -
- I get the point of homing torpedos for sub vs sub combat but IMO they shouldn’t be the primary weapon for use against surface ships. Perhaps it would be worth upping their speed but dropping their damage or just make them unusable on the surface. - The hydrophones range used for sub vs sub action should also probably be extended, also the wait time for it to work at the start of a battle needs reducing. - One area I strongly believe needs addressing is the speeds of submarines, due to the nature of the game subs do need to travel faster than in real life when on the surface, but when submerged subs should be significantly slower than they are now. One of the aspects I love of good submarine games is the silent hunter role carefully getting into position where as in wows it’s more of a yolo rush. Now if that means subs spawn further forward but get more sensible speeds that would be a fairer trade off. This would also mean trying to depth charge a sub when I’m a DD would be considerable less stupid where the DD takes ages to actually catch up with the sub, subs are already exceedingly stealthy so getting away by going deep is still possible. Subs equipped with AA guns should be able to use them, whilst they wouldnt have amazing AA some is better than none. It would also allow WG to sell some of the German AA u boats ( eg U-441/ U flak 1) as a specialist option. - Radar should detect subs at periscope depth. Honestly I doubt these would be sufficient but they might at least help a bit compared to what we have now. Realistically if WG were to do subs right they should really rebuild the game from scratch make WOWS 2.0.0 vastly bigger maps much longer battle times change the spawn points. The problem is they insist on shoehorning them in without doing the necessary work.

It’s a very easy NO for me. Submarines and submarine warfare in general are both really interesting and in good submarine games they are great fun, they are also utterly beyond WGs ability to implement in an acceptable fashion. -

Unfortunately it appears to be a consequence of the submarine project, for the last 2 years we have had very underwhelming or delayed events, I can only presume because subs are sucking up so many of WGs resources. -
The thing is while the submarine project is absorbing so many WG resources we have either had distinctly underwhelming events or recycled events like this. To be fair I’m actually enjoying this mode as some light hearted fun and avoiding playing Guineapig in random battles, but I admit the rewards are rather lacking.

If it’s true WG has actually dropped this truly appalling idea I am both impressed and stunned. I really hope WG just forgot it was April fools and that’s partly why we are so skeptical if they are telling the truth (the other reason is experience).

I got the in game pop up and also reminded a few times when I opened the game client. However it doesn’t motivate me to change my closed wallet policy in regards to WG. -

It might just be me but there does seem an odd urgency within WG of late, super ships, subs and now support CVs. Sadly I really believe they are that foolhardy to just Keep banging out anything no matter what without the slightest thought put into it. -

The idea of stun bombs is too much of a bad idea for it to be a joke. WG dont have such a developed sense of humour, they do however have such a tendency towards bad ideas. -

I’m surprised WG have not thought to link their new support CVs with their beloved submarine project. British and American support CVs could drop sonobuoys over an area much like a fighter consumable that for a period of time detect all submarines in that area regardless of depth. -
Seemed to work fine and also a nice touch to add a British tank engine locomotive to the port rather than the American locomotive used for HMS Marlborough. Very minor change I know but it is appreciated.

What happened to the promise WG? Here we are 7 months later...

You have to remember that promise was only valid for the day it was published, WG responded to the situation of their own making with some empty platitudes and has moved on. Seriously any political manifesto has vastly more sincerity than any statement coming out of WG. -

The problem is no matter how many polls there are on WOWS twitch stream, forum plus the overwhelmingly negative feedback on their Instagram and Facebook pages, WG will always choose to write this off as the supposed vocal minority. I can only presume they must go by how many people try playing subs in game or persist in playing in random battles where subs are present. Therefore WG can confidently come to the conclusion that most players will meekly submit to the introduction of subs, and will press ahead regardless of any negative feedback as mentioned previously. -

The textures and effects on the maps look good, not so taken with snow appearing in the ship seems rather pointless. Honestly couldn’t notice any difference to the underwater environment. -

It would be nice to see some rotation of what premium ships are available as a CT reward. Mind you I love the joke about PT feedback having some impact on the game. -
Although I’m not going to buy anything simply because of the way things are going in game and I’m therefore reluctant to support WG financially. I would like to say the Turtle ship camo is a nice homage to the original turtle ships the Koreans used.
