Took a break from the game and now all my captains have less than subpar skills and apparently I have to pay real money to fix them

It would be useful if you need to re skill your captains for ASW or to play differently, if you set your captains up during the time when submarines were not present on the server. -

I was more than a little disappointed to see that WG didn’t provide a reset all commanders button when they decided to reintroduce their submarine project upon us. I did actually ask Yabbacoe about such an option back on the 16 February, which he kindly replied that he wouldn’t be able to share such information even if he knew. I assume that commander resets must be pretty profitable for WG hence their reluctance to offer them. -
I think it does reflect back eventually but again you have to do it a lot for that to kick in

I was stunned to see how many pink players I encountered in ranked battles. It takes some doing these days after all.

You have to love this playerbase at times, they are so special…

Agreed the way using the ASW aiming reticule messes up your guns aiming reticle is really annoying. -
WG please show CV players some love!

On a slight tangent, I do agree with the OP that it would be nice if WG would look into adding some new content, say campaigns, one for each of the ship classes, DD, Cruiser, BB and yes CV. Purely to add some diversity for us older players but no legendary modules or some brokenly OP advantage, just some moderate rewards and some distinct reward say a famous ship captain from history, maybe even a mid tier ship (eg Shinonome style) or a special customisation for existing ships. I know it’s a pipe dream as WG only want time gated events which are pay to skip. -
[Poll] Did you buy / are you planning to buy "Superships" ?

Got the Eagle for messing around/ practice in training rooms with clan mates. Although I would never dare take her out in randoms or CB. -
Wouldn’t it just be easier to give subs normal torps and then when it’s sub vs sub they have to get some kind of homing lock, for when changing depths.

Why carriers cant attack submarines ?
lovelacebeer replied to M_A_E_stro's topic in General Discussion
I can see the logic of such thinking, however the British employed their fleet carriers in anti submarine warfare roles (with varying degrees of success) though out the war. Whilst Escort Carriers were most certainly a thing that was more a cost issue rather than to do with anti submarine capability. -
I too was under the impression that tier 8 shouldn’t meet Superships unless in a fail division. However if WG messed up the MM and it can happen that tier 8 solo players are meeting Superships then I hope people will post screen shots to show WG they need to do better.

Can anyone recommend any good YouTube videos of how to play the HMS Eagle? Whilst I only play CVs in the training room with clan mates, I would still like to improve.

It does seem a weird game design choice by WG. Cynically I do wonder if it’s purely to create popularity for a class that can avoid CVs due to the substantial dislike quite a few people have for CVs. Otherwise I wonder if anti submarine warfare will become a part of the proposed support CVs role. During WW2 escort CVs did engage in submarine hunting those of us from pre CV rework will remember the USS Bogue. So having players able to actually fly depth charge equipped squadron would give them a choice similar to rocket, torp or bomb squadrons. It would make for an interesting idea having squadrons able to drop sonobuoys over an area (similar to how they drop their fighter consumable). Then any ships nearby plus the CV itself could see the sub (allowing for balancing options like crash diving deep). -
Fingers crossed they can repair her

I remember they said the rewards would be delivered by the 26th April, but I don’t think the article specified when we would see the results.- 1 reply

Choose to keep one of the test ships permanently

Superships are deliberately expensive to run and as OP has stated he isn’t in a position to run a premium account. Rushing to play a super ship would not be a good idea for your credit supply. Whilst it might be in WGs interests to encourage people to rush to tier 10+ it isn’t in the actual players interest to just jump up to Superships. I am by no means a great player but patience and learning the game in lower tiers really will pay off. -
thx Wargaming, great improvement.

Seeing as I’m avoid randoms and mostly playing scenarios lately the extra compliments are actually useful. -
My only question is how will super ships be dealt with when it comes to snowflake events?

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

That was a fun battle you guys did really well, but yeh a pity would have been a fun duel. -
HMS Exeter being removed from the Armory - another disappointment

It’s still some time before this change comes into effect. Depending on how close you are to getting the number of tokens required, do considering doing the PTS when they come up. You can get quite a lot of community tokens that way. -
Unfortunately as long as WG get your money and you play in modes where submarines are present, they will interpret that as meaning you like being a guinea pig.

Clan Battles 17 - ARE YOU SERIOUS?
lovelacebeer replied to Swiss__Admiral's topic in General Discussion
It does seem rather premature to think about adding super ship, but it will be at least interesting to see how many clans end up bringing them. -
At least with the return of the container options I can randomly get new ships every now and then.
