Which tiers do you find the most fun to play?
lovelacebeer replied to Pivke's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure I would accuse everyone who has a tier 10 CV of being crème de la crème. More often than not I get CVs like the one in this battle, who flew his first strike wing into the enemy getting some spotting XP in the process, then raging about the OP nature of Smolensk AA and quitting the battle. (I concede though I had a poor battle myself but this was my most recent rage quitting CV game I could screen shot)- 50 replies

Which tiers do you find the most fun to play?

Used to love tier 5 but as OP correctly points out the air menace is too extreme now. 7 was another firm favourite but now I'm shifting to playing 10 a lot more than anything else- 50 replies

lovelacebeer replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
Cool thanks for the advanced notice, and also good luck to you on the Puerto Rico -
You know your doing something wrong when you communicate with your team and thank the CV for his help. I clearly need to change my attitude:

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
lovelacebeer replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Battle didn't start out well and lord knows their CV drove me crazy constantly resetting me when ever I went to cap (he was annoying as an enemy but a good player) but was actually a good battle and scarily got complimented 4 times which is a new personal best -
Its not just you, the vast majority of my games the past week have had CVs in. Now whether that's an actual increase in the CV population of Cv players playing more I guess we will have to wait to see the stats when they are released
-
Lucky you is all I can say, im reporting them too the support people because it really ruins the fun of game.
-
It is depressingly common to see rage quitting from CV players lately, mostly they either do a quick flyby then go or openly say in chat too many cruisers they are leaving. Im just playing scenarios mainly to avoid having to deal with CV players on my team, but I agree a hard cap of 1 is certainly necessary

This ⬆️ so perfectly sums up what I usually encounter (to be fair it's not always exclusively the BB players but it's more obvious when they or a DD do it). The other annoying thing for me is when you are pushing a flank as a BB and the guy in the higher tier BB is happily behind you constantly issuing orders to everyone while finding a nice little island to colonise. So that then his full health pool is completely useless when he is the last one left alive. I mean we all know there is a fine line between measured aggression and over extending as a BB, a line I admit I still sometimes go too much on the aggressive side of. Still you can get fantastic results as a BB by simply supporting your DDs but the amount of passive gameplay is tedious these days.

I would like to participate, Also thank you for doing this.
-
Certainly isn't fun that's for sure but hope you have had better luck than me with your CV players. My teams CVs usually either go AFK/ rage quit or deliberately team kill, and it's been like that over and over this past week.

Radar still ruining gameplay and WG dont care about it
lovelacebeer replied to DocStrangeFruit's topic in General Discussion
I honestly don't find radar to be that much of a issue when I play DD (unless I messed up and got over confident pushing forwards). I do have to work around the presence of radar ships but as long as I maintain map awareness they are not that big of an issue. Although it's always funny when you kill a radar cruiser as a DD they usually don't react very happily. I am very happy they put the delay in radar information being passed on to other ships on the enemy team for me that was a big help for those times I made mistakes and got too close. Compared to CVs I really don't have a problem with radar cruisers. -
What did your Black Friday 2019 premium containers drop?
lovelacebeer replied to Flash2003jak's topic in General Discussion
The free containers gave me paint and 250 dabloons, the 250 dabloon container gave me 14 days premium time, which isn't bad as I am a free to play kind of guy -
Take a break, I'm having one of those weeks were it's not even worth playing every battle is a defeat, and not even a fun defeat against the odds it's just constant rage and stupidity. 3/4 of the games I have are either the CV going AFK or deliberately team killing our DDs because a DD killed him last game, or someone else on the team going AFK because we are in a CV match usually the persons in the top tier ships. Its for this reason I will probably sit out the rest of this patch and probably come back for the next one if I feel like trying the dockyard and even then I might just sit out WOWS for a month or so. Remember it's just a game not a moody side girl or mistress we can ignore the game when it's not being fun.

This is why CV's dont belong in ranked..
lovelacebeer replied to Sark74's topic in General Discussion
Whilst I don't usually bother with ranked battles, rage quitting or AFK CVs are a problem I'm more than used too, only had it twice today which for a Saturday is pretty good. -
I did most of the captures in the Lightening although amusingly I got my final base capture in the Yamato and wasn't even trying was just how the battle went. However I agree it's very hard to do it in CoOp just because of how the bots behave.

Narai horror stories. How badly did your team fail?
lovelacebeer replied to DanSilverwing's topic in General Discussion
Narai has a unique ability to frustrate as an operation, mainly because it has 3 distinct tasks, in that situation you better hope you only have one troll or very clueless player. I should start by actually saying I love Narai as an operation with players I know, it's a fun mission where you need to split up and follow a plan. Even with totally random players all you need is 4 people who can actually think and it's fine, still the reason it goes wrong are usually the same 3 problems time and again: The biggest cause of failing is usually the transports that flee, you ask your team who will go for it and no one responds so you think fine I will do it. However suddenly find 2 BBs happily following you because those transports look like too much for a cruiser to deal with. I won't even go down the road of trying to achieve the Shark amongst shrimps achievement because even if you ask if you can be left alone to get it and you kill 4 there is always someone willing to secure the last kill. Secondly the number of players who refuse to go into the base in front of the troop ships your escorting so they take a lot of punishment from the DD, fort and CL waiting for them. It's for this reason I am loath to go for the CV or transports as I would rather loose a star than loose the mission. Finally the CV, the number of times players start going for it then loose confidence and hide due to the escorts or like with the transports you find you get 3 ships following you and have abandoned the troop ships to their fate is depressing. -
Honestly being accused of cheating I find funny and if it's just that and they report me for cheating I don't care, but when they make racial insults then I will report simply on principle.

Duplicate drop rate for Italian collection?
lovelacebeer replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
Surprisingly very few duplicates for me this time. I have 14 out of the 16 and I'm sitting on exactly 8 duplicates so I can use them for the days premium when it suits me. -
I'm still surprised WG thought the Smolensk was a good idea considering they had removed the Kutuzov from sale and specifically didn't give the British light cruisers HE because of how frustrating for most players it is to deal with them. Still the funny thing for me is how many Smolensk players are going down the Giulio Cesare route of reporting anyone who dares to kill them. I assume because the Smolensk is such a evil ship in the hands of a moderately good player they assume it must be an invincible ship and refuse to think they may have misplayed.
-
Best thing to do is just report them, if the chat is extremely offensive submit a support ticket. I once received a message (cannot show in the forum because the language used was unacceptable on here, which I completely understand) post battle those are the most easy to submit to WG and just have to have faith it is acted upon. Even today I was called amongst other things a "******* dirty ***** cheater" by a Smolensk player because I managed to citadel him in my Yamato, honestly being reported by sore losers who you killed is just funny, but if they decide to use racist language etc I always submit a report ticket simply on principle. I do certainly get frustrated at some players ie the CV player who refuses to move his ship away from the enemy push and so dies, or the player who runs away from the battle to go sulk in the corner because they don't like the match maker, but I do not believe swearing or racist insults will change their behaviour. I do ask politely when the person is more clearly a poor player if they can do X or Y rarely works but better to try than just melt down. Still I admit I'm very hard to rile up simply due to my real world work, only once ever in this game has some one really got to me and even then it was more I was doing a very nasty case as work so was more the straw that broke the camels back than anything else.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
lovelacebeer replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Was a pretty fun match but struggled to finish my kills mostly would get them down and then be beaten on the reload. Still was funny I got reported twice by a division of cruisers because apparently its cheating that they can get citadelled if they sit broadside to me, totally worth it though
