I just don't trust WG not to ram subs into random battles as soon as possible way before subs are anywhere near approaching balanced, saying the separate mode wasn't working for them. No doubt conveniently at the same time they release premium subs.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Im currently grinding the Ikea DDs and Im really not a fan of them, but first battle was funny the enemy CV went nuts in chat saying I was cheating for shooting his planes down of course he reported me for it too even though he won. Second battle we were loosing 830 points to 300 and they had 6 ships left to our 4 was a satisfying come back especially as it was a tier 10 battle -
I'm not bothered by radar all that much, yes you have to be mindful of it but even I can cope in a game with multiple radar cruisers. Compared to a moderately competent enemy CV player, radar is just a minor inconvenience.

Clan Battles: Warrior's Path Season
lovelacebeer replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Shame the reason I loved clan battles was because it allowed for teamwork and allowed for ambushes, with CVs present it will take away any real tactics. -
People need to start taking account for their actions
lovelacebeer replied to MahBallz's topic in General Discussion
Personally I have learnt to find it funny when I'm torped by a friendly DD who is launching from the second line and the first they they say is I'm a stupid 42% win rate player not looking where he is launching his Torps and getting is his way. I dont profess to be great at this game but it's funny how many people make up such win rate accusations. -
Move Submarine Testing to Live Server.
lovelacebeer replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
This is a damn good question, my guess is they will do missions i.e. Get X number of kills in subs mode in a BB to get a certain reward. -
Move Submarine Testing to Live Server.

Its an old political trick you release some embarrassing information to distract people from a much bigger mistake you have made. This way everyone will be talking about subs rather than any balancing concerns re the new Russian cruisers. -

Wasn't having any luck in randoms so decided to go bully some bots -
question Should there be a battlecruiser tech tree in the game ?
lovelacebeer replied to J10assassinator's topic in General Discussion
I don't think WG would introduce a dedicated Battlecruiser category it is easier to define them as battleships but with a different play style. Still I would love there to be a British battlecruiser line as an alternative to the Battleship line, especially if at the tier VIII was a refitted Admiral class (as Hood was meant to get). -
Brace yourself, saying something good about WG
lovelacebeer replied to Profilus's topic in General Discussion
It's honestly a little worrying to see WG being nice to us. -
I believe that's exactly what I said I do, stating I prefer to use them for hit and run attacks on DDs, but I still find these particular DDs disappointing, as your largely relegated to cap contesting/ DD hunting.

It is a known bug and in the "to be dealt with" pile on WGs collective desk but it arrived a couple of patches ago so will happen for a while still.

I only have the 5, 6 and 7 so far but not that impressed with them. The lack of smoke is a real problem, the tier 7 can at least actually shoot planes down but not fast enough. I found the weakness of the torps meant I couldn't do what I wanted a lot because I couldn't be sure the target would die out right. I got best results doing hit and run attacks trying to take on enemy DDs but with a view to kiting away healing up and going in again but with the lack of smoke dodging is a real must.

It was a very disappointing April Fools event this year but as they said in the live stream it's because they have dedicated so much resources into Sub development they couldn't put the time into April Fools. Was a missed opportunity I feel considering the current situation where I would have appreciated the entertainment of a proper April fools event.

I keep seeing the argument that subs will be the natural counter to CVs but I don’t see how. So far in the previous iterations of testing, CVs have been the perfect weapon to dispatch a sub, CVs out run subs massively so even with the extremely unrealistic speeds WG are trying to give subs it would still be hard to catch up with a half awake CV. Also are people proposing a sub player should spawn in a different location to the rest of the team or is a sub player expected to sneak past the entire enemy team undetected and not be distracted and go hunt BBs or cruisers and instead go hunt the CV?
-
They will come out when they are ready after testing then lots of hype building them up, CCs videos and streams covering them combined with some sort of directives or grind event to encourage us to play them. In other words we will get them when WG are ready and I sincerely doubt it would be possible to miss it, just like with every other new ship line.

280 tokens for the Skane... 7 containers obtained...
lovelacebeer replied to HassenderZerhacker's topic in General Discussion
I managed to get the Skane but I'm rather underwhelmed with her. I find she lacks impact even if you build up good damage scores its very hard to kill anything out right and the AA will shoot some planes down but not nearly fast enough so you get to receive a lot of focused fire so your not really missing out, although I'm not a fan of the random number of tokens in containers. -

Apparently capping wins games, sadly it doesn't always: -
Thank you WG - April Fools Clan Brawl Highlights
lovelacebeer replied to viceadmiral123's topic in General Discussion
I found the novelty wore off in about 3 matches and then got very bored of it. Still its understandable as they said on Thursdays live stream they couldn't do a proper April fools because they are too busy with trying to develop subs. -
Has mine laying ever been explored in this game?
lovelacebeer replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
There were mines back in Operation dynamo, originally if you entered the mine field you would take damage but as people struggled with it so it was altered so you could travel at quarter speed. There was quite a lot of debate about to potential of laying mines in game but the main problems were always; It would make the game even more passive than it already is, To make an effective mine field either ships would have to lay a lot or they would make tiny little areas that would be easy to bypass, Potential for abuse with deliberately causing friendly fire, Minefields were great in operations although sadly WG are bored of operations so I doubt we will ever see Dynamo return and certainly never any new ones. -
I'm going to give this brawl a miss CVs just take all the fun out and remove any real tactics from clan battles.

So now on every stream, or YouTube video WG do we can see a dedicated few ask every 5 minutes "German CVs when?!" Followed by the obligatory complaints they are underpowered because they are German and apparently WG make everything German underpowered (at least according to a rather vocal section of the player base).

Wargaming, communication and this board.
lovelacebeer replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
I don't get the impression that WG take the forum very seriously however in all fairness to WG I can somewhat understand why, the amount of complaining on the forum can give the iimpression we only come here to whinge. The thing is sometimes very good ideas and suggestions are voiced on the forum sadly they tend to be ignored. Still to WGs credit they do a pretty good job of answering our questions. -
Thank you for putting them all together like this, all worked for me.
